15 Sept – 20 Sept 2026 Deutsche Messe Hannover 145,000 attendees
IAA Transportation is one of the world's leading commercial-vehicle and logistics trade fairs, held at Deutsche Messe Hannover, Germany's vast exhibition complex. It brings together truck and van manufacturers, trailer and component makers, logistics-tech and electric and hydrogen mobility firms, plus thousands of trade visitors and journalists from across the globe. For a hotel-booking traveller, Hanover is a purpose-built fair city: the grounds are large and well connected by rail and tram, but the hotel stock is limited relative to demand during major fairs, so rooms across Hanover and neighbouring towns fill quickly and prices climb. The venue is easy to reach from Hannover Airport and the main station by S-Bahn and tram, which makes proximity to a rail or tram line more valuable than being right at the halls. Many delegates also stay along regional rail routes toward Hildesheim, Celle and beyond, commuting in for this heavily attended, multi-day industry event.
Popular areas for attendees: Hannover Mitte · Laatzen · Dohren-Wulfel.

Anywhere along a tram or S-Bahn line into Deutsche Messe works well. Near Hannover Hauptbahnhof balances easy venue access with central dining, while nearby towns on regional rail offer value when the city sells out.
Rates rise sharply during major Hanover fairs given tight supply. Expect premiums over normal levels across the city, so book early and consider surrounding towns on the rail network for better value.
Book months ahead. Hanover's limited hotel stock and strong fair demand mean well-located rooms disappear early and prices climb closer to the event.
Hannover Airport (HAJ) is the closest, linked to the city and fairgrounds by S-Bahn and taxi. Frankfurt or other German hubs also connect to Hanover by fast ICE rail.
Take the S-Bahn toward the city and change for the fairgrounds, using the special fair line when it runs, or take a taxi for a roughly 20-30 minute ride to the halls.
