Baumesse Essen, the building, home, renovation and energy saving fair, opens the new year at Messe Essen from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 January 2027, open from 10:00 to 18:00 each day. It is a public fair for homeowners, families, keen DIYers and anyone planning a project, with mostly regional firms that know the Ruhr's buildings, from heat pumps, solar panels and windows to bathrooms, kitchens, garden design and break-in protection, plus free talks in two programmes. For 2027 the organiser expects almost 250 exhibitors on around 12,000 square metres, filling Halls 7 and 8 completely for the first time, entered through the East entrance. The 2026 edition drew nearly 20,000 visitors and around 230 exhibitors. For exhibitors, stand teams and visitors travelling from further afield, a hotel near the halls makes a three day weekend easy. Messe Essen sits in Rüttenscheid beside the Grugapark, five minutes from Essen Hauptbahnhof on the U11, so Baumesse Essen hotels in Rüttenscheid and around the main station both work well. This page shows live Essen hotel rates for your dates; admission is arranged separately with the organiser.
