Rogers CentreSeating Guide: Where to Sit & Best Seats
Rogers Centre is the retractable-roof home of the Toronto Blue Jays and one of Toronto's biggest concert venues. Following the major 2022–2024 renovations, baseball capacity is approximately 39,150, with seating arranged across the 100 Level (field level), the 200 Level (club/mezzanine), the suite-only 300 and 400 Levels, and the steep 500 Level (upper deck); the outfield now features re-oriented seats plus social spaces and bars. The best baseball seats are the renovated 100 Level infield and premium dugout sections (around 113–130) directly behind the dugouts and home plate, while the best value sits in the 500 Level behind home plate (around 522–526) and in the outfield corners. For concerts, the retractable roof allows configurations from intimate theatre setups to full stadium shows of up to roughly 55,000, with the lower bowl and floor general admission delivering the strongest experience.
Configurations
MLB baseball (Toronto Blue Jays)
The primary configuration. The full oval bowl is open across the 100, 200 and 500 Levels (300/400 Levels are suites) for an approximate baseball capacity of 39,150. The retractable roof opens or closes in around 20–30 minutes, so games rarely face weather disruption. Post-renovation features include re-oriented infield and outfield seats facing home plate, widened seats, cupholders on the 100 Level, raised bullpens and outfield social spaces.
Concerts (full stadium)
With the roof closed or open, the venue converts to an end-stage concert layout using a floor (general admission or seated) plus the surrounding bowl. Capacity scales up to around 55,000 depending on the stage and production footprint. Sections behind and to the extreme sides of the stage are typically curtained off or sold as restricted/limited view.
Concerts (reduced / theatre setups)
For smaller touring shows the venue can be scaled down with curtaining to create more intimate configurations (commonly cited in the 5,000–25,000 range). The roof can be open for warm-weather shows or closed in cooler months.
Other large events
Rogers Centre also hosts conventions, trade shows, monster truck events, supercross and similar spectacles using a central floor layout with the surrounding seating bowl.
Seating levels explained
100 Level (Field Level)
Approximately 101–142The renovated lower bowl wrapping from the outfield corners around the infield. Infield baseline sections (around 113–130) sit closest to the action with the best sightlines to home plate, while outfield sections (around 101–103 and 140–142) are cheaper. Dugout and 'In the Action' premium seats line the area behind home plate and beside each dugout.
Pros: Closest to the field; best sightlines; widened seats with cupholders after renovation; strong chance at foul balls near the dugouts.
Cons: Infield and premium sections are the most expensive in the building; first-base side sees the most sun on warm afternoons.
200 Level (Club / Mezzanine)
Approximately 200sThe mezzanine level set back and above the 100 Level, including club seating and the premium areas behind home plate. Third-base side sections (around 227–231) and the area behind home plate are favoured for shade when the roof is open.
Pros: Elevated yet still close; good all-round views; some sections protected from sun by the deck above; club amenities behind home plate.
Cons: Premium club seats carry higher prices; the most overhung rows can have a partly obstructed top-of-frame view of the roof/upper deck.
300 & 400 Levels (Suites)
Two levels given over almost entirely to private luxury suites and club hospitality rather than general public seating. The venue offers a large number of suites and several thousand club seats.
Pros: Private, climate-stable space; catering and premium service; excellent for groups and corporate hosting.
Cons: Not sold as standard single tickets; premium pricing; access usually via package or suite rental.
500 Level (Upper Deck)
Approximately 500s (e.g. 522–526 behind home plate)The uppermost tier circling the bowl, with outfield social spaces and bars added in the renovation. Sections behind home plate (around 522–526) are the most popular value seats; outfield 500s host standing/social areas.
Pros: Cheapest seats in the ballpark; panoramic view of the whole field; lively atmosphere; social bars and standing areas in the outfield.
Cons: Very high and steeply sloped — not ideal for anyone uneasy with heights; distant from the action; outfield-corner 500s have the longest sightlines.
