5 Apr – 8 Apr 2027 Deutsche Messe (Hannover Exhibition Grounds) 127,000+ attendees
HANNOVER MESSE 2027, running 5-8 April at the Deutsche Messe exhibition grounds, is the world's premier industrial technology fair — the annual reference point for factory automation, energy systems, drive technology, hydrogen and industrial AI. More than 127,000 trade visitors, from plant engineers to government delegations, meet roughly 4,000 exhibitors on one of the largest fairgrounds on earth, south of Hanover's city centre. The catch every regular knows: Hanover is a mid-sized city hosting a mega-fair, so hotel supply is structurally short. City-centre (Mitte) rooms, the Laatzen properties beside the grounds, and the List and Oststadt neighbourhoods all sell through months ahead, and rates climb to multiples of normal levels; many attendees end up commuting from Hildesheim, Braunschweig or Celle. This page gives you live bookable rates across Hanover and its rail-connected alternatives, plus the transit and entry detail to plan the week properly.
Popular areas for attendees: Hannover city centre (Mitte) · Laatzen · List / Oststadt.

Hanover Mitte around the Hauptbahnhof gives you the tram 8/18 line straight to the fair plus the city's restaurants. Laatzen puts you beside the grounds themselves, while List and Oststadt offer quieter mid-range options. When those fill, Braunschweig and Hildesheim with a rail commute are proven fallbacks.
Hanover has one of the sharpest fair-week premiums in Germany because a small city's hotel stock meets one of the world's biggest fairs — multiples of normal rates are routine, and simple properties charge like premium ones. Booking early or staying outside the city are the two escape routes.
Six months or more ahead for anything well located in Hanover itself; regulars book almost a year out. Later bookers should look immediately to the rail-connected towns rather than waiting for city-centre cancellations.
Hannover Airport (HAJ) if it has a route from your hub — it is small but efficient, about 35-40 minutes from the fairground by S-Bahn and tram. Otherwise fly into Frankfurt, Amsterdam or Berlin and finish by ICE train to Hannover Hauptbahnhof.
It is the flagship fair for industrial transformation: factory and process automation, robotics, drive and fluid technology, energy systems including hydrogen, compressed air, and digital and AI-driven manufacturing. It is trade-focused, with buyers ranging from plant engineers to national delegations.
