Travelling to Munich with a pet
What are the dog rules on MVG transport in Munich?+
Dogs must be kept on a short lead in vehicles and stations. A muzzle is required if a dog could endanger passengers, and dogs covered by Bavaria's dangerous dog regulation are not admitted. Regional train rules differ from the city network.
Do pet friendly hotels charge extra for pets?+
Many pet friendly hotels charge a small cleaning fee, per stay or per night, while others welcome pets for free. Any fee, plus size or number limits, is shown on each hotel before you book.
How do I know a hotel really accepts pets?+
Every hotel and stay listed here has a pet policy we have checked in our supplier data: room types marked as pets allowed, or a written hotel pet policy. Hotels that only take pets on request are left out. Any size limit and fee is shown on the hotel page before you book.
What should I pack when travelling with a dog?+
Bring your pet vaccination and microchip records, a familiar bed or blanket, food, bowls, a lead and waste bags. For international trips, check the entry and pet passport rules for your destination well ahead of travel.
Can I leave my dog alone in the hotel room?+
Policies vary. Some hotels allow it if the dog is crated and quiet, others do not. Check the hotel pet policy, and consider a local dog sitter for longer days out.
