Allianz ArenaSeating Guide: Where to Sit & Best Seats
The Allianz Arena, FC Bayern Munich's home, holds 75,000 for Bundesliga matches (including the standing Südkurve) and about 70,000 all-seated for international games, under its famous colour-shifting inflated-panel façade. Seating is three clean tiers — Unterrang, Mittelrang, Oberrang — with no pillars and excellent sightlines everywhere. The best seats are the central Mittelrang blocks on either sideline; Bayern's ultras stand in the lower Südkurve behind the south goal. The arena sits at Fröttmaning on the U6 metro, 20 minutes from central Munich.

Seating map
This is the map used for ticket sales at Allianz Arena. Exact configuration varies by event.
Configurations
Bundesliga — with standing Südkurve
League capacity 75,000 with the lower south end as safe-standing terracing for Bayern’s ultras. The loudest, most colourful configuration.
International / Champions League — all-seater
The standing areas convert to seats, capacity ~70,000. Atmosphere shifts slightly but the Südkurve blocks remain the singing end.
Concerts / special events
Occasional end-stage shows use the pitch as the floor; the bowl geometry stays the same with seats behind the stage unsold.
Seating levels explained
Unterrang (Lower Tier)Blocks 1xx
The lower ring, gently raked and close to the pitch; includes the Südkurve terrace in league mode.
Pros: Closest to the players; the standing Südkurve is the beating heart of Bayern support.
Cons: The gentle rake means back lower rows lose a little clarity; end blocks are end-on.
Mittelrang (Middle Tier)Blocks 2xx
The premium middle ring, home to the best sightlines and club/hospitality seats.
Pros: Ideal elevation — central 2xx sideline blocks are the best views in the arena.
Cons: Much of the central middle is business/club seating; open blocks price accordingly.
Oberrang (Upper Tier)Blocks 3xx
The steep top ring with a panoramic view of the bowl and its glowing shell.
Pros: Great value; the steep rake keeps sightlines clear; front Oberrang rows are genuinely good.
Cons: High and distant at the back; the climb is noticeable.

|---|---|---|
| Best overall | Central Mittelrang sideline blocks (2xx), halfway line | Perfect elevation and balance — the definitive Allianz Arena view. |

| Atmosphere | Südkurve lower blocks (south end) and neighbours | Bayern’s standing ultras section — flags, drums and 90 minutes of noise. |
| With kids / comfort | Mittelrang corner blocks | Covered, easy access, full-pitch view without premium-central prices. |
Seats to avoid & obstructed views
- Back rows of the Oberrang ends: The furthest seats — fine sightlines but the pitch reads small.
- Lowest front rows at pitch corners: Flat, low view with advertising boards in the near sightline.
- Behind-stage blocks at concerts: Unsold or restricted-view depending on production.
Accessibility & companion seating
Around 200 wheelchair positions with companion seats spread through the lower tier, barrier-free entrances, lifts and adapted facilities; book through FC Bayern’s or the arena’s accessible-ticket service in advance.
Where: Wheelchair platforms around the Unterrang concourse with companion seating.

Frequently asked questions
What is the capacity?
75,000 for Bundesliga matches including the standing Südkurve; around 70,000 all-seated for international and UEFA fixtures where standing is not permitted.
Why does the stadium change colour?
The façade is made of inflated ETFE panels lit by LEDs — red for Bayern, and other colours for special occasions. It is worth arriving at dusk to watch it glow.
Where do Bayern’s ultras stand?
The Südkurve — the lower tier behind the south goal. It is standing terracing in league mode: expect to stand the whole match if you buy there.
Are all seats covered?
Yes — the roof covers every seat, though wind-blown rain can touch the front rows.
Where do away fans sit?
The away sector is in the north-east corner across lower and upper blocks, with its own segregated entrance.
How do I get there?
U6 to Fröttmaning (about 20 minutes from Marienplatz), then a 10–15 minute signed walk. Driving is possible (Europe’s largest stadium car park) but the U-Bahn is faster post-match.
