VIV Asia 2027, the Asian edition of the VIV feed-to-food trade show and a separate event from VIV Europe in Utrecht, runs from 10 to 12 March 2027 at the IMPACT Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani, on Bangkok's northern edge in Nonthaburi province. The last edition drew more than 51,000 professional visitors from poultry, pig, aqua, dairy, feed and animal-health businesses, and the 2027 floor is larger again. That matters when you look for VIV Asia Bangkok hotels: IMPACT is roughly 25 km north of central Bangkok, so the choice is between a room in Muang Thong Thani itself, a short ride away along Chaeng Watthana, or a central hotel with a longer daily commute and the evening options of Sukhumvit or Silom. This page shows live hotel rates near the venue for your dates, so you can compare a stay next to the halls with a central Bangkok base before deciding.

Popular areas for attendees: Muang Thong Thani · Chaeng Watthana · Ngam Wong Wan and Nonthaburi · Sukhumvit (central Bangkok).

Base yourself on the BTS Sukhumvit line: Asok/Phrom Phong/Thong Lo cover central dining and connect straight to BITEC (Bang Na) in ~20-25 min. Note IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is far north with no BTS -- budget a 40-60 min taxi and travel outside rush hour.

How do you get to VIV Asia?

Flying into Bangkok

  • Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is Bangkok's main international airport, but it sits on the far side of the city from IMPACT; allow plenty of time for a taxi across Bangkok, especially at evening rush hour
  • Don Mueang (DMK), the older airport used by many low-cost and regional carriers, is much closer to Muang Thong Thani and is the easier arrival if your routing allows it
  • Use the official public taxi queues or a ride-hailing app such as Grab from either airport, and agree that the meter or expressway tolls will be used before you set off
  • If you are staying centrally, the Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi connects with the BTS and MRT, which avoids the worst of the road traffic

Arriving at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani

  • IMPACT is a large complex of exhibition halls, an arena and convention space; VIV Asia 2027 is planned across Halls 1 to 7, so check the floor plan for your entrance
  • The MRT Pink Line monorail has a branch serving Muang Thong Thani, linking the venue to the wider Bangkok rail network via its interchanges
  • Drivers should expect queues on the access roads into Muang Thong Thani at opening time; leave early on the first morning
  • Show hours are 10:00 to 18:00, so time your arrival to collect your badge before the opening crowd

How do you get around during VIV Asia?

Daily travel to VIV Asia

  • Hotels within Muang Thong Thani are the simplest choice: you avoid Bangkok's road traffic entirely on show days
  • From central Bangkok, combine the BTS or MRT with the Pink Line, or take a taxi via the expressway; road journeys vary hugely with traffic
  • Grab and metered taxis are plentiful, but pickup queues build at show close around 18:00, so walking to a nearby pickup point can save time
  • Allow for heat when walking between halls and transport; March is one of Bangkok's hottest months

Around Bangkok in the evenings

  • Sukhumvit, Silom and the riverside are the main areas for dinners and client entertaining, but they are a long ride back to Muang Thong Thani
  • The BTS Skytrain and MRT are the quickest way to cross the city in the evening rush
  • Carry some cash in Thai baht for street food and smaller restaurants, although cards are widely accepted in hotels and malls
  • Traffic is heaviest on weekday evenings, so plan client dinners near your hotel where possible

Do you need a visa for VIV Asia?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Many nationalities, including UK, EU, US, Australian and Japanese passport holders, can enter Thailand without a visa for short visits; the permitted length of stay has been under review, so check the current rule before you travel
  • All foreign arrivals must complete the online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arriving
  • Some other nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at the main airports; check the current eligible list

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals who are not visa-exempt apply through Thailand's official e-Visa system before travel
  • Exhibitors staffing a stand should confirm with a Thai embassy whether their activity needs a business visa rather than visa-exempt entry
  • Apply well ahead of March, as processing times vary by country

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date
  • Your VIV Asia registration or badge confirmation and, if exhibiting, a company letter describing your role
  • Your hotel confirmation and evidence of onward or return travel, which immigration officers may ask to see

Entry and visa rules change frequently; verify current requirements with a Thai embassy or the official Thai e-Visa and immigration websites before you book.

First time at VIV Asia?

  • VIV Asia is the Asian edition of VIV and is not the same show as VIV Europe in Utrecht; make sure your registration and meetings are for the Bangkok event
  • The 2027 show is planned across seven halls at IMPACT, so study the floor plan and group your meetings by hall
  • Book meetings with exhibitors before you arrive; the busiest stands fill their diaries early
  • Dress for heat outside and strong air-conditioning inside, and keep water with you between halls
  • If you plan to stay centrally, test the journey to Muang Thong Thani on arrival day rather than on the first show morning

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • A Muang Thong Thani hotel turns a potentially long daily commute into a short ride, which pays off across three days
  • Don Mueang is far closer to the venue than Suvarnabhumi, so check flights into DMK if you are connecting from elsewhere in Asia
  • The final afternoon is usually calmer on the floor and a good time for longer conversations with exhibitors
  • Leave the halls a little before 18:00 or a little after to avoid the worst of the taxi and Grab queues

VIV Asia travel FAQs

Where should I stay for VIV Asia?

The most convenient areas for VIV Asia are Muang Thong Thani, Chaeng Watthana, Ngam Wong Wan and Nonthaburi, Sukhumvit (central Bangkok), all close to IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. Book a free-cancellation rate early, as hotels near the venue sell out first.

Should I stay near the VIV Asia venue or in central Bangkok?

Stay in Muang Thong Thani or along Chaeng Watthana if your priority is the show itself, as IMPACT is on Bangkok's northern edge and road journeys from the centre can be slow. Choose central Bangkok, such as Sukhumvit, if you have evening meetings in town and are happy with a longer daily commute.

Where is VIV Asia 2027 held?

VIV Asia 2027 takes place at the IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, just north of Bangkok, from 10 to 12 March 2027. Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:00.

Is VIV Asia the same as VIV Europe?

No. Both belong to the VIV family of feed-to-food shows, but VIV Asia is held in Bangkok and VIV Europe in Utrecht, on different dates with separate registration.

Which airport should I fly into for VIV Asia?

Suvarnabhumi (BKK) handles most long-haul flights, but Don Mueang (DMK) is much closer to IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. Taxis and Grab serve both airports.

How do I get to IMPACT Muang Thong Thani by public transport?

The MRT Pink Line monorail has a branch serving Muang Thong Thani and connects with other Bangkok rail lines at its interchange stations. Many visitors also use taxis or Grab, especially from hotels in the area.

Can I change the hotel dates shown on this page?

You can change the check-in and check-out dates in the hotel search to match your own schedule, whether you are arriving early to set up a stand or staying on after the final day.
