Getting to the Georgia World Congress Center
The Georgia World Congress Center, usually shortened to the GWCC, is at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313, in downtown Atlanta. It is run by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority and sits on a campus with Centennial Olympic Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena next door. The GWCC's own site tells visitors that for many events on the campus, parking is at a premium and MARTA is the fastest and easiest way to arrive.
The rail stop to know is SEC District Station, station code W-1. The GWCC calls it the nearest MARTA rail stop and says it connects directly to International Plaza. The station has had several names. Wikipedia reports that it opened in 1979 as Omni, later became Omni/Dome/GWCC, then GWCC/CNN Center, and was renamed Sports, Entertainment and Convention District on December 1, 2025. Older event guides and some maps still call it GWCC/CNN Center or Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center, so you may see any of those names. Wikipedia lists the station address as 100 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW and says it serves the Blue and Green lines, with Vine City to the west and Five Points to the east.
The GWCC lists which station to use for each building. Buildings A and B use SEC District Station. Building C can use either SEC District Station or Vine City Station, station code W-2. Mercedes-Benz Stadium also uses either of those two stations. For Centennial Olympic Park, the GWCC says to use SEC District or Peachtree Center Station, station code N-1, which it describes as approximately a six block walk.
From Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, MARTA's airport station is inside the terminal complex, with fare gates on a mezzanine, according to Wikipedia, and it is served by the Red and Gold lines. Both lines run north from the airport through College Park, East Point, Lakewood/Fort McPherson, Oakland City, West End and Garnett to Five Points. At Five Points you change to a westbound Blue or Green line train, and SEC District is the next station. Check MARTA's trip planner before you travel, because lines and service patterns change.
Rideshare is the other main option. The GWCC says that for Buildings A and B and International Plaza, you should choose the pick up and drop off point on Andrew Young International Blvd. For Building C and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, you should use GWCC Bus Lane C, also called Rideshare Zone 1, on Northside Drive. DreamHack's visitor guide tells attendees heading to Building C to request Zone 1 in the rideshare app. At the airport, the same guide says rideshare pickup is on the lower level of North Baggage Claim.
Drivers have a lot of parking choices, covered in the parking section below. The GWCC's FAQ says the campus is easily accessible by car, rideshare and public transportation, and its navigation page covers routes from the airport, by car and by MARTA. Signia by Hilton's Explore Georgia listing mentions access near I-75 and I-85.
Entrances and halls at the Georgia World Congress Center
The GWCC has three main buildings, A, B and C, and each has a different front door. The GWCC says there are over 1.5 million square feet of exhibit space on the campus in its planning guide. Its homepage lists Building A with 29 meeting rooms, 3 halls, a boardroom and an auditorium. It lists Building B with 47 meeting rooms, 5.5 halls, a boardroom and a ballroom. It lists Building C with 23 meeting rooms, 4.5 halls, 2 auditoriums and a ballroom.
Building A is on the Marietta Street side. The GWCC says its access points are between the Omni Hotel and the College Football Hall of Fame and are reached via Marietta St. The planning guide describes the East Plaza as the outdoor space that provides access to Building A and the Omni Hotel. Building A also has the Sidney Marcus Auditorium, which the planning guide mentions by name.
Building B is entered through any of the entrances along the Pedestrian Mall on Andrew Young International Blvd. The planning guide says the Pedestrian Mall provides a connection from Centennial Olympic Park to the Signia by Hilton Atlanta hotel. Building B has the Thomas Murphy Ballroom, also named in the planning guide. The GWCC's navigation page does not list individual doors, so if you are heading to a specific hall, use your show's floor plan.
Building C is the newest of the three. The GWCC history page says it was completed in 2002 as the fourth major expansion. Signia by Hilton Atlanta, a 976 room hotel that opened in 2024, connects directly to Building C according to the history page and the FAQ. The planning guide names the Georgia Ballroom in Building C. The navigation page does not describe Building C entrances, but it does say rideshare for Building C uses Bus Lane C on Northside Drive, and the parking page puts the Blue Lot, closest to Building C, on Northside Drive.
Services follow the same split. The planning guide mentions an A/B Registration Hall and a C lobby for public space load in, and it says a FedEx Office business center operates in the A/B Lobby, with a second location in the Building C Lobby that opens based on need. The GWCC's FAQ says manual wheelchairs are available free on a first come, first served basis at the information desks in Buildings A, B and C, and mobility scooters can be rented in advance for a fee. The FAQ also says all campus facilities are ADA compliant.
