iVT Expo, the trade show for industrial and off-highway vehicle technology, returns to Hall 1 at Koelnmesse in Cologne on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 June 2027, open from 10:00 to 17:00 on both days. It brings the supply chain behind construction, mining, agricultural, forestry and material handling machines together under one roof: drivetrains, electric and hybrid systems, autonomy, hydraulics, control systems and cab technology, shown to OEMs, engineers, designers and tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers. The 2026 edition was the biggest yet, with more than 180 exhibitors, and the Off-Highway Evolution Conference runs alongside the expo, with the conference now included in the visitor pass. The show is organised by UKi Media & Events and is for trade professionals only. Koelnmesse sits in Deutz on the right bank of the Rhine, with the Köln Messe/Deutz ICE station next to the grounds, so iVT Expo hotels in Deutz keep the morning trip short, while the Altstadt and the Hauptbahnhof area across the river give you more choice for dinners. This page shows live Cologne hotel rates for your dates. Your visitor pass is registered separately with the organiser.

How do you get to iVT Expo?

From Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN)

  • The organiser says Koelnmesse is only a 15 minute drive from Cologne Bonn Airport, which has flights from Europe's major cities
  • Cologne Bonn Airport has its own ICE station next to both terminals and is served around the clock by S-Bahn, regional and bus lines
  • By S-Bahn, lines S13 and S19 reach Köln Messe/Deutz station from the airport in about 15 minutes, according to the Koelnmesse travel page of another fair held there (ANGA COM)
  • Taxis wait at the Koelnmesse entrances for your return trip, and Koelnmesse lists TAXI-RUF Cologne on +49 221 2882

By rail or by car

  • The Köln Messe/Deutz station for high speed trains is directly next to the exhibition grounds, the organiser and Koelnmesse both say
  • S-Bahn lines S6, S11, S12 and S19 stop at Köln Messe/Deutz, and trams 1 and 9 stop at Köln Messe/Deutz underground station, both within walking distance of Entrance South
  • Trams 3 and 4 stop at Köln Messe/Deutz for Entrances East, West and North, according to Koelnmesse
  • The organiser says the venue is easily reached from the motorway and has visitor and exhibitor parking, and points to the Koelnmesse website for the latest parking details

How do you get around during iVT Expo?

Your two days at Koelnmesse

  • The expo fills Hall 1, and the Off-Highway Evolution Conference runs alongside it at Koelnmesse on the same two days
  • Opening hours are 10:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday 9 June and Thursday 10 June 2027
  • Seating areas with charging points and a food hall are on the show floor; the show layout marks where they are
  • The official event app goes live about six weeks before the show and is the organiser's tool for planning meetings and sessions

Deutz, the Altstadt or the station area?

  • Deutz is the district around the fairgrounds and Köln Messe/Deutz station, so it keeps the morning trip shortest
  • The Altstadt, the cathedral and the Hauptbahnhof area are across the Rhine from Deutz, with more hotels and restaurants for team dinners
  • Staying near any station on the S6, S11, S12 or S19 lines gives you a direct S-Bahn ride to Köln Messe/Deutz
  • Koelnmesse's own Cologne guide points to modern restaurants in the Belgian Quarter (Belgisches Viertel) and at the Rhine harbour for evenings

Do you need a visa for iVT Expo?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Germany is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • The German Federal Foreign Office lists citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries as needing no visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through German missions or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • The organiser issues visa invitation letters once you have completed the visitor registration and starts processing them 16 weeks before the show; exhibitors and speakers contact its visa department directly

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your iVT Expo visitor pass or exhibitor pass, plus the organiser's invitation letter if you applied for a visa with one
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the German embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at iVT Expo?

  • iVT Expo is trade only and not open to the general public, and children under 16 are not permitted
  • One visitor pass covers both days and the Off-Highway Evolution Conference; you register once and do not book individual sessions
  • No industry accreditation is needed: the organiser says the show is open to all professionals working in industrial vehicles
  • Popular conference talks get busy, so the organiser advises arriving early to get a seat
  • Many visitors find one day enough for the show floor, the organiser says, but two days suit you if you have several meetings or want the conference

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Exhibitors: nothing may be removed and no contractors enter the halls before the show closes at 17:00 on Thursday 10 June 2027; build and breakdown times are in the contractor information document
  • Ignore emails offering an iVT Expo attendee list for sale: the organiser says these are not authorised and its attendee data is not for sale
  • The organiser names FHTglobal as its official housing bureau; Event Escapes is independent and not affiliated with iVT Expo, UKi Media & Events or Koelnmesse, and you book a named hotel directly with us at the rate shown
