The Inspired Home Show, North America's largest housewares trade show and formerly the International Home + Housewares Show, comes to McCormick Place in Chicago from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 March 2027. Organised by the International Housewares Association (IHA), it will be the 127th show and the last in Chicago: from January 2028 it moves to AmericasMart in Atlanta alongside Winter Atlanta Market. The 2026 show had more than 1,000 exhibitors and buyers from over 100 countries, and the IHA expects around 2,000 brands in 2027, with the core categories Clean + Contain, Dine + Décor and Wired + Well together in the South Hall and global manufacturing and sourcing in the North Hall. It is a trade only show, free for trade participants who register. McCormick Place sits on the lakefront south of the Loop, so for Inspired Home Show hotels the choice is between the South Loop beside the campus and the Loop, River North or Streeterville, linked by Metra trains and the show's own shuttle buses from its official hotels. How do you get to The Inspired Home Show?
From O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW)
- The CTA Blue Line runs from O'Hare International Airport straight into the Chicago Loop, where it connects with the Green, Orange and Red Lines at Clark/Lake, the organiser says
- The CTA Orange Line runs from Midway Airport into the Loop and is convenient for hotels south of the river
- A single L ride is generally 2.50 dollars with a Ventra card or ticket, a pay app or a contactless bank card, while the fare entering at O'Hare station is 5 dollars, according to the organiser's travel page
- The organiser points to flychicago.com for information on both Chicago airports
By train and car
- McCormick Place is on the Metra Electric line: its station is on level 2.5 under the South Building, reached from the Grand Concourse by stairs or lift
- The organiser says Metra takes nine minutes from McCormick Place to Randolph Street (Millennium Park station), and also stops at Van Buren Street, with taxis at both stops
- Amtrak serves Chicago for travellers coming by rail from elsewhere in the US

Getting to McCormick Place each day
- The show runs a free shuttle bus between its official show hotels and the South and North Buildings in the morning and evening on show days
- The Cermak-McCormick Place Green Line station is two blocks northwest of the West Building and suits hotels south of the river and in the West Loop
- The Cermak-Chinatown Red Line station, four blocks northwest of the West Building, has stops convenient for River North, Streeterville, the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and Lakeview
- In the Loop, Millennium Park station has indoor access through the Illinois Center to the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Fairmont, Radisson Blu Aqua and Swissôtel, according to the organiser
