The penultimate round of 2027 — and a Sprint weekend under the Lusail floodlights. Qatar’s night race on the fast, flowing desert circuit north of Doha has become a fixture of the title run-in, and December in the Gulf is near-perfect spectating weather.
The 5.419 km Lusail International Circuit is a fast, flowing layout built for bike racing and loved by F1 drivers: a long main straight, then a relentless sequence of medium and high-speed corners where commitment matters more than bravery. The floodlit desert setting gives it a glow like nowhere else, and the smooth surface keeps tyres alive long enough for aggressive strategies. Overtaking concentrates into Turn 1 at the end of the straight.
