About Blue Canyon Country Club (Canyon Course)
Carved from an abandoned tin mine and rubber plantations and opened in 1991 to a Yoshikazu Kato design, Blue Canyon's Canyon Course is the most storied golf course in southern Thailand. It hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic three times, most famously in 1998 when Tiger Woods came from eight shots back on the final day to win in a playoff. The layout uses the old mining canyons and lakes as dramatic hazards, framing a lush parkland test that plays to over 7,100 yards from the tips. Despite its pedigree it remains a pay-and-play resort course, so visiting golfers can walk the same fairways as the game's greats.
