Getting to Exhibition Centre Liverpool
Exhibition Centre Liverpool is on Kings Dock, on the Liverpool Waterfront. The venue's location page gives its address as Exhibition Centre Liverpool, Kings Dock, Liverpool Waterfront, L3 4FP, and says that for sat nav you should use L3 4BX. The venue is part of the Liverpool Experience Campus, which also takes in the Convention Centre, The Auditorium, M&S Bank Arena and Ticket Quarter. The campus was previously known as the ACC Liverpool Group and, according to the venue's Who We Are page, was renamed on 13 April 2026. You will still see ACC Liverpool on older maps, bus pages and sat navs, and the venue itself warns that some navigation devices may not recognise the building at first.
If your sat nav struggles, the venue suggests entering the postcode L3 4BX with the coordinates 53.396007 north and 2.99118 west, or entering Liverpool as the city and Queen's Wharf as the road. Its joining instructions describe the site as directly adjacent to the south side of the Royal Albert Dock and say to follow the white on brown tourist signs for the Waterfront, which are visible on the major routes into the city.
By train, the venue says Avanti West Coast runs hourly direct services from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street, taking just over two hours. From Lime Street, the Exhibition Centre is a 20 minute walk or a short taxi ride. The other option, which the venue also suggests, is to change at Lime Street onto the Merseyrail underground Wirral Line to James Street station, then walk for about ten minutes. If you start your journey outside Merseyside, the venue says the underground train to James Street from Lime Street is included in the cost of your train ticket. Check the details on your ticket before you rely on this.
By bus, the venue says most city centre buses call at either Queen Square bus station, a 15 minute walk, or Liverpool ONE Bus Station, only a five minute walk from the Exhibition Centre. It also mentions a CityLink C4 service and, in its joining instructions, a People's Bus route 4 and 4A to the campus. The two documents do not name the same service, and the C4 page still refers to ACC Liverpool, so check the Merseytravel website for the current route and times. Coaches have drop off areas adjacent to the Kings Dock site.
By air, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the nearest. The joining instructions say a taxi to the city centre takes about 20 minutes, and that the express bus services 80A and 86A take about 52 minutes and drop you at Liverpool ONE, which is five minutes' walk from the campus. The venue's website adds that Manchester Airport is about 45 minutes away. Cyclists will find bike racks on the river side of the building, and the venue says you can take bikes free on ferries and trains in Merseyside, though it is busy in peak hours.
Entrances and halls at Exhibition Centre Liverpool
The Exhibition Centre has 8,100 square metres of space in three halls, called Hall A, Hall B and Hall C. They can be used separately or together, and each is 2,700 square metres. The venue says Hall C has an increased height of 18 metres. Loading is on the level, which the venue highlights for contractors and exhibitors. Each sub divided hall has its own toilets and catering outlets, and each hall has a self contained organiser suite beside it.
The main entrance to the Exhibition Centre is through the Atrium. The venue describes the Atrium as running the full length of the building, with floor to ceiling glass overlooking the River Mersey. It is the main circulation area, and it is where you will find the cloakroom, dedicated registration or ticket desks, and the Guest Relations team, which offers business services and help to organisers, exhibitors and visitors. A catering outlet and extra toilets run along the front of the Atrium, and there are pod areas for pop up units.
A stairwell and lift take you up to the Terrace Suite of eight meeting rooms on Level 1, which have riverside views and capacities from 10 to 110. The Lounge is on Level 2, and the venue says it has direct access to the integrated Pullman Liverpool hotel and to the enclosed bridge that links the Exhibition Centre to the Convention Centre and the M&S Bank Arena. The Deck is an external exhibition space reached through double doors from the south end of the Atrium, and the venue says it can hold up to 767 people depending on infrastructure.
If you are visiting for a meeting rather than a show, the joining instructions say to go to the Convention Centre entrance, where the Guest Relations desk is, or to the exhibition centre entrance if your meeting is there. For accessible access, the campus has been surveyed with AccessAble, and visitors may also be dropped off at the designated point on the river side of the building, which is for coaches and taxis. Walkthrough metal detectors are used at all events, so empty your pockets beforehand and keep bags to a minimum.
Last trains and getting back late
We do not quote a last train time for Liverpool, because times differ by line and by day and only the operator's live timetable is reliable. The sensible approach is to check two things before you leave the hall: the time of the last Merseyrail underground train to your destination, and the time of your long distance train from Lime Street. Avanti West Coast, which the venue names for London, will show your own booking.
The routes back are the ones you used to arrive. Lime Street is a 20 minute walk or a short taxi ride, as the venue says. James Street is a ten minute walk and is the quickest way to the Merseyrail underground, which also takes you to Lime Street. The Liverpool ONE Bus Station is five minutes away on foot. The venue's page about its C4 route gives a service of every 30 minutes between 7am and 8pm, which would not cover a late finish, and the page may be out of date, so do not rely on a bus after an evening event without checking.
