Barcelona Wine Week (BWW), the trade fair for quality Spanish wine, runs from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 February 2027 in Halls 1 and 2 of Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue, the historic fairground at the foot of Montjuïc that opens onto Plaça d'Espanya. The 2026 edition drew 25,953 visitors, 20% of them from 73 countries, and 1,350 wineries, and for 2027 the organiser expects around 1,300 exhibiting companies from more than 90 designations of origin and other quality labels, with aged wines as the theme of the tastings and talks. This is the Montjuïc site, not Fira Barcelona Gran Via in L'Hospitalet, so the closest Barcelona Wine Week hotels are around Plaça d'Espanya and in Poble-sec, with Sants and the Eixample a short metro ride away on lines L1 and L3. This page shows live hotel rates near the venue for your dates. BWW is for wine and hospitality professionals only, and badges are sold separately by the organiser.

Do you need a visa for Barcelona Wine Week?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Spain is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area for business without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Spain's consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days, so apply as soon as your trip is confirmed

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your BWW badge, printed or in the fair's app, plus your hotel booking and return travel details
  • If you need a visa, keep copies of your invitation letter, travel medical insurance and employer letter in your hand luggage

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Spanish embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at Barcelona Wine Week?

  • Entry is for wine and hospitality professionals only, and the organiser may ask you to prove that you work for a company that buys, sells or provides services to the sector
  • Visitor badges come as 1 day or 3 day passes; the organiser recommends buying online in advance for the discount, and badges cannot be refunded or changed to another date once bought
  • Exhibitors can send a limited number of free, single use e-invitations, so ask the wineries you work with before you buy a badge
  • Each person registers separately with their own email address, and the badge can be shown in the fair's app instead of printed
  • No one under 18 is admitted; the only exception the organiser makes is for mothers with babies up to one year old

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Driving in? Visitors (not exhibitors) get special rates at the Las Arenas car park by showing their badge, according to the organiser
