About Cog Hill Golf & Country Club — Course No. 4 "Dubsdread"
Course No. 4 at Cog Hill, universally known as 'Dubsdread', was designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee in 1964 and toughened by a Rees Jones renovation in 2008. For decades it was one of the most important stops on the PGA Tour, hosting the Western Open from 1991 to 2006 and the BMW Championship through 2011, with Tiger Woods among its multiple winners. Remarkably, it has always been a public daily-fee course — no membership needed — so ordinary golfers can test themselves on a genuine tour venue just outside Chicago. Deep bunkers, thick rough and quick greens make it one of the hardest public courses in the Midwest.
