Getting to Los Angeles Convention Center

The Los Angeles Convention Center is at 1201 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015, in downtown Los Angeles next to the L.A. LIVE entertainment district. The venue says it is about 2.4 million square feet across two buildings, the South Hall and the West Hall, with five exhibit halls and 64 meeting rooms. Its own pages stress that it is easy to reach by car and by Metro.

Metro Rail is the simplest way in. The venue's Getting Here page lists Pico Station, served by the A Line and E Line, at about an 8 minute walk. It lists 7th Street and Metro Center, where the A, B, D and E lines meet, at about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, and LATTC and Ortho Institute Station on the E Line at about 10 to 12 minutes. Metro's site describes the A Line as running from Pomona to Long Beach and the E Line from East Los Angeles to Santa Monica, and the venue lists Pico Station on the A Line, so the A Line is the route from Long Beach.

There is an important caution for the walk from Pico Station. The venue says Pico Boulevard between Figueroa Street and L.A. Live Way is fully closed around the clock from December 4, 2025 through March 31, 2028, for the expansion project. The page does not say how this changes the walk from the station, so check the closure map that the venue links before you set out.

Buses also stop nearby. The venue lists Metro Lines 30, 81, 442, 460 and the Silver Line, and DASH Route F, which has several stops on Figueroa Street next to the Convention Center and L.A. LIVE. The closest Metro Bike station is right out front of the West Hall on South Figueroa Street between 12th Street and Pico Boulevard. Metrolink riders from Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties and the Antelope, San Fernando and Perris valleys can transfer to Metro on the same ticket, according to the venue.

The venue's pages do not list airport routes or Amtrak, so for those use Metro's trip planner or a ride share. The venue does not run its own shuttle between the airport or hotels and the halls, and says nearby hotels may offer shuttle services, so check with your hotel.

Entrances and halls at Los Angeles Convention Center

The venue is made up of two connected buildings. According to its venue map page, the West Hall and the South Hall are joined by interior walkways. The exhibit halls page gives these sizes: West Hall spans 210,685 square feet of virtually column free space, South Hall spans nearly 350,000 square feet, Concourse Hall and Petree Hall are 26,342 square feet each, and Kentia Hall spans 160,000 square feet. The venue states the total as 720,000 square feet across five halls.

The meeting rooms are on the top level. The venue describes 64 column free meeting rooms with 147,000 square feet of flexible space. There are 48 covered, lighted freight loading docks, and the Level 1 floor plan marks a West Dock entrance and exit, a South Dock, and a Truck Bridge, so exhibitors should ask their organizer which dock is theirs.

The venue's 2026 Level 1 floor plan labels the spaces visitors will recognize. It shows the West Exhibit Hall and a West Lobby, a Concourse with food and beverage, Concourse Plaza and Petree Plaza, Gilbert Lindsay Plaza, a Pico Station label, and the Venice Garage near the South Dock. Kentia Hall is on the lower level, below the South Hall. The venue's outdoor space page lists four plazas: South Plaza, North Plaza, Gilbert Lindsay Plaza and Petree Plaza, with Petree Plaza next to Petree Hall.

The floor plan also marks Future Expansion Areas, which fits the expansion project the venue describes on its site. The venue says the expansion and modernization project runs through early 2029, so expect construction around the site.

Registration entrances change by show. Your event organizer will tell you whether registration is in the West Lobby, a South Hall lobby or the concourse. The venue's FAQ says on site dining includes Compass Cafe, Galaxy Cafe, Tradewinds Cafe, Groundwork Coffee and Taste Market, and that outside food is not permitted, which matters if you are planning to bring your own lunch.

Last trains and getting back late

Getting back late from the Los Angeles Convention Center is mostly a question of Metro, ride share and your hotel. We did not read a last train time we could confirm, so we are not stating one. Metro publishes an A Line timetable effective June 7, 2026 and an E Line timetable effective December 14, 2025 on its website, and the last Pico Station departure depends on the line, the direction and the day of the week, so open the current timetable for your day.

When you do check, note that the Pico Boulevard closure may change the route between the station and the venue entrances, according to the venue's traffic alert. If your show ends after dark, ask your organizer or hotel which route they recommend.

The parking garages have limited hours. The venue says the garages operate from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm daily, subject to change without notice, and the visitor FAQ says hours may vary by event. If your show or an L.A. LIVE event runs past 9 pm, confirm with the venue that your garage will still be open, because a car left in a closed garage is a real problem.

Metrolink riders should check the Metrolink timetable for the last departure from Union Station on their line before planning an evening at L.A. LIVE. The venue notes that a Metrolink ticket includes a free transfer to Metro, but it does not state train times.

For a late night with luggage or exhibit materials, ride share or a hotel on the Figueroa Street side is the most reliable plan. The venue says it does not run a shuttle, and that nearby hotels may offer their own. Several of the hotels listed below are within a short walk, which is the simplest late night solution.

