From CGN (Cologne Bonn Airport)
- S-Bahn line S19 runs direct from the airport to Köln Messe/Deutz in roughly 12–15 minutes — you can be at the fairground faster than at many city-centre hotels
- Trains run frequently through the day; a standard VRS single ticket covers the trip
- Taxis to Deutz or the Altstadt take 15–25 minutes and cost noticeably more than the train
- Ride-hail operates in Cologne but the S19 is hard to beat on this route
From DUS (Düsseldorf Airport) and by rail
- Düsseldorf Airport has a bigger long-haul network; from its rail station, direct RE/IC services reach Cologne in about 45–60 minutes
- Many ICE trains stop at Köln Messe/Deutz itself — check for services calling there to skip crossing the river from the Hauptbahnhof
