How do you get to FISCH & ANGEL?
From Dortmund Airport (DTM)
- The AirportExpress bus runs non-stop between the terminal and Dortmund Hauptbahnhof in about 25 minutes, according to Dortmund Airport, and stops on the station forecourt (exit Königswall, towards the city)
- The AirportExpress and the AirportShuttle are not part of the VRR local transport network, so you need a separate ticket for them
- The AirportShuttle links the terminal with Holzwickede station in about six minutes for onward regional trains
- The organiser also names Düsseldorf and Cologne Bonn as nearby airports, useful if your flights are better there
By rail or by car
- Dortmund Hauptbahnhof is the rail hub; from there the U45 reaches the Westfalenhallen stop in 10 minutes, and the organiser points to Deutsche Bahn's event offers for the journey to Dortmund
- For drivers, the organiser gives Messe Dortmund, Rheinlanddamm 200, 44139 Dortmund as the destination address, with access from the B1 (A40) to the A1, A2, A45 and A42, Messe Dortmund says
- The organiser lists car parks A3, A4 and A8 plus DoPark car parks C1/D1, D2 and E1
- Messe Dortmund charges €11 a car on its A1 to A8 car parks, rising to €12 from 1 January 2027, and visitors to fairs cannot buy parking online in advance
How do you get around during FISCH & ANGEL?
Getting to the Westfalenhallen each day
- The U45 runs from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof to the Westfalenhallen stop in 10 minutes, and the U46 reaches the same stop in about five; the organiser says the stops are step free and well signposted
- The fair is open from 10:00 to 18:00 every day from Tuesday 2 to Sunday 7 February 2027
- The 2027 site plan puts fishing accessories in Hall 1, alongside the KNIFE ZONE and hunting accessories
- The fairground is fully step free: halls 4 to 8 are linked at ground level, lifts serve the upper halls, and wheelchairs can be borrowed against a deposit at the North Entrance while stocks last
Where to stay in Dortmund
- The Kreuzviertel and the streets around the Westfalenhallen put you closest to the halls, which helps on a long day or with a stand to run
- Dortmund city centre and the Hauptbahnhof area have the widest choice of hotels and restaurants, with direct U-Bahn lines to the fair
- Hotels near the airport or Holzwickede suit a late arrival or an early flight, with the AirportShuttle to Holzwickede station
- The organiser recommends booking early because high hotel occupancy is expected during the fair, and points to the Westenhellweg shopping street and the Brückstraße quarter for an evening out
Do you need a visa for FISCH & ANGEL?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Germany is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
- The German Federal Foreign Office lists citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries as needing no visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period

- Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through German missions or their appointed visa centres
- Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
- The organiser says that, under a Federal Foreign Office decree, an invitation letter from the trade fair company is generally not needed; if you still want one, you can create it yourself with the visa form on the JAGD & HUND visitor page and receive it by email

- A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
- Your JAGD & HUND ticket or exhibitor pass, plus the self-generated invitation letter if you used one
- If you bring a dog, its vaccination card or a vet's certificate showing a valid rabies vaccination
