10 Jan – 12 Jan 2027 Jacob K. Javits Convention Center 40,000+ attendees
NRF 2027: Retail's Big Show takes over the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from 10–12 January, the retail industry's defining annual gathering. More than 40,000 professionals attend — retail CEOs and digital officers, store-operations and supply-chain leaders, merchandisers, and the vast retail-tech ecosystem that fills over 1,000 exhibitor booths. The Javits Center sits on Manhattan's far West Side at Hudson Yards, and that geography drives the hotel market: Hudson Yards and West Midtown properties within a ten-minute walk sell through first, followed by Times Square and the Penn Station corridor. January is normally New York's softest hotel month, which means NRF week stands out as a sharp, isolated spike — good news if you book early, painful if you do not. This page combines subway and airport-transfer specifics, US entry rules and attendee tactics with live, bookable rates near the Javits Center for the 2027 show.

Hudson Yards and the far West Side put you within a 10-minute walk of the Javits Center. Times Square and the Penn Station corridor offer the most inventory 15–20 minutes away on foot, and Chelsea works well one subway stop or a short cab south.
January is otherwise New York's cheapest month, so NRF creates a visible spike — West Side and Midtown rates during show nights typically run well above the surrounding weeks, though still below what the same rooms fetch in peak autumn. Book early and the January baseline works in your favour.
Two to four months ahead is usually enough for Midtown thanks to New York's huge hotel stock, but the small pool of genuinely walkable Hudson Yards properties goes much earlier — grab those on free-cancellation rates as soon as you commit.
Any of the three works. JFK has the deepest international network, but Newark (EWR) is often the fastest door-to-door for the Javits via NJ Transit to Penn Station, and LaGuardia suits domestic arrivals. Choose on fare and schedule, not the airport name.
Cold — typically between -5°C and 5°C in mid-January, with wind off the Hudson making the Javits area feel colder, and snow always possible. Pack a serious coat and footwear that can handle slush, and allow extra travel time if a storm is forecast.
