Getting to Long Beach Convention Center
The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, usually called the Long Beach Convention Center, is at 300 East Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach, CA 90802, in the heart of downtown by the waterfront. It is a campus rather than a single building. The venue's own pages describe three adjoining exhibit halls, two theaters, an arena, four ballrooms and 34 meeting rooms, and say there is more than 400,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space.
Most visitors drive, and the venue publishes directions for each approach. From Los Angeles International Airport, take Interstate 405 south to the Long Beach Freeway (Interstate 710), go south to the downtown exits, and follow Shoreline Drive to Linden Avenue and into the parking lot. From Long Beach Airport, take Lakewood Boulevard south to Interstate 405, then north to the 710 and south to the downtown exits. From John Wayne Airport, take Interstate 405 north to the 710 and go south. From north Orange County and the valleys, the venue sends you via the 57 or 605 to the 91 and then the 710 south.
By train, the Metro A Line runs from Pomona to Long Beach, according to Metro's website, and Visit Long Beach says you can connect to it from the First Street Transit Gallery in downtown Long Beach. Visit Long Beach also says the Transit and Visitor Information Center at 130 East 1st Street sells TAP cards and bus passes. The PyCon US 2026 transit page for its conference at the venue says there are four Metro stations in downtown Long Beach, but we have not found an official walking time from any of them to the convention center, so check a map for the station you use.
Long Beach Transit runs buses on major streets and a free downtown circulator called Passport. Visit Long Beach says Passport runs Friday to Sunday with stops at the Queen Mary, Pine Avenue and Shoreline Village, and Long Beach Transit has described it as serving the Convention Center, the Aquarium of the Pacific and downtown hotels. A separate on demand electric shuttle, the Circuit, serves Downtown, Belmont Shore and Alamitos Beach.
Long Beach is close to the water, so in summer there are also water taxis. Visit Long Beach describes the AquaLink from Alamitos Bay Landing to the Aquarium and Queen Mary, and the AquaBus around Rainbow Harbor, which is a short walk from the Promenade side of the convention center.
Entrances and halls at Long Beach Convention Center
The venue's campus map and capacity sheet, dated 2021, set out the layout. The three exhibit halls can be used on their own or together. Hall A is 91,000 square feet, Hall B is 57,000 and Hall C is 76,000. Combined, they give up to 224,000 square feet of contiguous floor space, and the venue says the ceiling is 25 feet. The exhibition halls sheet says Hall A and Hall B are served by the North Dock, with five truck bays and a ramp for Hall A and three truck bays for Hall B, and Hall C is served by the South Dock with eight truck bays and a ramp.
Public entrances are on the Promenade side. The 2021 campus map marks a Main Entrance at the Promenade Lobby on the Pine Avenue side, with the Promenade Ballroom (Room 104) nearby, the Grand Ballroom and VIP rooms off the lobby, and Meeting Rooms 101 to 103 and 201 to 204 on the first and second levels. The venue says the Promenade Plaza, just outside the lobby, overlooks South Pine Avenue and Rainbow Harbor.
The other half of the campus is across Seaside Way. The Seaside Lobby serves the Seaside Ballroom (6,317 square feet) and Seaside meeting rooms, and the Terrace Theater (3,052 seats) and the Beverly O'Neill Theater (825 seats) have their own entrances. The Pacific Ballroom is 46,000 square feet inside the Arena, which seats up to 13,500 at maximum capacity. The venue describes a pedestrian bridge, The Rainbow Bridge, that carries people east over Seaside Way between the Pine Avenue entrance and the theaters, Seaside meeting rooms and Arena, and its campus map page refers to a new Pacific Breezeway pedestrian bridge as coming soon.
If you are visiting for a public show, the Quinceanera.com Expo scheduled for October 2026 is listed in Exhibit Hall A, which gives an example of how a consumer event uses the halls. Always check your own event's instructions, because registration and queue areas are decided by each show.
Accessibility is on the venue's website. It says designated accessible parking is available in all four parking structures around the center, with a valid placard or plate required, and recommends using the designated drop off zones if a parking area is a long way from your entrance.
Last trains and getting back late
For a late finish, the clearest official timetable we could read is for the free Passport bus. The Long Beach Transit Passport timetable, effective August 23, 2026, shows that on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the last southbound trip leaves the 10th and Pine stop at about 10:50 pm, and the last northbound trip leaves the Queen Mary and Cruise Terminal stop at about 11:10 pm. Passport does not run Monday to Thursday, so do not count on it on weekdays. Always check the current timetable, as Long Beach Transit sometimes changes schedules.
