About Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course is Stanley Thompson's 1925 tour de force, carved from the wilderness of Jasper National Park by 200 men and 50 teams of horses. Routed around the turquoise Lac Beauvert beneath the Rockies, it is a par-71 mountain course renowned for elevated tees, artful bunkering and holes framed on distant peaks — the bunker-shaped 'Cleopatra' 9th among the most photographed in Canada. Long rated the country's top golf resort, it is fully open to the public in season alongside lodge guests. Cart and practice balls are included, and the scenery alone justifies the trip.
Signature hole
The par-4 9th, 'Cleopatra,' is Thompson's most famous hole here — its cluster of bunkers was shaped to resemble a reclining figure, framed by the Rockies; the holes skirting Lac Beauvert are equally memorable.
