23 Apr – 2 May 2027 National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) 1,010,000 attendees
Auto Shanghai (Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition) is one of the world's largest motor shows, held every odd year and returning in April 2027. It draws global automakers, EV and battery firms, tier-one suppliers, tech companies and tens of thousands of trade and press visitors to unveil vehicles and mobility technology. The 2027 edition takes place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai's Hongqiao district. For a business traveller the location is a major advantage: NECC sits about 1.5 km from the Hongqiao transport hub, linking Hongqiao Airport, the high-speed rail station and central Shanghai via Metro Line 2. Because the venue is enormous and the show is a magnet for the international auto industry, hotels around Hongqiao and along Line 2 fill quickly, so securing a room near the venue or on a direct metro line saves significant daily commuting time.
Popular areas for attendees: Hongqiao CBD · Xujiahui · Jing'an/People's Square.

The Hongqiao business district around NECC is the most convenient, putting you minutes from the halls, the airport and high-speed rail. Hotels along Metro Line 2 toward the city centre are a good compromise if Hongqiao is full.
Mid-range Hongqiao hotels typically run in the region of USD 120-250 a night, with rates rising sharply during the show. Expect premium and international-brand properties to surge well above their normal pricing.
Book three to six months ahead. As a global motor show it draws huge international attendance and the best-located Hongqiao rooms sell out first.