Many events here run into the evening. The venue's events page lists dance conventions, music nights and a Christmas party series, so check the closing time of your own event. A taxi from the Kings Dock side may be easier than the walk to Lime Street if you are carrying stand materials. If your show finishes late and your train home is early, staying nearby is often less stressful. The Pullman Liverpool and the Premier Inn at Albert Dock are both on the waterfront, and we can book hotels for a team on a company invoice with a custom quote.
Parking at Exhibition Centre Liverpool
The on site Kings Dock Car Park has 1,450 spaces, with accessible bays and electric vehicle charging points on every floor. The venue says it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and that you collect a ticket on entry and pay at a pay machine before you leave. Tariffs are listed on the venue's car parking page, so we have not repeated them here, as they can change. The venue says these charges also apply to Blue Badge holders and to motorcycles, which is worth knowing in advance. The car park has a Park Mark Safer Parking Award.
The venue's joining instructions say the accessible bays are spread over seven floors, that the lifts have a mirror to aid reversing out, and that they have visual and audible floor indicators. The route from the car park to the Convention Centre entrance is straight and wheelchair accessible. The venue's own documents give slightly different counts for accessible bays, so if you need to be sure, contact the venue before your visit.
To find the car park, follow the Waterfront signs. From the north, the venue says to leave the M6 at junction 26 for the M58, follow it to the end, then take the A59 into Liverpool and follow the Waterfront signs. From the south, leave the M6 at junction 21A, take the M62 to its end and follow Edge Lane into the city. From the Wirral, Wales and the M53, leave at junction 3 and take the A552 through the Queensway Tunnel to the city centre. The venue says Kings Dock and other on site parking is signposted Waterfront on the city's available spaces signs.
The venue also points out there are plenty of car parks across the city centre if you prefer to park and walk or take public transport. Hotel guests should check each hotel. The Premier Inn at Albert Dock has no parking on site and its page directs guests to Kings Dock, noting a guest discount that you validate at the Kings Dock office. The Pullman page lists discounted parking at the Kings Dock multi storey. The Travelodge Liverpool Central Queens Dock and Arena has 70 spaces on site, run by Horizon Parking.
Which side of Exhibition Centre Liverpool to stay on
Liverpool's waterfront and its city centre are close together but feel different, and the Exhibition Centre sits on the waterfront. There are three realistic choices. The first is to stay on the campus itself. The venue says there are 658 on site hotel rooms, including the integrated four star Pullman Liverpool with 216 bedrooms. If you want to be at the hall in minutes, this is the most direct option.
The second is the Albert Dock and Wapping side, on the south side of the Royal Albert Dock. The Premier Inn at Albert Dock, in the East Britannia Building, is described on its page as close to M&S Bank Arena, with the Beatles Story five minutes away on foot and Albert Dock bars and restaurants seven minutes away. The ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock at 27 Wapping is listed on the Accor site close to the dock. The Travelodge at Chaloner Street says it is a ten minute walk from M&S Bank Arena. On this side you are close to the waterfront bars and restaurants, but you are farther from Lime Street.
The third is the Liverpool ONE and Lime Street side, which suits you if you are arriving by long distance train. The Premier Inn at 48 Hanover Street lists Liverpool Lime Street Station and the Liverpool ONE bus station at 0.3 miles and the Albert Dock at 0.6 miles. The Premier Inn at Moorfields lists Lime Street at half a mile and Albert Dock at 1.4 miles, so it is a taxi or bus ride to the Exhibition Centre rather than a stroll. Choose this side if you have an early train out and want to be near Lime Street, and accept that you will have a longer trip each morning.
Budget hotel brands near Exhibition Centre Liverpool: what we could confirm
We have not listed prices, because they move with the events calendar. Book early for a big weekend. Here are the budget chains we could check on their own pages.
The Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre at Albert Dock is at the East Britannia Building, Albert Dock, L3 4AD. Its page describes it as a UNESCO Grade I listed building at the Royal Albert Dock, close to the River Mersey, The Beatles Story and M&S Bank Arena. It lists The Beatles Story at a five minute walk, Albert Dock bars and restaurants at seven minutes, and James Street Station at one mile. There is no parking at the hotel, and the page points guests to Kings Dock for chargeable parking.
The Travelodge Liverpool Central Queens Dock and Arena, at Chaloner Street, L3 4AJ, says it is a ten minute walk from M&S Bank Arena. It has 70 on site parking spaces. Its page gives about 22 minutes on foot from the railway station, so this suits you better if you are driving or taking a taxi. The ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock, Liverpool ONE is at 27 Wapping, L1 8LY. Accor lists the Albert Dock as 100 metres away, and its page mentions the Exhibition Centre without giving a walking time, so check the route.
The Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre at Liverpool ONE, 48 Hanover Street, L1 4AF, is nearer Lime Street and the shops. It has no parking at the hotel and points guests to the Q Park next door. Hotels can be booked through us for a team on a company invoice, and a custom quote is available.
How close are the hotels to Exhibition Centre Liverpool on foot?
The only hotel on the campus itself is the Pullman Liverpool at Kings Dock, L3 4FP. The venue says it is integrated with the Exhibition Centre, and the Accor page describes it as on site with Liverpool Experience Campus, including the M&S Bank Arena. The Lounge on Level 2 of the Exhibition Centre has direct access to it. That is as close as it gets.
Beyond the campus, the venue says there is accommodation to suit every need in Liverpool, from budget to boutique, with over 8,000 rooms across the city region. The venue's hotels page shows an interactive map of nearby hotels rather than a fixed list, so we have only named hotels whose own pages we could read.
On the waterfront side, the Premier Inn at Albert Dock is the closest chain we verified, with the Beatles Story five minutes' walk away. The Travelodge Chaloner Street hotel is given as a ten minute walk from M&S Bank Arena. The Pullman's own page lists the Royal Albert Dock and Liverpool ONE as within walking distance. For anything in the city centre proper, treat the stay as a ten to twenty minute walk or a short taxi ride, as the venue itself says of Lime Street at 20 minutes.
If you have a larger group, we can look at a block of rooms across several of these hotels, book them on a company invoice and send a custom quote.
Upmarket hotels near Exhibition Centre Liverpool: what we could confirm
The Pullman Liverpool is the best placed on the campus. It is a four star waterfront hotel at Kings Dock with 216 rooms and suites, according to its Accor page, which also lists a restaurant, a bar and lounge, flexible meeting and event spaces, and a 24 hour fitness lounge. It lists the hotel as on site with Liverpool Experience Campus, including the M&S Bank Arena, and within walking distance of the Royal Albert Dock and Liverpool ONE.
A different style of stay is the Premier Inn at Albert Dock, which occupies a UNESCO Grade I listed building in the dock complex. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is on the water and close to the dock's restaurants. The venue's own pages say it can recommend options from five star luxury to trendy boutiques and well known chains. We have not named upscale hotels we cannot verify from an official page.
If you want a bigger comparison, ask us and we can check live availability for the nights you need, with a custom quote for company invoice bookings. When you compare, look at walking distance to the Atrium entrance, whether parking is on site, and whether the hotel is on the dock side or the Lime Street side.
Eating and evenings near Exhibition Centre Liverpool
Inside the venue, a catering outlet runs along the front of the Atrium, and each sub divided hall has catering outlets and toilets. Free WiFi is provided to visitors, and there is a cloakroom in the Atrium.
Outside, the venue's visiting Liverpool page says there are hundreds of restaurants a few minutes' walk or a taxi ride from the centre, from fine dining to family friendly and from blow out to budget. Liverpool ONE is a five minute walk from the campus, and the Royal Albert Dock is directly adjacent to the site. The Premier Inn at Albert Dock lists the dock's bars and restaurants at seven minutes' walk. The Pullman has a restaurant and bar on site, which is the simplest option if you do not want to leave the waterfront.
For an evening out, the venue suggests attractions all within minutes of the Exhibition Centre, including museums, a big wheel, the Royal Albert Dock and the Liverpool ONE leisure and retail complex. The Exhibition Centre sits alongside the Three Graces on the waterfront skyline, which is worth seeing if you have a free hour.
Tips for exhibitors and visitors
Check which name your event uses. Exhibitors and visitors may see Exhibition Centre Liverpool, Liverpool Experience Campus or ACC Liverpool on paperwork and on maps. The venue's postcode L3 4BX is for sat nav, and the address postcode is L3 4FP. If your app places you at the wrong end of the waterfront, use the coordinates the venue publishes.
The joining instructions say Guest Relations can be reached on the campus for any queries, and the Guest Relations team in the Atrium offers business services to organisers, exhibitors and visitors. The venue lists a Resource Hub and exhibitor guides on its website, and says its exhibition management team will advise through the whole process. Load in is on the level, and the Deck can be reached by vehicles from the service yard, so ask the organiser which door your stand build will use.
Security is thorough. Walkthrough metal detectors are used at all events, bags may be searched, and the venue advises no bag larger than a laptop bag. Large bags and suitcases will be searched too. Detection dogs may be seen, and the venue supports Merseyside Police's Project Servator. Leave bulky items at the cloakroom in the Atrium if one is running for your event.
The calendar changes through the year. At the time of checking, the venue listed Can You Dance? Super Convention, The UK Drum Show, the North West Card Show, Liverpool Brick Festival, BRILLIANT Festival, UKPackaging Expo, Kidz to Adultz North, Big Christmas Parties, Liverpool Indoor Funfair and The National Wedding Show, and its Comic Con page describes a twice yearly convention that takes over the whole campus. If you are planning a stay around a particular show, look at the events page and book hotels early.