For the Metro A Line, we did not read a last train time that we could stand behind, and we are not stating one. Metro publishes a timetable for the A Line effective June 7, 2026 on its site, so check the last departure for your day of travel and your station before you plan a trip back to Los Angeles. This matters most on a Sunday or a holiday, when frequencies are usually different.
If you are staying downtown, walking is the easy late night option. The venue describes a walkable downtown with the city's shopping, entertainment and dining within walking distance, and Visit Long Beach calls the area known for walkable streets. Use well lit streets such as Pine Avenue and Ocean Boulevard, and stay aware of your surroundings as you would in any downtown at night.
Visit Long Beach says the Circuit electric shuttle runs Thursday and Friday from 4 to 10 pm, Saturday from noon to 10 pm and Sunday from noon to 6 pm. It is free and on demand through an app, so it can help on shorter hops downtown.
Beyond that, ride share and taxis are the fall back. For Long Beach Airport, the venue's own directions run via Lakewood Boulevard, Interstate 405 and the Long Beach Freeway, so build in time if you have a flight. If a concert at the Terrace Theater or Arena ends at a similar time to your show, allow extra time to leave the parking structures.
Parking at Long Beach Convention Center
The venue says it has parking for more than 4,000 vehicles across its Arena, Convention Center, Terrace Theater and Beverly O'Neill Theater areas. The Arena Parking Garage has 1,200 spaces and is open for conventions, trade shows and arena events. The Promenade Parking Garage has 400 spaces and is open for conventions, trade shows and special events. The Terrace Theater Parking Garage has 700 spaces and is generally open for theater events. The Main Parking Lot along Shoreline Drive has 1,900 spaces.
The addresses the venue lists are useful for your navigation app. The Main Parking Lot is on Linden Avenue, the Arena Parking Garage is on East Seaside Way, and the Convention Center Promenade Garage is at East Seaside Way and Pine Avenue. We are not quoting rates here, because the venue says rates may differ by event. Check your event's page on the venue calendar for the fee, and note that there is no in and out access and no overnight parking.
The system is automated. You collect a ticket at the entry gate and must pay before you leave, either at one of the kiosks around the campus or at the exit gate with a credit or debit card. Kiosks accept major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and cash is accepted at select kiosks in the Convention Center Promenade Lobby and near the Arena box office. You can also pay through the ACE Parking app. ACE Parking is the venue's official parking operator, and the venue says it does not authorize ticket sales or reservations through third party vendors.
For select upcoming events you can reserve parking in advance at any of the lots. Electric vehicle charging is available at EV Passport spots after you buy a regular parking pass, and you pay for charging by scanning a QR code. Tailgating is not allowed and overnight RV parking is prohibited unless an event says otherwise.
If the on site garages fill, the venue lists off site garages, including The Pike Outlets garage at 65 Cedar Avenue, the Aquarium garage at 99 Golden Shore, the West Broadway garage at 332 West Broadway, the 180 East Ocean garage, and City Place garages A, B and C on East 6th, East 5th and West 4th Streets. These are the venue's suggestions, so check that a lot is open on your day before you rely on it.
Which side of Long Beach Convention Center to stay on
Downtown Long Beach is compact, so almost any downtown hotel works, but the details differ. The venue's Promenade Plaza overlooks South Pine Avenue and Rainbow Harbor, and the 2021 campus map shows Ocean Boulevard along the top of the campus, with the Seaside Lobby and the theaters toward it.
The closest rooms are along Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue. Visit Long Beach's hotel directory lists the Hyatt Regency Long Beach at 200 South Pine Avenue, Marriott Long Beach Downtown at 111 East Ocean Boulevard, Fairmont Breakers Long Beach at 210 East Ocean Boulevard, and The Westin Long Beach at 333 East Ocean Boulevard. On OpenStreetMap coordinates, the Hyatt Regency is about 0.1 miles in a straight line from the venue's map point, and the Marriott and Westin are about 0.2 miles.
If you prefer to stay east of the center, along East 1st Street and East Broadway, the directory lists the Courtyard Long Beach Downtown at 500 East 1st Street, the Best Western Plus Hotel at the Convention Center at 517 East 1st Street, and the Hotel Metropolitan at 505 East Broadway. The Travelodge by Wyndham Long Beach Convention Center at 80 Atlantic Avenue calls itself walking distance to the convention center.
