BATIBOUW, Belgium's largest fair for construction, renovation and interior design, runs at Brussels Expo from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 February 2027. The organiser counted 198,012 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors at the 2026 edition, and describes the fair as a meeting place for professionals and private individuals for more than 65 years. It fills Palaces 5, 6, 7 and 9 and the Patio on the Heysel plateau in the north of Brussels, and metro line 6 stops at Heysel in front of the halls. The fair is open to everyone on all nine days: the organiser marks Thursday 18 February as the professional day, and Friday 19 February is a late opening until 22:00, also open to all. Whether you are planning a build or a renovation, visiting a supplier or working on a stand, the main hotel choice is between Heysel and Laeken, closest to the halls, central Brussels, and the area around Brussels-Midi, where the organiser's own directions start: metro line 6 towards Roi Baudouin to Heysel. This page shows live BATIBOUW hotel rates near Brussels Expo for your dates. Your fair ticket is bought separately from the organiser.

Where should you eat during BATIBOUW?

Brussels Expo/Heysel is in the far north of the city; Metro line 6 runs from Heysel to the centre in about 15 minutes, or a taxi in 15-20. There are solid Belgian brasseries walkable from the halls, but the Michelin tables are a ride into town. Lock those in before you fly for Busworld.

How do you get to BATIBOUW?

From Brussels Airport (BRU)

  • The organiser puts Brussels Expo only 10 minutes from the airport at Zaventem, so a taxi or rideshare is the simplest door to door option
  • Visit Brussels says you can reach the city centre from the airport in twenty minutes, so a central hotel is easy to reach on arrival
  • From the city, ride metro line 6 to Heysel, which the organiser says stops in front of the halls
  • Arriving by train at Brussels-Midi, the organiser's route is metro line 6 towards Roi Baudouin, alighting at Heysel

By train, car and coach

  • Every ticket bought or registered online carries an SNCB code for a Discovery Ticket, a reduced price return train ticket to Brussels-Midi; details are on the organiser's practical information page
  • By car, take exit 7a of the Brussels Ring (R0) and follow the EXPO signs; the organiser says car park C gives direct access to the Heysel halls
  • Brussels Expo has car parks for more than 12,000 cars, with C, M and T closest to the halls; the organiser lists a parking ticket at 12 euros, and buying it online in advance gives you a fast lane
  • Reserved parking for people with reduced mobility is available in car parks C, T, E and H'

How do you get around during BATIBOUW?

Metro, tram and bus to Heysel

  • Metro line 6 stops at Heysel in front of the palaces, and the organiser says buses, trams and metros all stop within 200 metres of the hall entrances
  • Tram 7 (Vanderkindere to Heysel) stops at Heysel in front of the Heysel esplanade, and tram 51 (Van Haelen to Heysel) also serves the plateau
  • Bus 83 (Berchem station to Heysel) and bus 88 (Machtens to Heysel) end at Heysel too
  • STIB runs metro, tram and bus services in Brussels; check its journey planner for the stop nearest your hotel

Choosing where to stay

  • Hotels in Heysel and Laeken keep you closest to the halls, which helps on the professional day and on the late opening on Friday 19 February
  • Central Brussels and the area around Brussels-Midi give more choice for evenings, with metro line 6 to Heysel each morning; check each hotel's distance to a line 6 station on the map
  • Hotels near Brussels Airport suit a short trip, as the organiser puts Brussels Expo 10 minutes from Zaventem
  • Lifts, ramps and plenty of toilets are available at Brussels Expo, and wheelchairs can be borrowed at the secretariat in front of Palace 5 and in the Astrid hall

Do you need a visa for BATIBOUW?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Belgium is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries need no visa for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Belgian embassies, consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • Exhibitors and professional visitors who need a supporting letter should contact the BATIBOUW team early; the visitor pages we checked do not describe a visa letter service

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your BATIBOUW ticket or online registration on your phone or printed, and a bank card, as the ticket desks on site do not take cash
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Belgian embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at BATIBOUW?

  • Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:30 every day, except Friday 19 February, when the fair stays open until 22:00 for everyone
  • The organiser lists adult tickets (16 and over) at 15 euros online and at the door, free entry for children up to 15, and an afternoon ticket valid from 15:00 at 7.50 euros
  • Buy or register online before you go: the organiser strongly recommends it to avoid queues at the entrance, and on site you can pay by card only, not cash
  • BATIBOUW uses Palaces 5, 6, 7 and 9 and the Patio, so look at the floor plan on the organiser's site and plan your route around the stands you need
  • February in Brussels is usually cold and often wet, so bring a warm, waterproof layer for the walk between the metro and the halls

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The Friday late opening until 22:00 suits anyone who works during the day, and the afternoon ticket from 15:00 halves the price of a short visit
  • Exhibitors should check the professional programme before booking nights: in 2026 it included BATIBOUW Business Insights, the BAEXA architecture awards gala, the BATIBOUW PRO NIGHT and Forum Construction around the opening, and the 2027 programme was not yet published when we checked
  • If you come by train from elsewhere in Belgium, use the SNCB code on your online ticket for a Discovery Ticket to Brussels-Midi, then take metro line 6 to Heysel
