Milano Home, the Milan fair for home goods, decor and lifestyle products, takes place from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 January 2027 at Fiera Milano Rho, on the north western edge of the city. The fairground has its own railway station and sits at the end of the red M1 metro line, so you can reach the halls without a car from almost anywhere in Milan. That makes the hotel choice straightforward: stay around Rho and Pero for the shortest trip to the fair, or stay in central Milan near an M1 stop such as Cadorna or the Duomo and ride the metro out each morning, with the city's restaurants and showrooms on hand in the evening. Four days in January also means short daylight and cold evenings, so being close to a metro or train stop matters more than usual. This page shows live hotel rates near Fiera Milano Rho and across Milan for your dates. Admission to Milano Home is arranged separately with the organiser.

Popular areas for attendees: Rho Fiera · Cadorna/Sempione · Milan City Centre (Duomo) · Porta Nuova/Garibaldi.

Where should you eat during Milano Home?

Fiera Milano Rho lies northwest of the centre, 20-30 minutes by metro (M1 red line). Business dining concentrates in the city around Brera, Porta Nuova and the Duomo; save the traditional trattorie for when you have a proper evening free.

How do you get to Milano Home?

From Milan's airports

  • Milan Malpensa (MXP) is the main long haul airport; the Malpensa Express runs into central Milan, and Fiera Milano Rho has its own railway station, so check the Trenord timetable for the best connection to Rho Fiera
  • From Milan Linate (LIN), the M4 metro line connects the airport with the city centre, according to ATM, where you can change to the red M1 line for Rho Fieramilano
  • Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) handles many European low cost flights and has coach links to Milano Centrale
  • Allow extra time for winter weather on January travel days, and check your airline's updates before you leave for the airport

By rail or road

  • Fiera Milano Rho has its own railway station, Rho Fiera, alongside the exhibition centre
  • ATM, Milan's transport operator, says the suburban S5, S6 and S11 trains stop at Rho Fiera railway station, useful if you arrive by long distance train at Porta Garibaldi or Centrale
  • The red M1 metro line ends at Rho Fieramilano, at the fairground, giving a direct ride from Cadorna and the Duomo
  • By car, the fairground is beside the motorways on the north west side of Milan; check parking information on the Fiera Milano website before you drive

How do you get around during Milano Home?

Getting to Fiera Milano Rho each day

  • Take the red M1 metro line to its Rho Fieramilano terminus, or an S5, S6 or S11 suburban train to Rho Fiera station
  • ATM says a Mi1 to Mi3 ticket (2.20 euros, valid for 90 minutes) covers the trip by either metro or S line train; holders of an urban travel pass need a 1.70 euro supplement
  • Buy tickets at station machines or in the ATM app before the morning rush, and keep your ticket until you leave the station
  • Taxis to Rho are slower and dearer than the train on fair mornings, but useful if you are carrying samples or display pieces

Rho Fiera or central Milan?

  • Rho and Pero are closest to the halls and suit exhibitors with early starts, but evenings are quiet, so check each hotel's position on the map
  • Cadorna and the Duomo are on the M1 line, so a central hotel still gives you a direct metro ride to the fair with shops, showrooms and restaurants nearby
  • Porta Garibaldi suits travellers arriving by train and has suburban rail links towards Rho Fiera
  • The fair runs from a Thursday to a Sunday, so weekend hotel rates in central Milan may differ from weekday rates; compare both before you fix your dates

Do you need a visa for Milano Home?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Italy is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area for business without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through Italy's consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • If you need an invitation letter for a visa, ask the exhibitor you are visiting or the Milano Home organisers well before your consulate appointment

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your Milano Home registration or entry pass, and business cards or company details if the organiser asks for proof of trade
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Italian embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at Milano Home?

  • Check who can attend and how to register on the Milano Home website before you travel, and register in advance rather than at the gate
  • Buy a Mi1 to Mi3 ticket for the trip to Rho Fiera rather than a city ticket, as ATM sets that fare for the fairground stations
  • Fiera Milano Rho is a very large fairground, so plan the halls and stands you need in order and wear comfortable shoes
  • Pack warm layers for January mornings on station platforms and the walk to the halls
  • If you plan to visit Milan's showrooms as well as the fair, add a night either side of the fair dates when you search

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Staying near an M1 stop such as Cadorna or the Duomo gives you one train to the fair and back, with no change
  • The last fair day is a Sunday, so check Sunday evening flight and train times before you book your journey home
  • We are independent and not affiliated with Milano Home or Fiera Milano; you book a named hotel directly with us at the rate shown
