expopharm, which its organiser calls the leading European trade fair for the pharmacy market, runs from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 September 2027 at Messe Düsseldorf. It is held once a year and alternates between Messe Düsseldorf and Messe München; the 2026 edition was in Munich, so 2027 brings it back to the Rhine. The organiser, Avoxa (Mediengruppe Deutscher Apotheker), a subsidiary of ABDA, the federal union of German pharmacists' associations, puts average attendance at more than 25,000 trade visitors, with around 500 exhibitors and brands and about 200 speakers across five stages. How do you get to expopharm?
From Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
- The organiser puts Düsseldorf Airport about 3 km from Messe Düsseldorf
- Bus 896, from the bus stop on the arrivals level, or a taxi reaches the exhibition grounds in a few minutes, according to the organiser
- A flat taxi fare of €20 applies between the airport and any Messe Düsseldorf entrance, in either direction, day and night
- The city centre and hotels are also quick to reach from the airport, so a central hotel still keeps the airport close
By rail and road
- Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof is about 6 km from Messe Düsseldorf, the organiser says
- From the Hauptbahnhof, tram lines U78 (towards MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord) and U79 (towards Meiderich Südbahnhof) reach the Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße stop in about 15 minutes
- By car, a guidance system leads from Düsseldorf's urban motorway to the car parks, and the organiser lists 12,000 parking spaces on the exhibition grounds
- Visitor parking is in car park P1, with free shuttle buses via the North Entrance to the South Entrance and back

Getting to Messe Düsseldorf each day
- The U78 and U79 from the Hauptbahnhof to Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße are the main public transport route, about 15 minutes according to the organiser
- Bus 722 is an alternative, stopping at Messe Ost or Messe Süd/CCD
- The fair is open to visitors from 09:00 to 18:00 on all three days; exhibitors have access from 07:30 on 28 September and from 08:00 on 29 and 30 September
- Download the organiser's site and hall plans before you go, so you know which entrance is closest to the stages and stands you want
Stockum, Golzheim or the Altstadt?
