COMPUTEX Taipei 2027 gathers the global computing and AI ecosystem at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in early June, drawing around 86,000 visitors from tech's every corner. Organised by TAITRA, the show has evolved from a PC-components fair into the industry's premier stage for AI infrastructure, semiconductors, servers and next-generation hardware — chip-industry CEOs deliver headline keynotes here, and the InnoVEX zone showcases hundreds of start-ups. Buyers, ODM engineers, channel partners, analysts and media descend on Nangang, a district on Taipei's eastern edge with limited hotel stock of its own, which pushes demand into Xinyi and the Taipei Main Station area and sends citywide rates climbing for show week. This guide covers the specifics that matter for COMPUTEX: Taoyuan airport connections, the two MRT lines terminating at the venue's door, Taiwan's visa and arrival-card rules, and attendee tactics — alongside live, bookable hotel rates.

Popular areas for attendees: Nangang · Xinyi District · Taipei Main Station.

  • Hotels ranked by real MRT travel time to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center station, not just district labels
  • Live 4–5 star rates across Nangang, Xinyi and Taipei Main Station for the show dates
  • Free-cancellation rates prioritised so you can book before keynote schedules and meeting plans settle
  • Instant tax invoice for simple corporate expensing

Getting there

From Taoyuan International (TPE)

  • The Taoyuan Airport MRT express reaches Taipei Main Station in about 36–40 minutes for roughly NT$150; from there the Blue (Bannan) Line runs direct to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center station in around 25 minutes
  • Faster option: transfer at the airport line's Taoyuan HSR station and take the high-speed rail to Nangang terminus, a few minutes' walk from the venue, with a total journey often under an hour
  • A metered taxi from TPE to Nangang takes 50–60 minutes and costs roughly NT$1,200–1,500 depending on traffic
  • Grab an EasyCard at the airport MRT station — it covers metro, buses and convenience-store purchases across Taipei

From Songshan Airport (TSA)

  • Taipei's downtown airport handles regional routes from Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Gimpo, Shanghai Hongqiao and domestic cities
  • Songshan Airport station sits on the Brown (Wenhu) Line, which runs direct to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in roughly 25–30 minutes
  • A taxi from TSA to Nangang takes about 20–30 minutes outside rush hour
  • If your itinerary allows a regional connection into TSA, it beats TPE for sheer proximity during COMPUTEX week

Getting around during COMPUTEX Taipei

Getting to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center daily

  • Two MRT lines terminate at the venue's own station: the Blue (Bannan) Line from Taipei Main and Xinyi's edge, and the Brown (Wenhu) Line from Songshan and Neihu
  • Blue Line trains into Nangang are crammed between 08:30 and 09:30 on show days; the Brown Line is usually the calmer approach
  • Taxis and Uber work well in Taipei but queue heavily at the exhibition centre at closing — walking one MRT stop away first is often faster
  • Halls 1 and 2 of the exhibition centre are separate buildings a few minutes' walk apart, so check which hall your meetings are in before setting out

Around Taipei

  • An EasyCard or the equivalent mobile payment covers the entire MRT and bus network; fares are inexpensive and trains run until midnight
  • Early June is hot and humid with frequent afternoon downpours — carry a compact umbrella and plan around the MRT's covered connections
  • Xinyi's hotel and restaurant district is about 15–20 minutes from Nangang by Blue Line plus a short transfer or taxi hop
  • Traffic on the Civic Boulevard and Zhongxiao corridors thickens during COMPUTEX; the MRT is almost always the faster bet at peak

Visa & entry

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Nationals of the US, UK, Canada, EU states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea enter Taiwan visa-free, most for up to 90 days
  • Singapore and Malaysia passport holders get visa-free entry for 30 days, and a trial programme has granted Thailand, the Philippines and Brunei short visa-free stays — confirm its status for your dates
  • All foreign visitors must submit the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) within seven days before landing; the paper form has been phased out

