Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve sits out on Notre Dame Island in Parc Jean-Drapeau, which shapes how you stay for the Canadian Grand Prix. Of the 24 hotels in this guide, 11 are walkable, and the closest sits just 2.06 kilometres from the track. Downtown Montreal holds the bulk of the choice, with 22 hotels and 10 of them walkable, ranging from three-star to four-star properties. It suits fans who want restaurants, nightlife and easy access to the rest of the city once the race is done. Longueuil-Brossard, across the water, offers only two hotels and a single walkable option, a quieter alternative for those happy to rely on the island's transport links. Race weekend, running from 21 to 23 May 2027, draws big crowds to a relatively small island, so rooms near the circuit get booked out well ahead of the Grand Prix. If you want to walk to the gates rather than rely on transport, downtown is where most of that option lives.
Book early for the 21 to 23 May 2027 weekend. Only 11 of the 24 hotels in this guide are walkable to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, and that smaller pool fills first. Downtown's 22 hotels give the most choice, but the closest options near 2.06 kilometres move quickly. Decide on walking versus transport before you book, then lock in your room.

Jean-Drapeau metro station on the Yellow Line is the closest stop to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, reached in one stop from downtown's Berri-UQAM. From Jean-Drapeau it's roughly fifteen to twenty minutes on foot to the hairpin grandstands, with some stands further round the circuit taking thirty minutes or more. Over race weekend the STM runs Yellow Line trains about every four minutes, with extra staff at Jean-Drapeau and Berri-UQAM. Parc Jean-Drapeau goes car free for the event, so there's no spectator parking and driving isn't recommended. Taxis and rideshares drop off on Saint Helen's Island rather than Notre Dame Island itself. Free shuttle buses, including the 777, link the metro exit to areas within the park. From the airport, the 747 Express bus runs around the clock to Berri-UQAM, connecting to the Yellow Line.

During the Grand Prix weekend the STM increases service on the Yellow Line so that trains run about every four minutes, and extra staff are deployed at busy stations such as Jean-Drapeau and Berri-UQAM to help with fares and crowd flow.

Parc Jean-Drapeau is closed to private cars for the event and no designated public parking is provided for spectators at the circuit itself. Driving is therefore not recommended as a way to reach the venue.

Taxis and rideshare vehicles cannot drop off or collect passengers directly on Notre Dame Island itself on event days. Dedicated pick up and drop off points are instead located on the neighbouring Saint Helen's Island, near the ferry terminal and the Concorde Bridge area.

Special STM shuttle buses run from Jean-Drapeau station to different areas inside Parc Jean-Drapeau during race weekend to cut down on walking, and a free 777 bus also links the metro exit to the Casino area.