Parking at Los Angeles Convention Center

The venue has two main garages, the West Hall Garage and the South Hall Garage, and its parking page also lists a Venice Garage. We are not quoting rates because they vary with events, so check the venue's parking page for the current charge for your date. The venue says all parking sales are final, with no refunds or return entry, and that the facility is cashless: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted, and cash and checks are not.

The West Hall Garage entrance is now accessible via L.A. Live Way only, according to the venue. The page does not give separate street addresses for each garage, and links to directions on a map instead. The South Hall Garage is described as accessible from major freeways. The venue's floor plan shows the Venice Garage near the South Dock.

Hours matter. The garages operate from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm daily, subject to change without notice. If you plan to attend an evening event, check how your event handles late exits before you park.

Accessible parking is available in all of the venue's garages, subject to availability, and the prevailing parking rate applies to accessible spaces. The venue has 24 Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations, 12 in the West Hall Garage and 12 in the South Hall Garage, and says the number may change during the expansion project, which runs through early 2029.

Because of the Pico Boulevard closure between Figueroa Street and L.A. Live Way through March 31, 2028, your satnav may offer a route that no longer works. Follow signage and the venue's closure map, and approach the West Hall Garage from L.A. Live Way. If parking looks complicated for your event, a hotel within walking distance and the Metro may be easier than driving.

Which side of Los Angeles Convention Center to stay on

The venue's experience page says that neighboring the center is downtown LA's sports and entertainment district, L.A. LIVE, with Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater, restaurants, night clubs, music venues, a bowling alley, a movie theater and the Grammy Museum. That is the natural side to stay on if you want nightlife within walking distance.

On OpenStreetMap coordinates, the closest hotels are just east of the venue's map point. The Moxy Downtown Los Angeles on West Pico Boulevard and the AC Hotel on South Figueroa Street are each about 0.1 miles in a straight line from the venue's map point. The Ritz-Carlton and the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE share an address at 900 West Olympic Boulevard, about 0.3 miles away, and the Courtyard and the Residence Inn at 901 West Olympic Boulevard are about 0.35 miles.

South along Figueroa Street, Luxe Hotel at 1020 South Figueroa Street is about 0.33 miles and Hotel Figueroa, Unbound Collection by Hyatt at 939 South Figueroa Street is about 0.4. Hotel Indigo at 899 Francisco Street is about 0.5 miles. Discover Los Angeles also lists the Westin Bonaventure, DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Los Angeles and Hilton Checkers in its downtown group, which are further into the center of downtown.

To the west, along Olympic Boulevard, the OpenStreetMap listing includes the Rodeway Inn Convention Center and The Live Hotel at 1901 and 1904 West Olympic Boulevard, around 0.8 miles away, and Staples Centre Inn on South Bonnie Brae Street. These are straight line distances, not walking routes, and the area west of the Harbor Freeway has a different feel.

Our view: for a trade show, choose a hotel on the Figueroa or Olympic Boulevard side within about half a mile. If you prefer to be on the Metro, a hotel near 7th Street and Metro Center gives you more train options, but the walk to the halls is longer and the venue itself puts it at 10 to 15 minutes from that station.

Budget hotel brands near Los Angeles Convention Center: what we could confirm

Searchers who want cheap hotels near the Los Angeles Convention Center are usually looking for a lower priced room close to the halls. We do not quote rates, because downtown hotel prices change sharply with events, and we have not confirmed which hotel is cheapest. What we can do is point to the select service and lifestyle names that sit near the center so you can compare them yourself.

The Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and the AC Hotel are the closest to the venue by map, about 0.1 miles in a straight line. The Courtyard and the Residence Inn at 901 West Olympic Boulevard are about 0.35 miles, and Hotel Indigo at 899 Francisco Street is about 0.5. Further out, the Proper Hotel and The Hoxton to the east are about 0.6 miles, and the Rodeway Inn Convention Center on West Olympic Boulevard is about 0.8 miles.

Discover Los Angeles lists Moxy Downtown Los Angeles, Hotel Figueroa, JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Aiden Los Angeles Downtown Dragon Gate Inn, the Westin Bonaventure, DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Los Angeles and Hilton Checkers Los Angeles in its downtown group. We did not find Hampton, Fairfield or Holiday Inn Express properties close to the venue in the sources we could read.

When comparing, check whether parking or other fees are added to the room price. We have not verified any hotel's fee policy, so read the booking conditions.

For a team, hotels can be booked with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available. That is often easier than finding the cheapest room for each person when everyone is attending the same show.

How close are the hotels to Los Angeles Convention Center on foot?

Hotels within walking distance of the Los Angeles Convention Center are concentrated on Figueroa Street, Pico Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard. The venue says L.A. LIVE neighbors the convention center, and its Getting Here page puts the Pico Metro station at about an 8 minute walk. We could not find official walking times for any hotel, so the distances here are straight line miles from OpenStreetMap coordinates and should be used as a guide.

The closest are the Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and the AC Hotel, each about 0.1 miles. Then come the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE at 900 West Olympic Boulevard at about 0.3 miles, Luxe Hotel at about 0.33 miles, and the Courtyard and Residence Inn at 901 West Olympic Boulevard at about 0.35 miles. Hotel Figueroa, Unbound Collection by Hyatt is about 0.4 miles, and Hotel Indigo about 0.5 miles.

