AGRIBEX, Belgium's largest trade fair for agriculture, livestock farming, horticulture and green spaces, returns to Brussels Expo at Heysel from Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 December 2027. Organised every two years by Fedagrim, the Belgian federation for agricultural and garden machinery, it is the oldest and largest of the federation's fairs, and the 2025 edition was the 73rd. That edition counted 70,644 visitors and 260 exhibitors, with themed islands on data and smart farming technology, emission reducing techniques, new energies and the agricultural mechanic's workshop, plus robots, sensors and battery powered machines for green space maintenance. The organiser describes AGRIBEX as a pure trade fair for professionals, from farmers and contractors to dealers and landscapers. Ticket and opening details for 2027 had not been published when we checked, as the organiser's new website was still being launched. Brussels Expo sits on metro line 6, so AGRIBEX hotels range from Heysel and Laeken beside the halls to the city centre, Brussels-Midi for Eurostar and TGV arrivals, and the airport at Zaventem. This page shows live rates for your dates; admission is arranged separately with the organiser.

Where should you eat during AGRIBEX?

Brussels Expo/Heysel is in the far north of the city; Metro line 6 runs from Heysel to the centre in about 15 minutes, or a taxi in 15-20. There are solid Belgian brasseries walkable from the halls, but the Michelin tables are a ride into town. Lock those in before you fly for Busworld.

How do you get to AGRIBEX?

From Brussels Airport (BRU) and Charleroi

  • Visit Brussels says a direct train leaves Brussels Airport every 15 minutes, taking 12 minutes to Brussels North, 17 minutes to Brussels Central and 21 minutes to Brussels-Midi
  • Every rail passenger to or from Brussels Airport pays the Diabolo supplement on top of the fare, so check the price before you travel
  • From those stations, continue on metro line 6 to Heysel; Brussels Expo says the metro from Brussels-Midi takes 15 minutes
  • From Brussels South Charleroi Airport, Visit Brussels lists the Brussels City Shuttle twice an hour, about 45 minutes, or a TEC bus and train combination

By train and car

  • Eurostar, TGV and ICE trains arrive at Brussels-Midi, and Visit Brussels says London, Paris, Amsterdam and Cologne are under two hours away by train
  • By car, Brussels Expo says Parking C is reached from exit 7A of the Brussels Ring and offers no less than 10,000 spaces, with a footbridge to the halls
  • Brussels Expo has more than 12,000 parking spaces in all; Parking C and E open depending on the event, so check the venue's site for AGRIBEX days
  • December days are short and can be wet or icy, so allow extra time if you drive in from the farm with a group

How do you get around during AGRIBEX?

Metro, tram and bus to Heysel

  • Brussels Expo says metro line 6 from the city centre reaches the venue directly in a few minutes; get off at Heysel or Koning Boudewijn (Roi Baudouin), depending on the hall
  • The venue lists trams 7 and 62 and buses 83 and N18 at Heysel, tram 9 at Roi Baudouin, and trams 9, 51 and 93 at Stade
  • From the north west, Brussels Expo suggests bus 84 or 89 to the Koning Boudewijn stop
  • Plan return trips on the STIB journey planner, as some tram and bus lines run less often in the evening

Where to stay for AGRIBEX

  • Heysel and Laeken keep you closest to the halls and the Atomium, which helps on long trade days
  • The city centre gives you the most restaurants for dealer and client dinners, with metro line 6 out to Heysel
  • Brussels-Midi suits visitors arriving by Eurostar, TGV or ICE, with the metro to Heysel in about 15 minutes according to the venue
  • Zaventem, by Brussels Airport, suits short trips with early or late flights; check the train times into the city before you book

Do you need a visa for AGRIBEX?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Belgium is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area for business without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Belgian embassies, consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • The organiser's pages we read do not describe a visa letter service; contact the AGRIBEX team through Fedagrim well before you apply if you need a supporting letter

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your AGRIBEX ticket or invitation, once the organiser publishes 2027 ticketing
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Belgian embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at AGRIBEX?

  • AGRIBEX runs every two years, so the December 2027 edition is the next chance to see the Belgian agricultural machinery market in one place after December 2025
  • In 2025 the fair opened with Hospitality Day, a day reserved for contractors and dealers, and the organiser reported good growth on that professional day; check whether 2027 follows the same pattern
  • Ticket prices and opening hours for 2027 had not been published when we checked; watch agribex.be and the organiser's press site
  • Plan by sector: the fair covers farm machinery and precision agriculture, livestock equipment and stable building, and garden and green space machinery
  • Look out for the organiser's novelty awards; in 2025 an expert jury gave Golden Hoof, Silver Hoof, Silver Ear and Silver Boxwood awards

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • There were no animals at AGRIBEX 2025 because of Brussels Region animal welfare rules; the Brussels Livestock Show association says it hopes to return in 2027, so check before you plan a visit around the livestock competitions
  • The 2025 edition ran from Wednesday to Sunday, and the 2027 edition again starts on a Wednesday, so a midweek stay is quieter than the weekend
  • We are independent and not affiliated with AGRIBEX or Fedagrim; you book a named Brussels hotel directly with us at the rate shown
