International Security Expo returns to the Grand Hall at Olympia London on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 November 2027, a move to a late November slot after recent editions in late September. The organiser says it brings together more than 10,000 professionals responsible for the security and resilience of businesses, people and critical national infrastructure, counter terrorism, and homeland and international security, with over 300 exhibiting brands. Alongside the show floor run the Global Counter Terror & Security Summit, the International Security & Resilience Conference, live demonstrations, specialist zones and trails, and the co-located International Cyber Expo, which the same pass covers. It is a trade only event: free to attend, every application is vetted, and under 18s are not admitted. Olympia is in Kensington, west London, next to Kensington (Olympia) station, so Kensington, Hammersmith, Earl's Court and Shepherd's Bush are the most practical areas for International Security Expo hotels, with central London a short ride away. This page shows live hotel rates near Olympia for your dates; your visitor pass comes from the organiser and is separate from your hotel booking.

How do you get to International Security Expo?

From London Heathrow (LHR)

  • Heathrow describes the Piccadilly line as the most cost-effective rail route into London: trains stop at all Heathrow terminals and the airport puts the journey to central London at about 50 minutes
  • For Olympia, the venue suggests taking the Piccadilly line to Barons Court or Hammersmith; Olympia puts Barons Court at a 9 minute walk, and Hammersmith at 5 minutes by bus or a 15 minute walk
  • Heathrow says Piccadilly line trains run between 05:00 and 23:30, so check the last train if you land late on a weekday
  • The N9 night bus runs every 30 minutes from Terminal 5 and Heathrow Central bus station, according to the airport, and Olympia lists the N9 among the night buses that stop near the venue

By rail, Tube and car

  • The organiser says Kensington (Olympia) is on the London Overground network, one stop from Shepherd's Bush (Central line) or West Brompton (District line), and the venue is next to the station
  • Olympia says the station is served by the London Overground Mildmay line, with frequent trains between Stratford and Clapham Junction, and by Southern services to Watford Junction
  • The organiser recommends public transport: Olympia can offer only very limited parking on site and pre-booking is essential to guarantee a space
  • Olympia is inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), so check whether your vehicle is charged before you drive in

How do you get around during International Security Expo?

Getting to Olympia each show day

  • The show runs on a Wednesday and Thursday, so the weekday route applies: Olympia says to change at West Brompton on the District line for a 2 minute Overground journey to Kensington (Olympia)
  • From the Central line, change at Shepherd's Bush for a 2 minute Overground train to Kensington (Olympia)
  • On foot, Olympia puts West Kensington at a 12 minute walk or a 4 minute bus ride and Barons Court at a 9 minute walk
  • Olympia asks visitors to check the TfL status page for the latest service updates before setting off

Buses and evenings

  • Bus routes 9, 23, 27, 28, 49 and 391 stop a short walk from the venue, according to Olympia
  • Route 9 runs to Aldwych and route 23 to Westbourne Park, handy if you stay further into central London
  • Night buses N9, N23, N27 and N28 also stop nearby, useful after the networking drinks at the end of day one
  • The nearest free cash machines, the organiser says, are outside the Post Office at 8-10 North End Road and outside Sainsbury's Local on Kensington High Street

Do you need a visa for International Security Expo?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • British and Irish passport holders do not need an ETA or a visa
  • Most visitors who do not need a visa, including those from Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they travel
  • An ETA costs £20 and lets you visit the UK for up to six months; apply only through GOV.UK, as other websites may charge more
  • Each person travelling needs their own ETA; the organiser also reminds visitors that an ETA is not a visa and does not guarantee entry

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals who are not eligible for an ETA need a Standard Visitor visa to attend International Security Expo; check your nationality on GOV.UK
  • A Standard Visitor visa costs £135 for up to six months, and the earliest you can apply is three months before you travel
  • GOV.UK allows visitors to attend trade fairs to promote their business, but you cannot sell things at a trade fair or do paid work for a UK client
  • The organiser does not issue visa letters to visitors; it suggests using the email that confirms your approved registration as supporting documentation, and only invited speakers and fully paid exhibitors can get a support letter

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for your whole stay, the same one you used for your ETA or visa
  • Your International Security Expo badge, printed at home if you can, plus a form of ID such as a business card, as the organiser may ask for one
  • Your hotel booking and return travel details, in case the Border Force officer asks about your visit

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements on GOV.UK before you book.

First time at International Security Expo?

  • Opening times are 09:30 to 17:30 on Wednesday 24 November and 09:30 to 16:00 on Thursday 25 November 2027
  • Registration for 2027 had not opened when we checked; the organiser's site offers a register your interest form, and once registration opens it aims to review applications within 3 working days
  • The show is free but trade only: visitors must work in security or cyber, the armed forces, government, procurement, specifying, end user operations, trade media or research, all attendees are vetted, and under 18s are not admitted under any circumstances
  • Register with a work email address: the organiser says a personal email may delay approval and lead to requests for more information
  • The Summit and Conference sessions are free and first come, first served, so arrive early for the ones you most want to hear

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • One pass covers both International Security Expo and the co-located International Cyber Expo, and you can walk directly between them inside Olympia
  • The cloakroom is to the right of the main entrance inside the hall and opens from 09:00 until half an hour after the show closes, with a charge per item each day
  • International buyers with an active requirement can look at the organiser's Global Meetings & Delegations Programme before travelling