Beyond half a mile, you are in territory where many people will choose the Metro. The Proper Hotel, The Hoxton, O Hotel, The Wayfarer and Stillwell are all around 0.6 miles in straight line. The Sheraton Grand Los Angeles on South Hope Street and the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Wilshire Boulevard are about 0.75 to 0.8 miles away.

There is one wrinkle to keep in mind. The Pico Boulevard closure between Figueroa Street and L.A. Live Way, from December 4, 2025 through March 31, 2028, may change the pedestrian route on the Pico side of the site, so use a current map when you plan a route on foot, especially at night or with luggage.

The venue's own pages do not list walking distance hotels, and its experience page only says that downtown LA near the center is experiencing a hotel boom. If walking matters to you, filter for hotels on Figueroa Street, Pico Boulevard or Olympic Boulevard, then check the distance in a map app.

Upmarket hotels near Los Angeles Convention Center: what we could confirm

Searchers asking for the best hotels near the Los Angeles Convention Center usually mean the L.A. LIVE hotels. The Ritz-Carlton and the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE share the 900 West Olympic Boulevard address, which OpenStreetMap places about 0.3 miles in a straight line from the venue. Discover Los Angeles lists the JW Marriott as the only hotel in its downtown group that carries the L.A. LIVE name.

Hotel Figueroa, Unbound Collection by Hyatt, at 939 South Figueroa Street, is on South Figueroa Street, and the AC Hotel and Moxy are the nearest of all by map. We have not ranked these on guest reviews, because we did not read scores from a primary source, so the order here is by distance, not by quality.

Further into downtown, Discover Los Angeles lists the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites, DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Los Angeles, and Hilton Checkers Los Angeles. The Sheraton Grand Los Angeles and InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown also appear on OpenStreetMap, at about 0.75 to 0.8 miles. These are good choices if you also have meetings downtown and are comfortable using Metro or a short ride.

If you will be on your feet at the show, a hotel within half a mile is worth paying attention to. If you want evening entertainment, L.A. LIVE hotels place you next to Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and the Grammy Museum.

Hotels can be booked for a team with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available if you are bringing a group to the same event. Tell us the dates and the number of rooms.

Eating and evenings near Los Angeles Convention Center

Inside the venue, the in house dining provider is Taste Los Angeles, powered by Levy Restaurants. The visitor FAQ lists Compass Cafe, Galaxy Cafe, Tradewinds Cafe, Groundwork Coffee and Taste Market. The Level 1 floor plan marks a concourse for food and beverage and a Groundwork Coffee and concessions point. Outside food is not permitted, and individual drinks such as a single bottle of water are allowed but bulk beverages and coolers are not.

For offsite dining, the venue points to L.A. LIVE, which it describes as downtown LA's sports and entertainment district, neighboring the convention center. It is made up of Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater, restaurants, night clubs, sports and music venues, plus a bowling alley, a movie theater and the Grammy Museum.

The venue also describes Los Angeles as having one of the country's most dynamic dining scenes, from street food to Michelin starred restaurants, but its page does not name restaurants near the center, so we will not either. Use a map app to find places along Figueroa Street and in L.A. LIVE.

Evenings depend on the arena calendar. When Crypto.com Arena has an event, L.A. LIVE is busy, and the streets around the convention center can be crowded. If you want a quieter dinner, look at places a few blocks away or in the downtown hotels.

The venue's garages close at 9 pm, according to its parking page, so if you plan a long evening, consider leaving the car at your hotel and using Metro or ride share. The Metro Bike station out front of the West Hall is open 24 hours for short trips, according to the venue.

Tips for exhibitors and visitors

Check the Pico Boulevard closure first. The venue says it runs from December 4, 2025 through March 31, 2028, and that the expansion work continues through early 2029. Allow extra time for arrival and for loading and unloading, and plan your route with a current map.

Know which hall you are in. The West Hall is about 210,685 square feet and the South Hall nearly 350,000, and they are joined by interior walkways. Concourse Hall and Petree Hall are about 26,342 square feet each, and Kentia Hall is on the lower level. Ask your organizer for the floor plan, which for the venue's 2026 version is available on its venue maps page.

If you drive, arrive early and choose the garage your organizer recommends. The West Hall Garage is entered from L.A. Live Way only, the garages run 5 am to 9 pm, and payment is by card only. Keep your receipt, because sales are final.

If you use Metro, take the A Line or E Line to Pico Station, or use 7th Street and Metro Center, and allow for the walk the venue lists. Remember that the venue does not run a shuttle, so a hotel close by is a real advantage when you carry samples or banners.

Book hotels early for the big shows. The venue's calendar lists events such as L.A. Comic Con at the end of October, LA Art Show in January, Star Wars Celebration in April 2027 and Anime Expo in July 2027. If you are travelling as a team, hotels can be booked with a company invoice, and a custom quote is available. Send us the dates, the rooms and the event, and we will help.
