Where should you sit at Spectrum Center?

The best seats at Spectrum Center are 104-106 and 113-115 (105 and 114 at centre court) for the view. For value, choose Lower rows of upper sideline sections 207-210 and 224-227. Avoid Upper corner sections nearest the sidelines (for example 206 and 228). Spectrum Center seats 19,077, home of Charlotte Hornets.

Overview

About Spectrum Center

Spectrum Center is the Uptown Charlotte home of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, listed by NBA.com at 19,077 seats for basketball before a 2024-25 renovation added about 1,400 more lower-level seats. The Spectrum Center seating chart has two seating levels: the lower level (sections 101 to 118) wraps the court, with courtside and club rows in front, and the upper level (sections 201 to 233) rises above the Novant Health Suite Level. For Hornets games the best seats are the lower sideline sections 104 to 106 and 113 to 115, with 105 and 114 at centre court, while the best value is the lower rows of the upper sideline sections either side of midcourt (207 to 210 and 224 to 227). The seating view from the lower level is good all round, because even the baselines rise steeply and are split by an aisle behind each basket, so nobody sits directly behind the hoop. For concerts the floor is added in front of an end stage, and every seat in the bowl was replaced during the renovation.

Spectrum Center opened in October 2005 as Charlotte Bobcats Arena, designed by Ellerbe Becket with Odell Associates and The Freelon Group, and took its current name in 2016. It is owned by the City of Charlotte and run by Hornets Sports & Entertainment. A two-phase renovation completed in October 2025 replaced every seat in the bowl, added about 1,400 new lower-level seats and seven more Founders Level suites, rebuilt the Novant Health Suite Level and opened new North and South District bars on the main concourse.

Capacity & layout

What is the Spectrum Center seating capacity?

The Spectrum Center seating capacity is about 19,077 seats. The number in use changes with the layout, so here is how each set-up works.

NBA basketball (Charlotte Hornets)

The standard layout, listed by NBA.com at 19,077 before the renovation that added about 1,400 lower-level seats. Courtside rows and the Event Level clubs surround the court.

College basketball

Spectrum Center regularly hosts the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament rounds; Wikipedia lists capacity of up to 20,200 for college games.

Concerts

Usually an end stage with a floor of reserved seats or general admission standing in front. Wikipedia lists concert capacities from about 13,400 (end stage, 180 degrees) to about 18,500 (centre stage). For general admission shows the arena's standard policy is that the line-up begins at 8am on the day of the event unless announced otherwise.

Combat sports and other events

The arena has staged UFC events, professional wrestling and family shows, with floor seating added around a central ring or stage.

Sections

What are the seating levels at Spectrum Center?

Courtside and Event Level clubsFront rows of 101-118

The seats around the court on the Honeywell Event Level, sold with access to the HondaJet Courtside Club, the Inner Circle Club or the Bank of America Hardwood Club.

Pros: As close as you can get to the players, with all-inclusive food and drink in the clubs.

Cons: The most expensive seats in the building and usually sold as premium packages.

Lower level (100s)101-118

The main bowl wrapping the court, reached from the Belk Concourse. Sideline sections 104 to 106 and 113 to 115 sit either side of centre court; 102, 103, 107, 108, 111, 112 and 116 are the corners; and 101, 109, 110 and 118 are the baselines.

Pros: Close, well-raked views from every angle. The baseline sections are split by a stairway behind each basket, so no seat looks straight into the back of the hoop.

Cons: Premium prices on the sidelines, and the corner sections vary in shape and angle.

Founders Level and Novant Health Suite LevelSuites

The Founders Level holds lower-level sideline suites and the Flight Deck social dining space; the Novant Health Suite Level above holds Standard Suites, Mini Suites, Party Suites, the Super Suite and the First Horizon Bank Theater Box.

Pros: Private or shared hospitality with a raised view of the court.

Cons: Sold mainly as full suites or premium packages.

Upper level (200s)201-233

The upper tier off the Uptown Concourse. Sideline sections 207 to 210 and 224 to 227 face midcourt; the corners run from 203 to 206, 211 to 214, 220 to 223 and 228 to 231; and 201, 202, 215 to 219, 232 and 233 sit behind the baskets. Rows are lettered from A at the front.

Pros: The most affordable way into Hornets games, with full views of the court and the centre-hung video board.

Cons: The sideline sections are large, with more than 20 rows and more than 20 seats per row, so higher rows mean a long climb and a distant view.

Seat views

Spectrum Center view from your seat

Courtside and club rows

Front rows of lower-level sections 101 to 118

Floor-level seats at the edge of the court with the players, benches and officials right in front of you. Courtside tickets include the HondaJet Courtside Club and the Inner Circle Club rows sit just behind.

Tip: The Inner Circle Club stays open for an hour after the final buzzer, which helps you avoid the rush for the trains.

Lower level sidelines

104 to 106 and 113 to 115 (centre court at 105 and 114)

The classic basketball view, level with midcourt and close enough to follow every play at both ends. The Hornets' bench is usually in front of 104 and the visitors' in front of 106.

Tip: Choose 105 or 114 for a view of both baskets; choose 104 to be right behind the Hornets.

Lower level corners

102, 103, 107, 108, 111, 112 and 116

Diagonal views across the court that work well for watching plays develop. Each corner section has its own shape, so sightlines vary a little from one to the next.