There are two outdoor spaces you will use as landmarks. International Plaza is a green space built above the Red Deck parking structure, according to the history page, and it is the access point from MARTA to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Centennial Olympic Park is public space with posted hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to the planning guide. The planning guide also mentions a Transportation Terminal, which is a hub for event buses and rideshare.
Last trains and getting back late
We could not read a current official timetable for MARTA's late trains at the SEC District, Vine City or Five Points stations, so we are not going to quote a last train time. MARTA publishes its rail schedules on itsmarta.com, and its customer line is 404-848-5000. Look up the day you are travelling, because holiday and event schedules can differ from the usual pattern, and check the direction you need as well as the station.
If your event runs late, plan the return before you leave the hall. For Buildings A and B, SEC District Station is the station the GWCC points visitors to. For Building C, Vine City Station is the second option. If you are going back to the airport, remember that you will probably change trains at Five Points, so check both the Blue or Green line and the Red or Gold line times.
Rideshare is the usual fallback after a late event. For Building A, Building B and International Plaza, use the pick up point on Andrew Young International Blvd. For Building C, use GWCC Bus Lane C, Rideshare Zone 1, on Northside Drive. The navigation page also warns about a Blue Lot No Parking Zone on Northside Drive NW near Bethune Elementary School and says to avoid it for pick up or drop off. When more than one event is on the campus, expect both rideshare points to be busy.
The planning guide describes the Transportation Terminal as the space where event shuttles drop off and pick up guests, and says rideshare pick up and drop off is coordinated there as well. That is mostly for show organizers, but if your event has a shuttle, check the show's transportation page for the pick up location and times.
The Atlanta Streetcar has 12 stops according to DreamHack's visitor guide, and that guide suggests it for reaching downtown hotels, restaurants and attractions. We did not verify streetcar hours or the stop closest to the GWCC, so check the operator.
The easiest late night plan is to stay in a hotel that connects to the building or sits within a block or two. Signia by Hilton Atlanta connects directly to Building C, and the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is listed as connected to the GWCC and State Farm Arena.
Parking at the Georgia World Congress Center
The GWCC says it has more than 6,500 parking spaces for visitors across decks and surface lots, and it recommends prepurchasing parking for most events. Parking services are provided by SP+ and Metropolis, and the lots are patrolled around the clock by GWCCA Public Safety. Rates and availability change with the event and how many events are in the building, so we are not quoting any rates. You can prepurchase through the GWCC parking guide at gwcc.parkingguide.com.
The Red Deck is the most centrally located deck and the one the GWCC recommends for most visitors. It has an upper entrance at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW and a lower entrance at 103 Mangum St NW. The Inclement Weather Bridge connects the Red Deck directly to Building B, which makes it the best choice for Building B in bad weather.
The Orange Deck is close to Building B but has no direct entry into the GWCC. Its lower entrance is at 115 Magnolia St NW, and its main address is 103 Mangum St NW. The Green Deck is closest to Building A and is at 266 to 280 Marietta St NW. For Building C, use the Blue Lot at 271 Northside Dr NW or the Yellow Lot at 434 to 450 Gray St NW. The Silver Deck, at 1414 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, is mostly used for events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
A limited number of EV chargers are available in each parking deck. The Blue Lot and the Yellow Lot do not have any. The GWCC says all its facilities are ADA compliant, but its parking page does not list accessible spaces by deck or lot, so contact the parking team or your show organizer if you have specific needs.
Oversized vehicles have their own area. The marshalling yard is on Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd next to the Yellow Lot, covers 540,000 square feet and holds about 600 trucks, according to the GWCC. It is patrolled around the clock and charges by the hour, with higher rates for recreational vehicles. It is a few seconds from the loading docks.
On big event days, such as Atlanta Falcons game days, the planning guide says parking rates are generally higher. A practical rule is to choose the deck by the building you need. If you are going to Building A, the Green Deck. If you are going to Building B, the Red Deck. If you are going to Building C, the Blue Lot or Yellow Lot. If you are attending a stadium event, expect the Silver Deck to be in use by stadium traffic.
Which side of the Georgia World Congress Center to stay on
The GWCC campus is spread out, so which side you stay on depends on which building your event uses. The GWCC's FAQ and explore pages describe a walkable district around Centennial Olympic Park, but the pages give no distances or walk times, so think of the campus in terms of its three sides.
