VALVE WORLD EXPO, which its organiser calls the world's leading trade fair for industrial valves, holds its 14th edition at Messe Düsseldorf from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 December 2026. It takes place every two years, and the 2024 edition counted 8,578 visitors and 558 exhibitors; by September 2026 more than 570 exhibitors from over 31 countries had already registered for this one. On show are valves, valve components and parts, actuators and positioners, pumps, compressors, and engineering services and software, for buyers and engineers from oil and gas, chemicals, marine and offshore, water and wastewater, automotive and power generation. The three day Valve World Conference, organised by KCI, runs alongside the fair. The halls open from 09:00 to 18:00 each day, and the airport is minutes away, so Valve World Expo hotels in Stockum and Golzheim near the grounds, and in the Altstadt and city centre, all work well. This page shows live Düsseldorf hotel rates for your dates; trade visitor tickets are bought separately from the organiser.

  • The U81 runs from the airport terminal to MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord in about seven minutes, according to Messe Düsseldorf
  • Taxis charge a flat €25 between the airport and any entrance of the exhibition centre, day and night, with a travel time of about 10 minutes

By rail and road

  • Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof and Heinrich-Heine-Allee have direct connections to the exhibition grounds, the organiser says
  • The main stops are MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord (U78) and Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße (U78, U79, U80 and bus 722)
  • By car, the A44 runs right past the exhibition centre: leave at junction 29, Messe/Arena, for car parks P1 and P2, where free shuttle buses run to the entrances
  • Parking at P1 and P2 is cashless only, and you can buy a parking ticket online before you arrive

How do you get around during Valve World Expo?

Getting to the halls each day

  • The organiser lists three entrances for VALVE WORLD EXPO 2026: North A (downstairs), North B (upstairs, first floor) and South
  • Bus 722 links the city centre with several stops around the grounds, including Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstraße, Messe Osteingang, Messe-Center and Messe Süd/Congress Center
  • Rheinbahn's eezy.nrw check in and check out fare in the Rheinbahn app works out your fare automatically, and a 24 hour ticket covers up to five people
  • Around 1,400 taxis work in Düsseldorf, and you can order one by phone or app; book ahead if you need one at the 18:00 close

Stockum, Golzheim or the Altstadt?

  • Hotels in Stockum, next to the exhibition centre, keep the morning trip shortest for early stand duty
  • Golzheim sits between the Messe and the city centre along the Rhine, a middle option for both
  • The Altstadt and the city centre have the widest choice of hotels and restaurants for client dinners, with the U78 and U79 running out to the Messe
  • Flying in for one day? The U80 and U81 make an airport hotel a practical base, with short rides to the Messe stops

Do you need a visa for Valve World Expo?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Germany is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • The German Federal Foreign Office lists citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries as needing no visa for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through German missions or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45, which makes a December 2026 trip tight if you have not yet applied
  • Exhibitors and visitors who need a supporting letter should contact the organiser's visitor service early; the VALVE WORLD EXPO pages we checked do not describe a visa letter service

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your VALVE WORLD EXPO e-ticket or exhibitor pass, plus your conference registration if you booked the Valve World Conference
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the German embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.
