Yes — El Camaleón is a resort course open to the public, though it is designed around the four Mayakoba hotels. Guests of the Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Rosewood or Andaz properties get preferential green fees and easy cart access, while outside visitors can play via a golf package. It was the first course in Mexico to host a PGA Tour event.
How to book: Reserve tee times directly with Mayakoba Golf by phone, email or WhatsApp, or online; resort guests can arrange play through their hotel concierge. About El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba
El Camaleón at Mayakoba, opened in 2006 to a Greg Norman design, made history in 2007 as the first course in Mexico to host a PGA Tour event, staging the Tour for well over a decade. Threading through tropical jungle, mangroves, freshwater canals and Caribbean oceanfront, it is famous for a natural limestone cenote carved into one fairway. It anchors the Mayakoba resort complex, so play is built around guests of the Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Rosewood and Andaz hotels, with outside visitors welcome via golf packages. Immaculately conditioned and endlessly scenic, it is a Tour-tested course that ordinary golfers can genuinely enjoy.

Best time to play
The dry season from November to April brings the best weather and course conditions; summer is hot and humid, and the June–November hurricane season carries some storm risk, though rates are lower.
Dress code
Collared shirts with sleeves and appropriate golf attire; golf or tennis shoes required, no metal spikes.
Good to know
GPS carts are included and caddies can be arranged; a round takes about 4.5 hours. The tropical heat and sun are intense — bring water and sun protection — and the course is kept in PGA Tour-caliber condition.
