About Sydney Cricket Ground
The SCG holds around 48,000 across a ring of historic and modern stands, from the members-only Pavilion and Ladies Stand on the west to the Victor Trumper, Bill O'Reilly and Brewongle stands around the rest of the ground. The best batting views sit behind the bowler's arm at the members' end, while the Trumper Stand on the site of the old Hill is the liveliest general area. Afternoon sun catches the eastern side. It hosts the New Year's Test, one-day and T20 internationals, Sydney Sixers BBL games and Sydney Swans AFL.
A heritage-rich ground blending Victorian-era grandstands with modern seating. The 1886 Members Pavilion and 1896 Ladies Stand are iconic listed buildings, while the modern Victor Trumper Stand (2008) and Bill O'Reilly Stand form the larger public bowl. The old grass Hill has long since given way to seating.

Eastern-side seats (Trumper) in the afternoon: Direct afternoon sun with little shade.
Low front rows behind the boundary boards: Fielders and advertising boards can block the near boundary.
Deep corner seats at fine-leg and third-man angles: Very side-on, making the far side of the pitch hard to judge.
Rows directly behind roof-support columns in the older stands: Occasional pillar obstruction.

The SCG provides accessible seating and companion positions across several stands, with accessible entry gates, lifts and amenities. Wheelchair spaces are bookable through Ticketek and venue services, and advance booking is recommended for major matches.

Getting there
Transport
Light rail (L2/L3) to the Moore Park stops runs close by, with buses from the CBD and extra services on event days; it is about a 25-30 minute walk from Central station. Parking around Moore Park is limited and fills fast.

In the Moore Park sporting precinct just east of the CBD, alongside the Allianz Stadium and Centennial Park. The cafes and pubs of Surry Hills and Paddington are a short walk away.
