The Monaco Yacht Show, held every year at Port Hercule since 1991, returns from Wednesday 22 to Saturday 25 September 2027. The 2026 edition, the 35th, welcomed 30,678 visitors, with 560 exhibitors and 118 superyachts on display, and the show is held under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco. The opening day is by invitation only, and visitor passes bought online give access from Thursday. Monaco is compact (the organiser says you can cross it on foot in 45 minutes), so Monaco Yacht Show hotels inside the Principality, in La Condamine around the port and up in Monte-Carlo, are limited in number. Many visitors also look just across the French border: Beausoleil sits on the hillside above Monte-Carlo, Cap d'Ail has the last station before Monaco on the coastal line, and Nice and Menton are on the same regional rail line. How do you get to Monaco Yacht Show?
From Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE)
- The organiser puts Monaco 22 km from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, a drive of under 30 minutes by motorway
- Coach line 80 links the airport with Monaco via the A8; the organiser says it runs every 45 minutes and takes 45 minutes. It leaves from bay 1 at the Terminal 2 bus station and from exit door A0 at Terminal 1, and the airport says you can pay by tapping a bank card on the validator on board
- For the train, Nice Saint-Augustin station is a 7 minute walk from Terminal 1 along a pedestrian walkway, and the airport lists trains on the Cannes, Nice, Monaco and Menton line every 15 minutes on weekdays
- Helicopter transfers from the airport to Monaco Heliport take about 7 minutes; the organiser lists BLADE and Héli Air Monaco as show partners, and their 2026 offers included a transfer from the heliport to the show or your hotel
By train and by road
- Monaco Monte-Carlo station is underground, and the organiser names its Port Hercule exit as the one to use for the show
- Monaco's embassy in France says regional TER trains reach Nice or Ventimiglia in 25 minutes, with a train every 15 minutes at peak times
- By car, the organiser says to leave the A8 at exit 56 or 58 for Monaco when travelling from France towards Italy, or exit 58 for Roquebrune Cap Martin when coming from Italy
- The organiser recommends the Salines park and ride at the entrance to the Principality, which it says is around a 15 minute walk from the port and can be booked online
How do you get around during Monaco Yacht Show?
Getting to Port Hercule each day
- Walking is the organiser's top tip: it says you can cross Monaco from east to west in 45 minutes, with public lifts and escalators linking the districts
- The organiser's travel page says all Monaco buses are free during the show, with no ticket needed; the Monaco Bus Company runs seven routes, including to Port Hercule, from 07:00 to 21:30
- There are four public entrances: Quai Antoine Ier, Parvis Piscine (Boulevard Albert Ier), Quai Chicane and Quai Albert Ier
- MonaBike electric bikes (for riders aged 14 and over) and Monaco's taxis, which the organiser says run around the clock from 12 taxi ranks, are the other options
Inside the show and staying outside Monaco
- Free electric golf carts and shuttle boats link the exhibition areas and docks during opening hours, and Monaco's public shuttle boat across the port is reserved for show visitors while the show is on
- From Cap d'Ail, Nice or Menton, the coastal train to Monaco Monte-Carlo avoids the road traffic; SNCF Connect lists fastest journeys from Monaco of 2 minutes to Cap d'Ail, 14 minutes to Menton and 23 minutes to Nice
- Beausoleil is on the French side directly above Monte-Carlo, and Monaco Monte-Carlo station sits on the border between the two
- If you stay outside Monaco, check the last train back before you commit to dinners and evening events
Do you need a visa for Monaco Yacht Show?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Monaco is entered through France, and Monaco's embassy in France says visitors need a passport, and in some cases a visa, as required to enter French territory
- EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control at Nice airport
- ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly
eVisa / visa required
- If your nationality needs a Schengen visa, apply to the embassy of the Schengen country that will be your entry point, usually France; Monaco's embassy says that once you hold a Schengen visa you can visit the Principality with no additional formalities
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- The organiser's FAQ does not mention a visa letter service, so if you need an invitation for your application, ask the exhibitor you are visiting or the show team early
Documents to carry
- A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
- Your show pass, invitation or online ticket, and the name of any exhibitor you have an appointment with
- Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

First time at Monaco Yacht Show?
- Wednesday 22 September is by invitation only; visitor passes bought online give access from Thursday, including the Dockside Area where the superyachts are moored
- Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:30, closing at 18:00 on Saturday 25 September, and entry is allowed until 30 minutes before closing
- Children up to and including 8 years old get in free, and older children need their own ticket
- Boarding a yacht is by appointment with the exhibitor and at their discretion, so contact the brokers or yards you want to see before you travel
- There is no left luggage facility at the show, so plan your check-out day with that in mind
Insider tips from repeat attendees
- Ticketing for the next show was closed when we checked; the organiser publishes the exhibitor, superyacht and tender lists from July and updates them until the show opens
- There is no official dress code, but the organisers can refuse entry to anyone whose clothing they judge out of keeping with the show
- Most exhibitor events and parties are private and by invitation only, while restaurants around the port are outside the show boundaries and easy to reach on foot
