How do you get to NeoCon?
From O'Hare International (ORD)
- O'Hare is Chicago's main airport, with direct flights from most US cities and many international hubs
- The CTA Blue Line runs from O'Hare into the Loop; change there for the Brown or Purple Line to the Merchandise Mart stop, which brings you straight into The Mart on its 2nd floor
- Taxis and rideshare into River North can be slow in weekday traffic, so allow plenty of time on arrival day
- June storms can disrupt flights, so a flexible or free-cancellation room is worth considering
From Midway (MDW) and by rail
- Midway is Chicago's second airport, served mainly by domestic and short-haul flights
- The CTA Orange Line links Midway with the Loop, where you can change for the Brown Line to the Merchandise Mart stop
- Amtrak trains arrive at Chicago Union Station on the western edge of the Loop, a short taxi ride from The Mart

- The Merchandise Mart L stop on the CTA Brown and Purple Lines drops you on the building's 2nd floor, so you can arrive without going outside

- The Mart sits on the north bank of the Chicago River, so many River North and northern Loop hotels are within walking distance
- Ask at registration whether any shuttle runs from your hotel, as the organiser lists shuttle as one way to arrive but publishes details separately
Around Chicago in June
- June is usually warm, with the chance of thunderstorms, so pack a light waterproof along with comfortable shoes for long showroom days
- The L is the quickest way between River North, the Loop and the South Loop for evening plans
- Rideshare and taxis are easy to find, but expect queues outside The Mart at the end of each day
- Restaurants in River North fill with client dinners during NeoCon week, so reserve ahead if you are hosting
Do you need a visa for NeoCon?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries, including the UK, most of the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, can usually attend a trade show for up to 90 days with an approved ESTA rather than a visa
- Apply for ESTA on the official US government website well before you fly; approvals are normally valid for two years, and unofficial sites charge extra for the same form
- Canadian citizens do not normally need a visa or ESTA for a short business visit of this kind

- Most other nationalities, including India, China, Brazil and South Africa, need a B-1/B-2 visitor visa, which involves an in-person interview at a US embassy or consulate
