Automate, North America's largest robotics and automation show, moves to Las Vegas in 2027 and runs at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Monday 10 to Thursday 13 May 2027. Organised by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the show reports more than 50,000 people and typically over 1,000 exhibitors, with visitors from more than 100 countries. Note the new city if you have attended before: the 2027 edition is in Las Vegas, not Detroit. Walking the show floor and the daily keynote are free, while the conference, certification exams and some evening events are paid. Automation buyers and engineers often pair long show days with evening meetings, so a hotel close to the convention centre or on the Monorail line saves time. This page shows live Las Vegas hotel rates near the LVCC for your dates, so you can compare Automate hotels and book with flexible dates.

How do you get to Automate?

From Harry Reid International (LAS)

  • The airport sits just off the south end of the Strip, and most Strip and Convention Center hotels are a 10-25 minute drive in normal traffic
  • Rideshare pickup is from designated garage areas at both terminals; on busy arrival days expect queues and surge pricing
  • Taxis charge zoned or metered fares to the Strip and Convention Center area; the ride is short, but arrival day traffic can double journey times
  • RTC public buses serve the Strip corridor cheaply but slowly: fine off peak, hard work with luggage

By road from Southern California

  • Many visitors from California drive in on the I-15 from Los Angeles, roughly four to five hours in good conditions
  • Parking at the Las Vegas Convention Center is limited and paid; if you drive, choose a hotel with included or validated parking
  • Some attendees look at nearby regional airports when LAS fares spike, but for most travellers LAS remains the only practical option

How do you get around during Automate?

Getting to the LVCC each day

  • The Las Vegas Monorail stops directly at the Convention Center and connects to Strip resorts on the east side, a reliable option when roads are busy
  • The Vegas Loop links the LVCC with Resorts World, Encore and Westgate, and the LVCC Loop moves attendees between the West, Central and South Halls underground
  • Rideshare works, but expect surge pricing and designated pickup zones at the LVCC at the 5:00 pm close
  • Walking from Westgate or nearby Convention Center district hotels is often fastest at the morning peak

Around Las Vegas

  • Distances deceive: Strip blocks are enormous, and a short walk between resorts can take 25 minutes indoors and out
  • Monorail multi day passes can be good value if you stay on the east Strip corridor for all four days
  • Traffic on Las Vegas Blvd and Paradise Rd builds at show close, so leave extra time for evening meetings across town
  • Evenings centre on the Strip's restaurants and bars, which get busy during big conventions, so book client dinners ahead

Do you need a visa for Automate?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Citizens of the 42 Visa Waiver Program countries (including the UK, most of the EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore) can attend without a visa using an approved ESTA
  • ESTA costs around US$40, is applied for online and is typically valid for two years of multiple visits; apply at least 72 hours before flying
  • Canadian citizens generally need neither a visa nor an ESTA for business visits of this kind

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of China, India, and most of the Middle East, Africa and Latin America need a B-1 business visitor visa with an in person consular interview
  • US visa interview wait times vary dramatically by country and can run to many months, so start early
  • A3 offers a visa invitation letter request form once you have registered for the show; allow 10 business days for its review, and approval is not guaranteed

Documents to carry

  • Your show registration confirmation and evidence of your business purpose, such as meeting schedules or an employer letter
  • Proof of accommodation and a return or onward ticket: CBP officers can ask for both
  • A passport valid for your entire stay; VWP travellers must hold an e-passport

US entry requirements and fees change; verify current rules with the US embassy or official government sources before you book.

First time at Automate?

  • Show hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm from Monday to Wednesday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday
  • Register for a free show badge early and keep the QR code from your confirmation email for quicker badge pick-up on site
  • No one under 12 is allowed on the show floor, and 12 to 17 year olds must be with an adult
  • Early bird conference pricing runs to 29 March 2027, so decide early whether you need a conference pass
  • Wear comfortable shoes and carry water; Las Vegas air is dry and the halls are large

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Exhibitors tend to have more time for technical conversations on Monday and Tuesday mornings
  • A hotel on the Monorail line keeps your trip to the LVCC predictable when you have meetings back to back
  • Thursday closes at 3:00 pm, so an evening flight home that day is usually workable
  • The organiser warns against unofficial hotel offers that claim to be linked to the show; we are an independent booking site with no affiliation, and you book a named hotel at a shown rate