The waterfront side has its own choice. Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach is at 285 Bay Street, close to The Pike Outlets, and the Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown, the Hotel Maya and the Queen Mary are across the water on Queensway Drive and Queens Highway. On OpenStreetMap coordinates the Residence Inn at 600 Queensway Drive is about 0.75 miles in a straight line, so it is a longer walk or a short ride rather than a few steps.
Overall, if you are going to be in the halls all day, choose a hotel on Pine Avenue, Ocean Boulevard or East 1st Street. If you are attending an evening event at the Terrace Theater or Arena, the Westin and Ocean Boulevard hotels are the shortest walk. If you want to be near the cruise terminal or the Queen Mary, use the Queensway side.
Budget hotel brands near Long Beach Convention Center: what we could confirm
Visitors searching for cheap hotels near the Long Beach Convention Center are usually after economy and select service names within a short walk. We do not quote prices here, because they change with events and season. Instead, here are the lower tier and chain names that sit near the center, so you can compare them on the booking page.
The Best Western Plus Hotel at the Convention Center is listed by Visit Long Beach at 517 East 1st Street, and OpenStreetMap places it about 0.4 miles in a straight line from the venue's map point. The Courtyard Long Beach Downtown is next door at 500 East 1st Street, about 0.3 miles. The Travelodge by Wyndham Long Beach Convention Center is at 80 Atlantic Avenue, about 0.4 miles, and describes itself as walking distance to the center. The Hotel Metropolitan at 505 East Broadway and the City Center Hotel by Kasa at 566 East 3rd Street are also on Visit Long Beach's list.
A little further out, the Residence Inn Long Beach Downtown at 600 Queensway Drive is about 0.75 miles away in a straight line. The Hampton Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn and Courtyard properties that the directory lists on Lakewood Boulevard and Willow Street are near Long Beach Airport, which is a drive from the convention center, so they only make sense if you are flying in and out of that airport.
We have not confirmed any prices or room types, and we are not claiming any of these is the cheapest. The best way to compare is to search the same dates across the downtown hotels on this list. Event weekends, such as Long Beach Comic Con in September, raise demand across the whole downtown.
If your company is paying, hotels can be booked for a team with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available. This is often simpler than everyone booking separately when a group is attending the same event.
How close are the hotels to Long Beach Convention Center on foot?
Searchers looking for hotels within walking distance of the Long Beach Convention Center have plenty of choice. The venue says the city's shopping, entertainment and dining are within walking distance, and the Visit Long Beach hotel directory lists about 30 properties, many of them downtown.
The nearest are the Hyatt Regency Long Beach at 200 South Pine Avenue, which OpenStreetMap places about 0.1 miles from the venue's map point in a straight line, then Marriott Long Beach Downtown at 111 East Ocean Boulevard, The Westin Long Beach at 333 East Ocean Boulevard and Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach at 285 Bay Street, each about 0.2 miles. Hotel Mai at 107 Long Beach Boulevard is about 0.25 miles. The venue's 2021 campus map also labels a Renaissance Hotel on the Ocean Boulevard side near The Rainbow Bridge entrance.
Next come the hotels on East 1st Street and Broadway: the Courtyard Long Beach Downtown at about 0.3 miles, the Best Western Plus Hotel at the Convention Center at about 0.4, Hotel Royal at 431 East Broadway (from OpenStreetMap) at about 0.4 and the Travelodge at 80 Atlantic Avenue at about 0.4 miles. Fairmont Breakers Long Beach at 210 East Ocean Boulevard is also on the Visit Long Beach list on the same stretch of Ocean Boulevard.
Further west, the Hilton Long Beach at 701 West Ocean Boulevard is about 0.65 miles in a straight line, and across the water the Hotel Maya and Residence Inn on Queensway Drive are about 0.7 to 0.75 miles. Those distances are straight line figures from OpenStreetMap coordinates, not walking routes, so allow for crossings and the Pike area.
We have not stated walking minutes, because we did not find an official walking time for any hotel. Use a map app for the exact route from your hotel to the entrance for your hall or theater, and remember the campus is split by Seaside Way, so the Pine Avenue entrance and the Terrace Theater side are separate walks.
