The Stockholm Furniture Fair, the organiser's premier platform for Scandinavian design, returns to Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö from Tuesday 9 to Friday 12 February 2027 after a year off. From 2027 the fair is held every other year, shortened to four days, with curated halls, a new Scandinavian Innovators area for materials and circular solutions, New Ventures for first time exhibitors and Greenhouse for emerging designers and design schools, with Patricia Urquiola as Guest Creative. The 2025 edition, the 73rd, drew more than 15,000 visitors, and the organiser says they come from nearly 100 countries. Furniture, lighting and architecture professionals have the halls to themselves for most of the week, and the fair opens to the public on the afternoon of Thursday 11 February. Stockholm Design Week runs across the city from 8 to 14 February 2027, with open showrooms, studios and exhibitions. Stockholmsmässan is next to Älvsjö station, nine minutes from Stockholm City by commuter train, so you can stay next to the halls or in central Stockholm for the evenings. From Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
- Stockholmsmässan says you can travel directly from Arlanda Airport to Älvsjö station, the venue's closest neighbour, in 47 minutes
- Or travel into Stockholm City first and take the commuter train out to Älvsjö, 9 minutes away
- The venue lists Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir and Sverigetaxi, and publishes a map of the taxi zone for contract taxis
- Taxi Kurir and Sverigetaxi can be booked through the Cabonline app, and Taxi Stockholm through its own app
By commuter train and car
- Both buses and commuter trains stop at Älvsjö station, next to Stockholmsmässan
- The commuter train from Stockholm City to Älvsjö runs 8 to 14 times an hour and takes 9 minutes, according to the venue
- By car, take the E4/E20 and follow the signs to Mässan/Älvsjö
- The venue has over 2,000 parking spaces in garages and open lots near the entrances, at 55 to 65 SEK an hour or 170 to 190 SEK a day, paid with EasyPark or Parkster, and 24 charging points in garage P2

- Opening hours for 2027: Tuesday 9 February 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday and Thursday 09:00 to 18:00, and Friday 12 February 09:00 to 15:00
- The public can visit on Thursday 11 February from 12:00 to 18:00; the other days are for trade visitors and students
- All tickets are sold online and there is no ticket office on site, so buy before you set off
- The visiting address is Mässvägen 1, Älvsjö; exhibitor deliveries go to Parkeringsvägen 10

Do you need a visa for Stockholm Furniture Fair?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Sweden is a member of the EU and of the Schengen Area, so EU and Schengen citizens and residents do not need a Schengen visa to visit
- Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area, Sweden included, without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
- Non EU travellers are registered in the Entry/Exit System at the Schengen area's external borders, with fingerprints and a facial image taken, so allow extra time at passport control at Arlanda
- ETIAS, the planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors to the Schengen area, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead

- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen visa for a short visit; the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket) explains who must apply
- In many countries Sweden's applications are received by VFS Global; in others you apply at a Swedish embassy or consulate, or at another Schengen country's mission that represents Sweden
- Apply well ahead of a February trip, and keep your fair ticket or exhibitor confirmation to show the purpose of your visit
Documents to carry
- A passport valid for at least three months after you plan to leave the Schengen area
- A return ticket, your hotel booking confirmation and proof of funds; Migrationsverket says Sweden expects SEK 700 for each day of your visit
- Travel medical insurance covering at least 30,000 euros if you need a visa, plus your Stockholm Furniture Fair ticket or exhibitor documents
Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket), the Swedish embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.
First time at Stockholm Furniture Fair?
- Trade tickets for 2027 cost 215 SEK for one day of your choice at the promotional price until 16 November 2026, then 275 SEK to 7 February and 325 SEK from 8 February; two day tickets cost 315, 375 and 425 SEK
- Students pay 155 SEK for a one day ticket valid on any fair day, and must show a student ID or a certificate from their school at the entrance
- The public afternoon on Thursday 11 February costs 155 SEK for a standard ticket and 55 SEK for ages 7 to 17; children up to 6 go free
- There is no ticket office on site: all tickets are sold online
- Friday closes at 15:00 and Tuesday opens at 10:00, so plan key meetings for Wednesday and Thursday morning