Best seats at Rogers Centre
| For | Sections | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Best overall (baseball) | 100 Level infield, approximately 113–130 behind the dugouts and home plate | The renovated field-level infield sections offer the closest, most direct sightlines to home plate, widened seats and the premium 'In the Action' / dugout experience. |
| Best value | 500 Level behind home plate, approximately 522–526 | Among the cheapest tickets in the building yet centred behind home plate with a full view of the field — the classic value pick for Blue Jays games. |
| Best for shade (roof open) | 200 Level behind home plate and third-base side, approximately 227–231 | These sections are shielded by the deck above and the third-base orientation, keeping fans out of the afternoon sun on warm day games. |
| Best for catching a home run / foul ball | Outfield 100 Level (around 101–103 and 140–142); dugout corners around 113 and 130 | Outfield lower sections sit in home-run territory, while the dugout-corner infield sections give a strong chance at foul balls. |
| Best atmosphere / social | 500 Level outfield social spaces and bars; outfield district near the bullpens | The renovation added bars and standing social areas in the outfield 500 Level, creating the liveliest, most casual atmosphere in the ballpark. |
| Best for concerts | Floor (general admission or front seated blocks) and lower 100 Level facing the stage | For end-stage shows the floor and lower bowl directly facing the stage give the closest, most immersive view; centred lower-tier seats avoid side-stage angles. |
Seats to avoid & obstructed views
- 500 Level outfield corners: Highest and most distant seats in the ballpark, with steep slopes and long, angled sightlines to home plate; not ideal for anyone uncomfortable with heights.
- Deep outfield 100/200 Level corners: Re-oriented but still set at sharp angles to the infield; the action at home plate is far away and partly side-on.
- Concert seats behind and to the extreme sides of the stage: For end-stage concerts these are restricted or limited-view and are often curtained off; if sold, expect an obstructed or rear-of-stage angle.
- Rearmost overhung rows under the 200 Level: The deck overhang above can cut off the top of the view, including the upper deck and parts of the roof structure or video board.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best seats at Rogers Centre for a Blue Jays game?
The best overall seats are in the renovated 100 Level infield, roughly sections 113–130, directly behind the dugouts and home plate. These give the closest, most direct sightlines to the field. If you want premium, the 'In the Action' / dugout seats and the 200 Level club behind home plate are the top hospitality options.
What are the cheapest seats at Rogers Centre?
The cheapest tickets are in the 500 Level upper deck. The sections behind home plate (around 522–526) offer the best value — low prices with a full, centred view of the field. Outfield 100/200 Level corners are also among the more affordable options.
Where are the best seats for shade at Rogers Centre when the roof is open?
When the roof is open, the shadiest seats are on the 200 Level behind home plate and on the third-base side (around sections 227–231), where the deck above provides cover. The first-base side gets the most sun during afternoon games.
Is Rogers Centre accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes. Accessible and companion seating is available across the 100, 200 and 500 Levels, with the designated accessible entrance at Gate 7. Accessible Support Ushers provide wheelchair escorts (wheelchairs are not rented). You can buy up to three companion seats with each accessible seat; contact Fan Services in advance to arrange assistance.
Does Rogers Centre have a roof, and will my game be rained out?
Rogers Centre has a fully retractable roof made up of four panels that opens or closes in around 20–30 minutes, so events are very rarely cancelled due to weather. The roof may be open or closed depending on conditions, which also affects sun and shade in the seats.
What is the capacity of Rogers Centre?
After the 2022–2024 renovations, baseball capacity is approximately 39,150. For concerts the venue can be configured for anywhere from a few thousand up to around 55,000 depending on the stage setup and production.
Where are the best seats for a concert at Rogers Centre?
For end-stage concerts, the floor (general admission or front seated blocks) and the lower 100 Level sections facing the stage give the closest, most immersive experience. Aim for centred lower-tier seats and avoid sections behind or to the extreme sides of the stage, which are often curtained off or limited view.
