Sunday 17 January 2027 Australian Open Annex CourtsUpdated Sunday 8 November 2026
24 hotels from our mapped pool sit within 8 km of Australian Open Annex Courts, 6 of them within a 15 minute walk. Closest are Mantra On Jolimont Melbourne (7 min), Pullman East Melbourne (12 min), Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne on Flinders (13 min). Next up at the venue: Day 1 on Sunday 17 January 2027. For that night the cheapest listed room starts around A$190 per night and the median is A$500, +127% against a normal A$220 night. Rates sampled 8 Nov 2026.
Melbourne Park's outer show courts draw a different crowd to the main arena, but the ground rules for where to sleep stay the same. The closest bed is just 0.42 kilometres out, in East Melbourne, and across the whole hub 5 of the 24 hotels listed sit within an easy walk. Most of that choice sits in Melbourne CBD, a short ride away for anyone not fussed about walking, with options from three-star apartments to five-star hotels. South Melbourne offers one more four-star alternative a short ride out. If you want to roll out of bed and be at the courts in minutes, East Melbourne is your only true walking base. If you want more restaurants, bars and a bigger hotel selection, CBD does the job. Day sessions during a Grand Slam fill rooms fast, and the closer, walkable properties go first, so treat early booking as standard practice rather than a bonus.
Australian Open Annex Courts run from Day 1 on 17 January 2027 through to Day 8 on 24 January 2027, a full eight-day stretch. With only 5 of the 24 listed hotels walkable to the courts, those rooms are the first to disappear each year. Lock in dates early, especially if you want East Melbourne or a walkable CBD base rather than a short ride in.
Areas are the supplier zones our mapped hotels fall into, ordered by distance to the venue. Prices are the median event-night rate for the hotels we list in that area.
1 hotel · 0.4 to 0.4 km · 1 walkable
Just one hotel here, but it is the closest to the courts at 0.42 kilometres and genuinely walkable. Suits anyone who wants to walk in and out each day without thinking about transport, and who is happy with a single four-star option rather than a wide pick of hotels.
4-star hotels listed
22 hotels · 0.8 to 1.2 km · 5 walkable
The main event-night base, with 22 hotels ranging from three to five stars and distances of 0.83 to 1.22 kilometres. Four of these are walkable, the rest a short ride away. Suits travellers who want choice, city buzz and options beyond the tennis.
3 to 5 star hotels listed
1 hotel · 1.2 to 1.2 km · 0 walkable
A single four-star hotel at 1.2 kilometres, a short ride rather than a walk to the courts. Suits visitors happy to rely on transport each day in exchange for a quieter base away from the main CBD crowds.
4-star hotels listed
Per-night prices are our lowest sampled rate for the event window versus a normal night three weeks out. Walking times use about 12 minutes per kilometre over a street route 30% longer than a straight line. Anything over 15 minutes is shown as a ride.

Special late night buses depart from a stop near Federation Square after play ends, supplementing extended train and tram services for the journey home. Night buses generally run from around half past midnight until the early hours on weeknights during the tournament.
The official rideshare pick up and drop off point for services such as Uber is located outside John Cain Arena on Olympic Boulevard, while a taxi rank sits nearby next to the Grand Slam Oval or Melbourne Park Oval. Visitors are asked not to request a rideshare until they reach the pick up point to reduce congestion.
Paid parking for the precinct, which includes access to the outer show courts, is available at the Eastern Plaza Car Park reached through Entrance D on Olympic Boulevard. Pre booking is strongly recommended because drive up spaces are limited and bookings close the night before an event.