On the Marietta Street side, Building A's access points sit between the Omni Hotel and the College Football Hall of Fame. The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is listed at 100 CNN Center and is connected to State Farm Arena and the GWCC, according to Explore Georgia. The Moxy Atlanta Downtown is at 329 Marietta St NW, and Urbanize Atlanta says it sits beside the Hyatt Place Atlanta hotel and is a short walk from Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the GWCC, the College Football Hall of Fame and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
On the Pedestrian Mall and Centennial Olympic Park side, which is Building B, the AC Hotel Atlanta Downtown is at 101 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, and Explore Georgia says it is close to the GWCC and a short walk from Centennial Olympic Park. The Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown is at 275 Baker St NW, listed as about a block from the GWCC.
On the Northside Drive side, which is Building C, the Signia by Hilton Atlanta is at 159 Northside Drive NW and connects to the building. The Hotel Phoenix, in the Centennial Yards development, is described as across from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena and within walking distance of the GWCC and Centennial Olympic Park.
Further into downtown are the bigger hotels. For CAMX 2026, the organizers' shuttle served the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Courtyard Atlanta Downtown, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Downtown, Atlanta Marriott Marquis and Hyatt Regency Atlanta, which shows how event organizers think of them as GWCC area hotels. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown, at 111 Cone St NW, is listed as about 5 blocks from the GWCC.
If your event is at Building C, stay on the Northside Drive side. If it is at Building A, stay on the Marietta Street side. If you are going to Building B, look near the Pedestrian Mall. If you are not sure, a hotel at the middle of the campus near Centennial Olympic Park is the safest choice.
Budget hotel brands near the Georgia World Congress Center: what we could confirm
A cheap hotel near the Georgia World Congress Center usually means a limited service chain a few blocks from the campus. We have not checked rates, so we are not naming prices. This section tells you where the chain hotels are and what their listings say.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown is at 111 Cone St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. Explore Georgia lists it as about 5 blocks from the GWCC, with free high speed internet and a complimentary hot breakfast. It was also one of the hotels on the CAMX 2026 shuttle route, which shows that show organizers treat it as a GWCC hotel.
The Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown is at 275 Baker St NW. Explore Georgia lists it as about a block from the GWCC, the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park and the World of Coca-Cola, with free Wi-Fi, two restaurants onsite and MARTA rail nearby.
The Hampton Inn Atlanta Georgia Tech Downtown is at 244 North Ave NW. Its listing says it offers a free local shuttle to destinations within a two mile radius, and the GWCC is named among them. It also lists complimentary breakfast. The listing gives no walking distance, so check the shuttle's schedule before you rely on it.
The Moxy Atlanta Downtown is at 329 Marietta St NW. Atlanta News First described it as open in March 2026, and Urbanize Atlanta lists 183 rooms, a lobby bar called Bar Moxy and a rooftop lounge called Jagger Suite. The GWCC's FAQ lists the Moxy among the nearby hotels within walking distance.
For the best value, book early for large shows, because every hotel in the district fills up during the biggest events. If you are booking for a team, hotels can be booked with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available. Compare the room price against the cost of rideshare or parking, because a cheaper hotel that needs a car each day can cost more overall.
How close are the hotels to the Georgia World Congress Center on foot?
The GWCC's FAQ answers the walking distance question directly. It says Signia by Hilton Atlanta is connected to the GWCC through Building C, and that other nearby hotels within walking distance include the Omni, Hotel Phoenix at Centennial Yards, REVERB Downtown Atlanta and Moxy Atlanta Downtown. The GWCC does not give times for any of them, and we are not going to invent them.
Signia by Hilton Atlanta is the only hotel the GWCC says is connected through the building itself. The GWCC history page says it opened in 2024 with 976 rooms and connects directly to Building C. The planning guide adds that the Pedestrian Mall provides a connection from Centennial Olympic Park to the Signia. Its Explore Georgia listing gives the address as 159 Northside Drive NW.
The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is the other connected hotel. Explore Georgia says it is connected to State Farm Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center. Its listing also describes it as the closest hotel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and gives four dining venues, including the Top Draft sports bar, a heated pool and a fitness center. Wikipedia says SEC District Station gives access to the Omni.
Other options within a few blocks include the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown at 275 Baker St NW, about a block from the GWCC by its listing, the AC Hotel Atlanta Downtown at 101 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, and the Hotel Phoenix, which Centennial Yards describes as across from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena and within walking distance of the GWCC.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown at 111 Cone St NW is listed as about 5 blocks away. That is walkable in good weather if you travel light. Look at a map on the day, because the route through the downtown streets and around the campus may be longer than the block count suggests.
For an exact walking time, enter the hotel address and the entrance of your building into a map app. The GWCC campus covers several city blocks, and the distance from a hotel to your hall depends on whether you are going to Building A, B or C.