Tip: A row near the top of a corner section gives more height to see both ends and puts you close to the concourse.

Lower level baselines

101, 109, 110 and 118

End-on seats behind the baskets, but steeply raked and split by a stairway so no one is stuck directly behind the backboard. Sections 109 and 110 are small, so even their back rows are only about 20 rows from the court.

Tip: For end-stage concerts the stage usually sits at the 107 to 112 end, so the 101 and 118 end then faces the stage head on.

Upper level sidelines

207 to 210 and 224 to 227

A raised, full view of the court from the side, with 208, 209, 225 and 226 closest to midcourt. The sections are deep, so the view changes a lot between the front and back rows.

Tip: Pay a little more for the first ten rows; they make the biggest difference to the view from your seat up here.

Upper level corners

203 to 206, 211 to 214, 220 to 223 and 228 to 231

Among the cheapest seats in the arena, looking across the court at an angle. The inner corners give a good angle to both ends.

Tip: Corner sections next to the sidelines, such as 206 and 228, can have a tighter angle than the inner corners.

Upper level baselines

201, 202, 215 to 219, 232 and 233

End-on views from high above the baskets, the lowest-priced tickets for many Hornets games. The near basket can get in the way of some of the court.

Tip: The front rows of 202 and 232 are short, so you are never far from the aisle.

Seat numbers

How do Spectrum Center seat numbers work?

Spectrum Center uses three-digit section numbers and the first digit tells you the level: 101 to 118 is the lower level round the court and 201 to 233 is the upper level. The suites sit between them on the Founders Level and the Novant Health Suite Level, and suites and boxes are named or numbered separately. Rows are lettered, starting with A at the front of each section. Some premium rows in front of Row A carry their own codes (courtside rows, for example), so if your row is not a plain letter it is usually one of the premium rows nearest the court. For concerts the floor is split into its own numbered floor sections.

Reading a ticket: Section 225, Row C: the 2 means the upper level. Section 225 is one of the sideline sections closest to midcourt on that side, and Row C is the third row from the front of the upper level.

Concerts

Spectrum Center floor plan for concerts

Most concerts use an end stage with the floor in front of it and the lower and upper levels wrapping the other three sides. Layouts change from show to show, so always check the Spectrum Center seat map for your event.

The floor: The floor is usually split into reserved floor sections with lettered rows from Row A at the front, but some shows sell it as general admission standing. For general admission shows the standard line-up starts at 8am on the day of the event unless the arena announces otherwise.

The stage: Usually at the end nearest lower-level sections 107 to 112.

With the stage at that end, the opposite baseline (around 101 and 118, and the upper sections above them) faces it head on, and the sideline sections see it from the side. Seats beside or behind the stage may be restricted or not sold.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the seating capacity of Spectrum Center?

NBA.com lists Spectrum Center at 19,077 for Hornets games. That figure predates the 2024-25 renovation, which added about 1,400 lower-level seats, so the current total is slightly higher. Wikipedia lists up to 20,200 for college basketball.

How is the Spectrum Center seating chart laid out?

There are two seating levels. The lower level, sections 101 to 118, wraps the court with courtside and club rows in front, and the upper level, sections 201 to 233, sits above the suite levels. The Hornets' Virtual Select Your Seat tool on the team website previews the view from your seat at Spectrum Center before you buy.

How are sections, rows and seats numbered at Spectrum Center?

Sections have three digits and the first digit is the level: 100s are the lower level and 200s the upper level. Rows are lettered from A at the front of each section, and a few premium rows nearest the court carry their own codes. Seat numbers are printed on each seat, but the arena does not publish which end of a row seat 1 is at.

Which Spectrum Center seats are the best?

For Hornets games, the lower sideline sections 104 to 106 and 113 to 115 are the best, with 105 and 114 at centre court and 104 behind the Hornets' bench. For value, sit in the lower rows of the upper sideline sections, 207 to 210 and 224 to 227.

What are the Spectrum Center seat views like from the upper level?

The upper sideline sections give a full, raised view of the whole court; 208, 209, 225 and 226 are closest to midcourt. Seats behind the baskets and in the corners are cheaper, but the near basket can block part of the court. Every seat in the bowl was replaced in 2025.

Where do I park for Spectrum Center?

The arena says nearly 30,000 off-street parking spaces are within a 15-minute walk, in public and private garages, decks and lots, and SpotHero lets you reserve a space in advance. Many fans skip parking and take the LYNX Blue Line to CTC/Arena Station, which is steps from the entrances.

What is the Spectrum Center concert layout?

Most concerts use an end stage, usually at the end nearest sections 107 to 112, with reserved floor sections or general admission standing in front. The lower and upper levels facing the stage give the straightest view, and seats beside or behind the stage may be restricted or not sold.

The Event Level has three clubs: the HondaJet Courtside Club for courtside seat holders, the Inner Circle Club for seats close to the court, and the Bank of America Hardwood Club for select hardwood floor seats. All include food and drink, with spirits in the Courtside and Hardwood clubs.

Is Spectrum Center accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes. Wheelchair and companion seating is available throughout the arena through Ticketmaster, and Guest Experience (704.688.8128) can help with requests.
