MIDO, the Milano Eyewear Show, is the trade fair for the whole eyewear supply chain, and the 2027 edition runs from Saturday 6 to Monday 8 February 2027 at Fiera Milano Rho, on the north western edge of Milan. Held every year for more than 50 years, it brings together frame and lens makers, machinery and materials, designers and start ups across 7 halls and 8 exhibition areas, from Fashion and Lenses to Design, Tech and the FAiR EAST area. The 2026 edition drew about 42,000 attendees from more than 160 countries and 1,200 exhibitors, the organiser says. MIDO is for eyewear and optical professionals, who register online for an entry pass. The fairground has its own metro terminus on the red M1 line and the Rho Fiera railway station, so you can stay close to the halls or in central Milan near an M1 stop. This page shows live MIDO Milan hotel rates for your dates; your entry pass is arranged separately with the organiser.

How do you get to MIDO Eyewear Show?

From Milan's airports

  • From Malpensa (MXP), the organiser suggests the Malpensa Express train to Milano Cadorna and then the red M1 metro to Rho Fieramilano; buses to the fairground also run
  • From Linate (LIN), take the blue M4 metro to San Babila and change to the red M1 for Rho Fieramilano, the organiser says
  • From Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), take a bus to Milano Centrale, then the green M2 to Cadorna and the red M1 to Rho Fieramilano
  • In 2026 MIDO ran free buses from outside the East Gate to Malpensa Terminal 1 on the fair days; check the organiser's how to get there page for the 2027 timetable

By train or car

  • Rho Fieramilano station is on Milan's suburban rail link and is served by some regional, Trenitalia and Italo trains, according to the organiser; check your timetable, as not every train stops there
  • Long distance trains also arrive at Milano Centrale, from where the M2 and M1 metro lines take you out to Rho
  • The fairground has more than 10,000 outdoor parking spaces, and MIDO suggests car parks P2, P3 and P4; the organiser lists 12.50 euros for up to 4 hours and 18 euros for up to 24 hours
  • Taxis can be booked on +39 02 8585, +39 02 6969 or +39 02 4040, the organiser says

How do you get around during MIDO Eyewear Show?

Getting to Fiera Milano Rho each day

  • Take the red M1 metro to its Rho Fieramilano terminus, or an S5, S6 or S11 suburban train to Rho Fiera, the routes ATM lists for the exhibition centre
  • ATM says a Mi1 to Mi3 ticket (2.20 euros) covers the trip by metro or S line train; holders of an urban travel pass need a 1.70 euro supplement
  • MIDO uses the East and South gates; in 2026 free buses also ran from outside the East Gate to Cadorna, Garibaldi and Centrale stations, Piazza della Repubblica and Corso Venezia in the afternoons
  • Opening hours for visitors are 09:00 to 19:00 on Saturday and Sunday and 09:00 to 18:00 on Monday, the organiser says

Rho Fiera or central Milan?

  • Rho and Pero are closest to the halls and suit exhibitors, who have access from 08:30; check each hotel's position on the map before you book
  • Cadorna and the Duomo are on the M1 line, so a central hotel still gives you one metro ride to the fair, with restaurants close by in the evening
  • Porta Nuova and Garibaldi suit evening meetings in Milan's business district; check the metro or S line connection to Rho
  • BIT, the international tourism exchange, is at the same fairground from 9 to 11 February 2027, straight after MIDO, according to the Lombardy Region's fair calendar, so book early if you want a hotel near Rho that week

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Italy is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area for business without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Italy's consulates or their appointed visa centres

  • The Vision Stage, MIDO's programme of talks and education, is in the Fashion area; check the programme closer to the dates
