SphereSeating Guide: Where to Sit & Best Seats

Sphere (Las Vegas, opened 2023) is a one-of-a-kind venue: a 17,600-seat dome (about 18,600 capacity in most configurations) wrapped on the inside by a 16K floor-to-ceiling LED screen, with Sphere Immersive Sound and roughly 10,000 'haptic' seats that move and vibrate with the show. Because the screen wraps the whole interior, there are no truly obstructed views — but where you sit changes how much of the wraparound image you take in. The consensus best seats are the center 200 Level (and center 300, e.g. Section 306) at mid-height, where you see the stage and the full sweep of the screen as intended.

Configurations

Immersive films (e.g. Postcard from Earth)

Sphere's signature experience uses the entire wraparound screen and 4D/haptic effects. Mid-height, center seats (200 and 300 Levels) give the most complete 'as-intended' view of the dome; the very front and very high seats see less of the top of the screen.

Concert residencies

Artist residencies (U2 opened the venue; Eagles, Dead & Company, Kenny Chesney, Backstreet Boys and others have followed) use an end stage. The 100 Level is closest to the stage; center 200/300 balances stage proximity with the full screen.

Special & corporate events

Hosts premieres, sporting broadcasts and corporate shows that use the screen and immersive audio. The same center, mid-level sweet spot applies.

Seating levels explained

100 Level

Approx. sections 101–110

The lowest seating tier, closest to the stage.

Pros: Closest to the performers for concerts; immersive and loud.

Cons: Rows roughly 30 and above can lose the very top of the dome screen; for immersive films you sit too low to take in the whole image.

200 Level

Approx. sections 201–211

The mid-lower tier — the most recommended seats in the building.

Pros: Unobstructed line from the floor to the top of the screen; the best balance of stage proximity and full wraparound view. Center 200 sections are the consensus best seats.

Cons: In-demand and priced accordingly; the very ends are more side-on.

300 Level

Approx. sections 301–311

The mid-upper tier; center Section 306 is often cited as the single best "director’s intent" seat.

Pros: Complete floor-to-ceiling view of the screen; center sections frame the immersive image perfectly.

Cons: Further from the stage than the 200 Level — better for films than for being close at a concert.

400 Level

Upper tier

The highest tier.

Pros: Still a complete view of the wraparound screen (no fully obstructed seats at Sphere); the most affordable.

Cons: Furthest from the stage and the steepest angle.

Seats to avoid & obstructed views

  • 100 Level, rows ~30 and above: Sit too low and far back under the dome to see the very top of the wraparound screen.
  • Extreme side / far-end sections at every level: A more side-on angle to the stage and a less centered framing of the immersive image.
  • Highest 400 Level corners: Furthest from the stage with the steepest viewing angle (still unobstructed, just distant).

Premium & hospitality

Suites & loge boxes

Private premium boxes with dedicated seating and elevated service for the full immersive experience.

Premium center seating

The center 200/300 Level seats are the highest-value general locations — the framing the show is designed around.

Accessibility & companion seating

Wheelchair-accessible and companion seating is offered across all levels, with transfer and limited-mobility options. Important for planning: the Sphere experience is intensely visual, uses powerful Sphere Immersive Sound and includes haptic “4D” seat effects in around 10,000 seats — guests with sensory sensitivities, motion sensitivity or photosensitivity should factor this in (haptics can sometimes be avoided by seat choice). Book accessible seats through Ticketmaster / Sphere Guest Services and confirm specifics for your show.

Where: Accessible and companion positions are available on every level (100–400) of the dome.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best seats at Sphere Las Vegas?

The consensus best seats are the center 200 Level and center 300 Level (around Section 306) at mid-height. From there you take in the stage and the entire floor-to-ceiling wraparound screen as the show is designed to be seen.

Are there any bad or obstructed seats at Sphere?

There are no fully obstructed seats — the screen wraps the whole interior, so every seat sees it. The main caveat is the 100 Level above about row 30, which sits too low to catch the very top of the dome. Center seats frame the image best.

What are haptic seats at Sphere?

Around 10,000 of Sphere’s seats are “haptic” (4D) seats that physically move and vibrate in time with the content, adding a tactile layer to the immersive sound and visuals. If you’d prefer to avoid the effect, choose a non-haptic section.

Should I sit in the 100 Level or higher at Sphere?

For concerts where you want to be close to the artist, the lower 100 Level is best. For the immersive films and the full screen experience, the center 200 and 300 Levels are better — high enough to see the whole dome, central enough to frame it correctly.

What is the capacity of Sphere?

Sphere seats about 17,600 across its levels, with a total capacity of roughly 18,600 in most configurations. It opened in 2023 and is wrapped inside by a 16K floor-to-ceiling LED screen with Sphere Immersive Sound.

Is Sphere accessible, and anything to know about sensory effects?

Yes — accessible and companion seating is available on all levels. Note the experience is intensely visual, very loud (Sphere Immersive Sound) and includes haptic seat effects in many seats, so guests with sensory, motion or light sensitivity should plan seat choice accordingly. Book via Ticketmaster / Sphere Guest Services.
