How do you get to NY NOW?
From JFK Airport
- Take the AirTrain to Jamaica station, then the LIRR to Moynihan Train Hall / Penn Station, usually 35 to 50 minutes total, and Penn is a 15-minute walk or short cab from the Javits
- Alternatively, AirTrain to Sutphin Blvd for the E subway train toward Manhattan: cheaper but slower, around 60 to 75 minutes
- Yellow cabs charge a flat fare from JFK to Manhattan plus tolls and surcharges; rideshare prices float and can exceed the cab at peak
- Road transfers take 45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic, and the evening rush is reliably slow
From Newark (EWR) and LaGuardia (LGA)
- Newark is often the smartest choice for the Javits: AirTrain plus NJ Transit reaches Penn Station in roughly 45 minutes, landing you closest to the West Side
- From LaGuardia, the free Q70 bus connects to the subway at Jackson Heights; a cab or rideshare into West Midtown takes 30 to 60 minutes
- All three airports serve extensive domestic and international networks, so choose by fare and arrival timing rather than assuming JFK
- Winter storms can snarl all New York airports in January and February, so build slack into your arrival day

Getting to the Javits Center daily
- The 7 subway train's 34 St-Hudson Yards terminus is about a five-minute walk from the Javits entrance, the most weatherproof approach
- From Penn Station and the Times Square hotel cluster, it is a 10 to 20 minute walk west; the M34 SBS bus runs crosstown on 34th Street
- Rideshare drop-offs on 11th Avenue bunch up at morning opening, so the subway is usually faster from almost anywhere in Midtown
- Dress for the walk: winter mornings on the Hudson-facing West Side are cold and windy
Around New York
