Space-Comm Expo Europe returns to ExCeL London on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 February 2027. The organiser describes it as the European space event where commercial space companies meet the governments, defence programmes and investors shaping the industry, and cites more than 6,000 attendees, over 250 exhibitors and 50 space nations represented. Alongside the expo floor, a paid conference runs across four stages with more than 120 sessions and six roundtables, from keynotes to defence and national security, intergovernmental and space technology. It is a professional trade show: the expo floor is free, government, military and press visitors get full access free once verified, students may visit the floor on the afternoon of day two, and under 18s are not permitted. ExCeL sits on the Royal Docks in east London with its own Elizabeth line and DLR stations, so the Royal Docks, Canary Wharf, Stratford and central London near the Elizabeth line are the practical bases for Space-Comm Expo hotels. How do you get to Space-Comm Expo Europe?

From London airports

  • London City Airport (LCY) is the closest airport: ExCeL puts it a 15 minute walk away or a short journey by DLR, bus or taxi, with flights to more than 30 destinations across Europe
  • From Heathrow (LHR), Elizabeth line trains towards Abbey Wood run through central London and Canary Wharf to Custom House; Heathrow says four trains an hour run direct from Terminal 4 to Abbey Wood and four of the six an hour at Terminals 2 and 3 run to Abbey Wood
  • The organiser points out that London is served by six major airports: City, Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton and Southend
  • From Gatwick, Stansted, Luton or Southend, take the airport rail link into London and connect to the Elizabeth line, the Jubilee line or the DLR

By rail and road

  • ExCeL says the Elizabeth line and the DLR are the quickest routes to the venue: get off at Custom House for the West Entrance or Prince Regent for the ICC and the East Entrance
  • Arriving by train from elsewhere in the UK? The organiser and ExCeL both say it is a short hop from any London rail station
  • If you drive, the only way to guarantee a parking space is to pre-book, and the car park is reached only from the A13; the organiser gives postcode E16 1FR for the car park entrance
  • The Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels are tolled, and ExCeL is inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), so check charges before you drive

How do you get around during Space-Comm Expo Europe?

Getting to ExCeL each day

  • Custom House station (Elizabeth line and DLR) is about 200 metres from ExCeL's West Entrance, the entrance the organiser lists for the show
  • Prince Regent DLR is about 200 metres from the East Entrance and about 1 km from Custom House if you walk through the venue
  • From the Jubilee line, the organiser says to take the DLR from Canning Town towards Beckton and get off at Custom House or Prince Regent; it puts the walk from Canning Town at about 20 minutes
  • ExCeL also has its own cable car station, and the venue says visitors with a confirmation email or ticket get 50 percent off a single cable car or river fare

Around London

  • The organiser says contactless bank cards work on the Tube, DLR, London Overground, buses and most National Rail services in London for the same price as an Oyster fare
  • Canary Wharf is one Elizabeth line stop from Custom House and has plenty of restaurants for dinners after a show day
  • From Stratford, the Jubilee line and the DLR both run to Canning Town for the Beckton branch to ExCeL
  • Central London hotels near Elizabeth line stations such as Liverpool Street or Farringdon suit visitors with meetings in Westminster or the City

Do you need a visa for Space-Comm Expo Europe?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • British and Irish passport holders do not need an ETA or a visa
  • Most visitors who do not need a visa, including those from Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel
  • An ETA costs £20 and lets you visit the UK for up to six months; apply only through GOV.UK, as other websites may charge more
  • Each person travelling needs their own ETA, including babies and children

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals who are not eligible for an ETA need a Standard Visitor visa to attend Space-Comm Expo Europe; check your nationality on GOV.UK
  • A Standard Visitor visa costs £135 for up to six months, and the earliest you can apply is three months before you travel
  • GOV.UK allows visitors to attend conferences and trade fairs to promote their business, but you cannot sell things at a trade fair or do paid work for a UK client
  • The organiser's FAQ explains how to request a visa letter by email once you have booked, so ask early if you need one

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for your whole stay, the same one you used for your ETA or visa
  • Your Space-Comm Expo pass and your hotel booking; students coming on day two need their student ID
  • A letter from your employer setting out the purpose of the trip, in case the Border Force officer asks

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements on GOV.UK before you book.

First time at Space-Comm Expo Europe?

  • Doors open at 9:00 on both days and the show closes in the late afternoon; the organiser's pages give slightly different closing times, so check them before you book an evening flight on day two
  • The free Expo Pass, which covers the exhibition floor and the event app, was listed as opening soon when we checked; the Conference Pass was on sale at an early-bird £399 plus VAT until 13 January 2027, rising to £499 plus VAT from 14 January
  • Government, military and press visitors do not need to buy a pass: register with your official email and the organiser verifies you before giving free full access
  • Students can visit the exhibition floor free on Thursday 25 February from 12:00 only, with student ID, and under 18s are not permitted on site
  • No pass includes food and drink, but there are cafés and restaurants across ExCeL

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The organiser warns that emails offering to sell a Space-Comm attendee list are a scam and are not sent by the organisers
  • Venue cloakrooms are free while the show is open, but they cannot take laptops, cameras or other electronics, and nothing can be left overnight
  • ExCeL often runs several events at once, so Royal Docks hotels next to the venue go first; Canary Wharf and Stratford offer more choice a few stops away
