11 May – 14 May 2027 Koelnmesse 60,000 attendees
interzum 2027 runs 11–14 May at Koelnmesse in Cologne, and for four days it is the centre of gravity for everyone who supplies the furniture and interiors industry. Around 60,000 trade visitors — component and fittings manufacturers, surface and materials specialists, mattress and upholstery producers, designers and sourcing teams from the big furniture brands — file through the halls, with roughly three quarters travelling in from abroad. That international pull is exactly why Cologne's hotel stock tightens fast: Deutz, the district that literally surrounds the fairground, has a limited number of beds, and anything within one tram stop of the Koelnmesse entrances is typically gone months out. This page pairs the practical logistics — airport transfers, trams, German entry rules — with live, bookable hotel rates near Koelnmesse, so you can compare what is actually available for the biennial edition rather than working from stale price lists.
Popular areas for attendees: Deutz · Altstadt (Old Town) · Mülheim.

Deutz is the prime spot — the fairground is on its doorstep and you can walk to the halls. The Altstadt across the Rhine is the best all-round base, one S-Bahn stop or a bridge walk away, while Mülheim offers better value on tram line 4.
Cologne rates rise sharply during Koelnmesse fairs — often double or more the normal midweek price for anything near Deutz. Because interzum is biennial, demand concentrates hard on that one May week, so the closer to the fair you book, the worse the rate.
Six to nine months ahead is sensible for Deutz and Altstadt properties; exhibitors often book a year out, as soon as stand space is confirmed. Free-cancellation rates let you lock a room early and refine plans later.
Cologne Bonn (CGN) is the local airport with a direct S-Bahn to the fairground in about 15 minutes. For long-haul arrivals, Düsseldorf (DUS) is around 50 minutes away by train and Frankfurt (FRA) about an hour by ICE, both with direct services to Köln Messe/Deutz.
