It combines a trade fair, a conference and a showcase festival: labels, agencies, bookers, festival makers, media and musicians meet in Halls 6 and 7, while 38 showcase concerts play in Hall 7 and the neighbouring Kulturzentrum Schlachthof. It is held every April, and the organiser counted around 3,300 professional participants from 66 nations in 2025. The jazzahead! Festival spreads concerts across Bremen around the fair, and the CLUBNIGHT fills 45 clubs in Bremen on 23 April and in Bremerhaven and Bremen Nord on 24 April, so the city is busy with music fans as well as professionals. The Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) are the 2027 partner region. From Bremen Airport (BRE)
- Bremen Airport Hans Koschnick is about 20 minutes from the exhibition centre by tram or taxi, according to the organiser
- Tram line 6 runs from the Bremen Airport stop to Hauptbahnhof-Nord/Messe, which the organiser lists about 750 m from the halls
- BSAG, Bremen's public transport operator, publishes the timetables and sells the tickets for the tram and buses
By rail and road
- The organiser puts the exhibition grounds 279 steps from the main railway station: leave Bremen Hauptbahnhof through the north exit and cross the Bürgerweide square to the halls
- Deutsche Bahn and metronom regional trains serve Bremen Hauptbahnhof
- By car, the A1 and A27 motorways reach Bremen and a traffic guidance system leads you to Messe Bremen, but the organiser warns of congestion on the Bürgerweide and recommends nearby car parks or park and ride
- Park and ride sites at Universität (Uni I), Grolland and Hinterm Sielhof connect to the Messe by tram, and the organiser lists several city car parks near the station

Getting around jazzahead! each day
- The trade fair and conference run from 10:00 to 18:00, Thursday to Saturday, in Halls 6 and 7 and the Schlachthof
- The showcases run from noon to midnight on all three days in Hall 7 and Kulturzentrum Schlachthof, next to the exhibition centre
- Hauptbahnhof-Nord/Messe is served by trams 5, 6 and 8 and buses 26 and 27; bus 25 stops at Theodor-Heuss-Allee
- Two taxi ranks serve the exhibition grounds, at the Hauptbahnhof north side and at the ÖVB-Arena by the Maritim Hotel, both open around the clock

Do you need a visa for jazzahead!?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Germany is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- The German Federal Foreign Office lists citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries as needing no visa for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
- ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through German missions or their appointed visa centres
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- The jazzahead! pages we checked do not describe a visa letter service, so ask the organiser early if you need a supporting letter; showcasing artists have their own contact in the showcase team

- Professional participants register online until 14 April 2027; all day passes cost €205 plus VAT in the autumn rate (to 30 November 2026), rising to €220 and then €235, and one day passes (€115 plus VAT) go on sale on 1 December 2026
- After 14 April a walk-up registration is possible from 21 April online or on site from 22 April, with a €20 plus VAT surcharge and no stand affiliation
- Registration includes the trade fair, the conference and all showcases on your registered days, plus Wi-Fi and a reduced price CLUBNIGHT ticket
- Only here for the music? Showcase and CLUBNIGHT tickets go on presale through Nordwest Ticket, expected from November 2026, and are sold on site; the organiser says buying early avoids last minute prices
- Badges and the jazzahead! bag are handed out at the venue, so allow time on the first morning