Upmarket hotels near Long Beach Convention Center: what we could confirm
Searchers asking about the best hotels near the Long Beach Convention Center usually mean the full service hotels along Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue. We have not ranked them by guest reviews, because we did not read review scores from a primary source, but these are the properties that Visit Long Beach lists nearest the venue.
The Hyatt Regency Long Beach at 200 South Pine Avenue is the closest by map distance. Marriott Long Beach Downtown at 111 East Ocean Boulevard, Fairmont Breakers Long Beach at 210 East Ocean Boulevard and The Westin Long Beach at 333 East Ocean Boulevard are all on Ocean Boulevard, the street that gives the convention center its address. Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach at 285 Bay Street sits by the waterfront entertainment area.
The Hilton Long Beach at 701 West Ocean Boulevard and the Hotel Maya, a DoubleTree by Hilton, at 700 Queensway Drive give a different feel, closer to the water and the Queen Mary. The Queen Mary itself, at 1126 Queens Highway, offers hotel rooms and is listed on Visit Long Beach's directory. These are a short drive or a longer walk rather than next door.
If you value being as close as possible to the hall, the Hyatt Regency, Marriott and Westin are the safest choices. If you want to be near restaurants on Pine Avenue and the waterfront, Hyatt Centric The Pike is well placed. If your stay includes a cruise or the Queen Mary, the Queensway side makes sense.
Hotels can be booked for a team with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available if you are bringing a group to the same show. That works well for exhibitors and delegations.
Eating and evenings near Long Beach Convention Center
Inside the building, the venue's on site dining page lists hot dogs and snacks, a deli stand with sandwiches and wraps, a grill with burgers and fries, and a Coffee Stop serving Starbucks drinks. Which stands open depends on the event, so do not count on a full menu at every show. The venue also has a concierge and restaurant reservation desk, according to its convention page.
Outside, Visit Long Beach describes the downtown district as centered on Pine Avenue, The Promenade and Broadway, with chef driven restaurants, casual eateries, rooftop and underground lounges, craft breweries and cocktail bars. It names Bo Beau Kitchen and Roof Tap, Altar Society Brewing Company, The Stave Bar, The Pie Bar, ISM Brewing and Kitchen and Yard House as examples.
Shoreline Village, which Visit Long Beach says overlooks Rainbow Harbor and Queensway Bay, has restaurants and shops in turn of the century style buildings. The Pike Outlets has restaurants, entertainment venues and shops, plus a vintage Ferris wheel and carousel. The East Village Arts District is known for shops, galleries and restaurants.
The venue's own site says that the Terrace Theater, the Beverly O'Neill Theater and the Arena host concerts and performances, and the Downtown Long Beach Alliance calendar shows examples such as the Long Beach Nutcracker at the Terrace Theater in December. If you are at a trade show and there is an evening show on campus, expect a busy Pine Avenue and Ocean Boulevard.
For dinner after a long day in the hall, the simplest plan is to walk up Pine Avenue. Visit Long Beach links to a blog on dining within walking distance of the convention center, which is worth a look. Book ahead on event weekends, since restaurants near the center fill when a large show or concert ends.
Tips for exhibitors and visitors
Check which entrance your event uses before you arrive. The campus has a Promenade side with the exhibit halls and a Seaside and theater side across Seaside Way, and your organizer will tell you which lobby handles registration. The Promenade Lobby is the main entrance for the exhibit halls on the Pine Avenue side, according to the venue's campus map.
If you are exhibiting, read the exhibition halls sheet. The venue says it does not provide equipment for the exhibit halls, so tables, chairs and carpet come from your show's general service contractor. Hall A and B load from the North Dock and Hall C from the South Dock, and complimentary wireless internet in the lobbies. Dedicated internet and phone lines are ordered through the venue's provider.
Plan parking before you arrive. Know which garage your show recommends, bring a card, and keep your ticket, because payment is at a kiosk or at the exit gate and the lots do not allow in and out. On big days, consider a downtown hotel and walking instead.
For events at the Arena or theaters, give yourself time to move between sides of the campus. The Rainbow Bridge exists to shorten that walk, but it is a reminder that the buildings are spread out. The venue is also scheduled to be an Olympic venue in 2028 according to Wikipedia, and Visit Long Beach says the city hosts eight athletic events at the 2028 Games, so expect extra activity in the area when that nears.
Book hotels early for popular weekends such as Long Beach Comic Con in September. If you are travelling as a team, hotels can be booked with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available. Send us the dates, the number of rooms and the event, and we can help.
