18 Mar – 21 Mar 2027 BolognaFiere 250,000 attendees
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the beauty industry's flagship trade fair, holds its 57th edition at BolognaFiere from 26 to 29 March 2026. Around 250,000 professionals — brand founders, buyers, distributors, packaging and contract-manufacturing specialists, salon and nail professionals — descend on roughly 3,000 exhibitors spread across the fairground's sector-specific halls, with Cosmopack covering the supply chain and separate salons for perfumery, cosmetics, hair and nails running on offset schedules. Bologna is a compact city of under 400,000 people, so the fair does not just tighten the hotel market, it exhausts it: rooms in the Fiera District and the historic centre are gone months ahead, and latecomers end up commuting from Modena or Florence by train. The rates on this page are live and bookable, which matters more here than at almost any other European trade show.

BolognaFiere is 15 minutes from the medieval center by taxi or bus, and the Fiera district has its own serious dining nearby - but most evenings you'll want the Quadrilatero's food streets and the city's storied trattorias. This is Italy's food capital: book trattorias days ahead during major fairs.

The Fiera District puts you within walking distance of the halls, while the historic centre (anywhere near Bologna Centrale or Piazza Maggiore) offers far better evenings with a 15-20 minute bus or taxi commute. San Donato is a practical mid-priced zone between the two. If all three are gone, Modena by regional train is the established overflow.
Bologna's rates during Cosmoprof are among the steepest fair-week spikes in Europe — two to four times normal is common, and it is availability rather than price that becomes the real problem. Booking early matters more than hunting for bargains.
Six months ahead is the practical minimum for a decent central or Fiera-area hotel; regulars book almost a year out, often the week the dates are announced. A refundable rate booked early is the sensible hedge.
Bologna Guglielmo Marconi (BLQ), 6 km from the fairground, is the direct answer, but capacity is limited and fares surge. Milan (then a one-hour Frecciarossa) or Florence (35-40 minutes by train) are reliable alternatives that frequently work out cheaper overall.
Cosmoprof is a professional trade fair: tickets are aimed at operators in beauty, cosmetics, hair, nails, packaging and distribution, and registration asks for professional details. Check the official ticketing page for the current admission policy for your visitor category.