Upmarket hotels near the Georgia World Congress Center: what we could confirm
For most visitors searching for the best hotels near the Georgia World Congress Center, the answer comes down to connection and location. Signia by Hilton Atlanta is the best pick for Building C events because it connects directly to the building. It has 976 rooms, according to the GWCC, and the GWCC's FAQ lists dining there, including Nest and Capolinea.
The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park is a strong choice for Building A and for events that also use State Farm Arena or the Centennial Olympic Park area. Explore Georgia lists a heated pool, four dining venues and a fitness center, and says the hotel is connected to State Farm Arena and the GWCC. Building A's access points are between the Omni and the College Football Hall of Fame.
The Hotel Phoenix at Centennial Yards opened on December 1, 2025, as the first hotel in the development, according to Centennial Yards. It is described as across from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena and within walking distance of the GWCC and Centennial Olympic Park. It is a newer option, so check recent guest reviews before you book.
Larger downtown hotels such as the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Westin Peachtree Plaza and Atlanta Marriott Marquis are further into downtown. The CAMX 2026 organizers ran shuttles from the Westin Peachtree Plaza, Marriott Marquis and Hyatt Regency, so they are good bases when your event offers a shuttle.
We have not ranked hotels by guest rating or by price. Choose by building: Signia for Building C, Omni for Building A, a Pedestrian Mall or Baker Street hotel for Building B, and a larger downtown hotel if your event runs a shuttle or you prefer a more central base. For corporate bookings, hotels can be booked for a team with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available.
Eating and evenings near the Georgia World Congress Center
Inside the buildings, food is run by Levy Restaurants, which the planning guide says has exclusive food and beverage rights on the campus. The GWCC's FAQ says food options typically include concession stands, cafes, kiosks and event based catering, and that availability depends on the event. Do not expect the same food options on every day, and plan for a lunch break away from the hall if you want more choice.
The Signia by Hilton Atlanta has several dining options, and the GWCC's FAQ names Nest and Capolinea. The Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park lists four dining venues, including the Top Draft sports bar. The new Moxy Atlanta Downtown has Bar Moxy, a social lobby bar, the Jagger Suite rooftop lounge, and Eggslut, which Atlanta News First called the concept's East Coast debut.
Centennial Olympic Park is the outdoor center of the district, and the planning guide says it is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The GWCC's Explore Atlanta page lists these attractions near the campus: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, World of Coca-Cola, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Georgia Aquarium, State Farm Arena, the Children's Museum of Atlanta, the College Football Hall of Fame and SkyView Atlanta. It describes the area as a walkable, experience rich district, but gives no distances.
The Hotel Phoenix, in Centennial Yards, is described by the development as a new tourism hub. We did not verify individual restaurants or their hours, so ask your hotel for a current recommendation or search a map app near your building.
DreamHack's visitor guide says downtown Atlanta has hotels, restaurants and attractions that you can reach by the Atlanta Streetcar, which has 12 stops. The GWCC's Explore Atlanta page also links to Discover Atlanta for where to eat and where to stay.
Tips for exhibitors and visitors
Know your building before you book anything. Buildings A, B and C have different entrances, different MARTA stations, different parking decks and different rideshare points. Check the show's floor plan first, then pick your hotel and parking.
Prepurchase parking. The GWCC highly recommends it for most events. Choose the deck closest to your building: Green for A, Red for B, Blue or Yellow for C.
Use MARTA when you can. SEC District Station is the stop for Buildings A and B, and SEC District or Vine City works for Building C. The GWCC says that for many events, MARTA is the fastest and easiest way to arrive.
For exhibitors, the GWCC planning guide gives a timeline: provide the high level event schedule, forecast attendance and floor plans at least 90 days before first move in, with more detail at 60 and 30 days. The planning guide says Gates 6 and 20 are used for load in and load out and are staffed by GWCC Public Safety from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and that after hours may incur fees. General load in is not permitted on the Pedestrian Mall.
Food and drink rules matter for exhibitors. Levy Restaurants has exclusive food and beverage rights on the campus, and Coca-Cola has exclusive pouring and beverage signage rights, per the planning guide. Contact your Event Services representative before bringing food or drinks into your booth.
The planning guide says the FedEx Office business center in the A/B Lobby opens 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, with other hours by request 30 days ahead. Wi-Fi is available in common areas on the GWCCWIFI network, according to the FAQ, and bag policies vary by event, so check your event's rules before arriving.
Upcoming and recent shows include IPPE (January 26 to 28, 2027), DreamHack Atlanta (May 2026), IWF Atlanta (August 2026) and CAMX (September 2026). The GWCC's own calendar at gwcc.com/calendar lists the full schedule. Companies sending a team can book hotels with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available.