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of India, Vietnam, Indonesia and several Southeast Asian countries holding valid visas or residence permits from countries such as the US, UK, Japan or Schengen states can apply online for a Travel Authorization Certificate instead of a full visa
  • Other nationalities need a visitor visa from a Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), and business applicants should include event documentation
  • Visitors from mainland China fall under a separate entry-permit system with different lead times

Documents to carry

  • Passport validity of at least six months, your COMPUTEX badge registration confirmation, and any TAITRA or exhibitor invitation letter
  • Proof of your return or onward ticket, which airlines check at boarding for visa-free entries
  • The confirmation of your submitted Taiwan Arrival Card, saved offline in case of patchy signal at immigration

Taiwan's entry programmes, including trial visa waivers, are reviewed regularly — verify current rules with the Bureau of Consular Affairs or your nearest TECO before booking.

First time at COMPUTEX Taipei?

  • Pre-register online for your badge and save the QR code — on-site registration lines on the opening morning are long, and the keynote crowds compound them
  • Keynotes by the major chip and AI companies fill to capacity; arrive well before the published start or expect overflow-room viewing
  • Learn the two-building layout early: the main exhibits sprawl across multiple floors of Hall 1, while Hall 2 houses further exhibits and the InnoVEX start-up area
  • Book your hotel before your flights — Nangang itself has very few hotels, and the convenient Xinyi and Main Station properties sell out fastest
  • Tuesday and Wednesday are the heaviest days; schedule your most important stand visits for calmer afternoons

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The Brown Line beats the Blue Line into Nangang at rush hour almost every time — regulars route via Songshan and Neihu
  • The final day winds down early, but it is the best window for unrushed technical conversations with engineers who were mobbed earlier in the week
  • The CityLink mall attached to Nangang station and nearby convenience stores are faster and better lunch options than in-hall queues
  • The week's real networking happens at vendor-hosted evening events in Xinyi hotels — accept invitations early because guest lists close fast

COMPUTEX Taipei travel FAQs

When is COMPUTEX Taipei 2027?

COMPUTEX Taipei takes place 1 June to 4 June 2027 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

Where is COMPUTEX Taipei held?

COMPUTEX Taipei is held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan. The nearest airport is TPE.

Where should I stay for COMPUTEX Taipei?

Nangang has only a handful of hotels, so most attendees choose Xinyi for its dining and nightlife with a 15–20 minute connection to the venue, or the Taipei Main Station area for one-seat Blue Line access in about 25 minutes. Anything on the Blue or Brown Line keeps the commute painless.

How much do hotels cost during COMPUTEX?

Rates across central Taipei rise substantially for show week — often 50–100 percent above normal June levels — and the few Nangang-adjacent properties carry the steepest premiums. Taipei remains cheaper than comparable weeks in Tokyo or Singapore, but convenience costs.

How early should I book hotels for COMPUTEX?

Two to four months out is the practical window for well-located rooms, and industry regulars book as soon as the dates confirm. With free cancellation there is little reason to wait — late bookers end up commuting from far along the MRT lines.

Which airport do I fly into for COMPUTEX?

Taoyuan International (TPE) handles nearly all long-haul arrivals, with an Airport MRT and high-speed rail combination reaching Nangang in around an hour. Songshan (TSA), on the Brown Line direct to the venue, is worth choosing if you can route via a regional connection such as Tokyo Haneda or Seoul Gimpo.

Do I need to register in advance to attend COMPUTEX?

Yes — COMPUTEX is a trade show and visitors register online with professional details before or during the event. Pre-registering saves significant queuing time and is required to access keynote reservations and matchmaking services.

How are the weekly payments taken?

Automatically. After your first payment, each weekly payment is charged to your saved card, and we send you a reminder 2 days before every charge. Can I pay early?

Yes. Sign in to your Event Escapes account at any time and pay off your remaining balance in one payment, whenever it suits you. There is never a fee for paying early.
