Sepang International CircuitUpdated Wednesday 21 October 2026
13 hotels from our mapped pool sit within 15 km of Sepang International Circuit, 1 of them within a 40-minute walk. Closest are Sri Enstek Hotel (52 min). Rates sampled 21 Oct 2026.
Sepang International Circuit sits well outside the city, so this isn't a walk-to-the-grandstand kind of race weekend. Only one of the 13 hotels listed gets you there on foot, and even that's a 52-minute walk, so most people are arranging their own way in. Sepang itself holds the bulk of the options, eight hotels ranging from simple three-star stays to the five-star Movenpick, spread between 3.17 and 8.26 kilometres from the circuit. Further out, Putrajaya and Seremban offer a bit more distance and a different feel, useful if you want quieter nights away from race-weekend traffic. The lone Outskirt Hotels property sits at 5.33 kilometres, a straightforward three-star option. If you want the shortest run to the gates, Sri Enstek Hotel at 3.17 kilometres is as close as it gets. Race weekends here pull a specific crowd, and the closer rooms in Sepang tend to fill first, so don't expect to find something nearby if you leave it until the last minute.
Only one of the 13 hotels near Sepang International Circuit is walkable, so the closest rooms go fast once a race weekend is announced. Lock in Sepang's eight hotels early if proximity matters, especially those under 8.26 kilometres out. Putrajaya and Seremban give you a fallback with more stars to choose from if Sepang fills first.
Areas are the supplier zones our mapped hotels fall into, ordered by distance to the venue. Prices are the median event-night rate for the hotels we list in that area.

Spectators can take the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit train from KL Sentral to KLIA, with the non-stop Ekspres taking around 28 to 33 minutes. On non-race days public transport onward from the airport is limited, so travellers are advised to plan shuttle, taxi or e-hailing connections for the final leg.

During the Formula One weekend RapidKL operates around 95 free shuttle buses to the circuit roughly every 10 to 15 minutes from 7am to midnight across all three days, with no ticket or booking required. Pickup points include KLIA Terminal 2 Level 1 bus hub, the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA bus hub, the KLIA Long Term Car Park and Bandar Baru Enstek.
All cars entering the Sepang venue for the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix needed a valid parking pass, and cars without one were not permitted near the circuit. Several zones, including the premium PA1, P2 and P3 areas, sold out ahead of the event, and passes had to be collected in advance from Mitsui Outlet Park.
Only public taxis, Grab and Limousine KLIA are permitted to travel directly to the circuit, while standard four-seater Grab bookings, advance bookings and group rides must instead be set to one of four designated shuttle hubs. For the return journey spectators are directed to a taxi and e-hailing rank on the western side of the circuit near the Go Kart and Concert Area, rather than the main entrance.

Police enforced daily traffic diversions from 8am to 11pm throughout the Sepang event, with road users urged to follow directed alternative routes. Checkpoints along approach roads, including the KLIA toll plaza and nearby roundabouts, checked tickets and parking passes.
Sepang International Circuit is located beside Kuala Lumpur International Airport, roughly 3.5 kilometres from the terminal, making KLIA Terminal 2 the natural arrival point since both the KLIA Ekspres and the race shuttle hub depart from there. Terminal 1 is a separate building requiring an inter-terminal shuttle before connecting to the train or circuit bus.
KLIA advised that parking at Terminal 1 and the KLIA Long Term Car Park was extremely limited and expected to reach full capacity early each day during the race weekend. Visitors were strongly advised not to drive to KLIA intending to park there before heading to the circuit.

Grab set up shaded waiting tents, cooling fans and a physical queue management system called PIN and RIDE at the Long Term Car Park to help spectators leave after the race, with a free shuttle running continuously between the circuit and the car park. Despite this, reports noted that Grab pickups directly at the circuit itself remained very difficult after sessions.

We sample event-night rates for every listed hotel and publish the median against a normal night once both dates have been quoted. Use the live search for today's exact prices.
Stay as close as your budget allows: 1 listed hotels are walkable, which removes the post-event transport crush. Hotels further into Kuala Lumpur are usually cheaper on the event night and still a short ride away. The areas section above lists each zone with its distance band and median event-night price.
Hotels within 15 km of the circuit are limited (13 listed) and are the first to sell out; city-centre hotels offer more choice and rely on the event transport. Compare the event-night and normal-night columns above before deciding.
0 of the 13 listed hotels returned at least one free-cancellation rate for the event window. Refundable rates are usually a little higher than the lead rate; the hotel page shows both.
Yes. Event Escapes sells tickets and hotels for Kuala Lumpur events, and packages combine the two with pay-weekly instalments where available.
Hotel distances are straight-line from the venue; walking times are estimates. Event-night and normal-night prices are the lowest rates our systems sampled for two adults on the dates shown and include our service fee; live availability and prices at checkout may differ. Event details come from the ticketing feed.
