How do you get to Foire de Paris?

From Paris Orly (ORY)

  • Orly is the airport on the south side of Paris, the same side of the city as Porte de Versailles
  • Metro line 14 runs from the Aéroport d'Orly station, near Terminal 3, to central Paris; Paris Aéroport times the ride at about 23 minutes to Gare de Lyon and 25 minutes to Châtelet, every 2 to 5 minutes
  • Line 14 needs the Ticket Paris Région <> Aéroports (€14 single, on a Navigo Easy pass) or a Navigo pass for all zones, according to Paris Aéroport
  • Official taxis charge a flat fare set by the Paris Police Prefecture: €36 to the Left Bank, where Porte de Versailles is, and €45 to the Right Bank; Paris Aéroport puts the drive to central Paris at 25 to 45 minutes

From Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or by train

  • From CDG, the RER B is the simplest link to Paris, about 35 minutes to Gare du Nord and Châtelet, according to Paris Aéroport; continue by Metro to Porte de Versailles
  • A taxi from CDG has a flat fare of €65 to the Left Bank, and Paris Aéroport puts the drive to central Paris at 35 to 60 minutes
  • The organiser lists train links to Paris from Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nantes, Rennes, Strasbourg, Toulon and Toulouse on its getting there page
  • Driving? The organiser points you to the ring road exits Porte de Versailles, Porte de la Plaine or Porte de Sèvres, with paid car parks 1, 6 and 7 at the exhibition park

How do you get around during Foire de Paris?

Getting to the fair each day

  • Metro line 12 stops at Porte de Versailles and line 8 at Balard, the two stations the organiser lists for the fair
  • Trams T2 and T3 stop at Porte de Versailles, and buses 80 (Porte de Versailles) and 39 (Desnouettes) also serve the site
  • There is a taxi rank at Porte de Versailles, 378 rue de Vaugirard, according to the organiser
  • Vélib' bike stations 15049 (2 avenue Ernest Renan), 15107 (42 boulevard Victor) and 15061 (12 square Desnouettes) are the ones the organiser suggests

Where to stay around Porte de Versailles

  • The 15th arrondissement around Porte de Versailles keeps you closest to the halls, and the venue operator Viparis lists several hotels inside the exhibition park itself
  • Montparnasse and Saint-Germain give you more restaurants and evening life; check each hotel's nearest Metro line on the map before you book
  • Issy-les-Moulineaux, just over the city boundary, can be good value for exhibitor teams staying the full eleven days
  • The fair runs over two public holidays in 2027, Saturday 1 May and Saturday 8 May, and the organiser says it is open on both

Do you need a visa for Foire de Paris?

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • France is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for through France's consulates or their appointed visa centres
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • A Foire de Paris ticket is not a letter of invitation; exhibitors who need one for a visa application should ask the organiser well before they apply

Documents to carry

  • A passport valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen Area
  • Your fair ticket, which the organiser says will be asked for at the entrance and will not be reissued
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the French embassy or consulate, or official EU sources, before you book.

First time at Foire de Paris?

  • Buy online: the organiser's ticket page lists €12 online against €16 at the ticket desk, with children under 7 free and a €7 ticket for ages 7 to 12
  • Leaving the fair is final, so plan your day; the organiser suggests allowing up to five hours for a visit
  • Pets are not allowed (assistance dogs excepted), and the organiser's banned list includes alcohol, glass bottles, aerosols and personal mobility devices such as scooters
  • Coming by motorbike? Helmets must be left at the free left luggage point at exterior gate A1, according to the organiser
  • The organiser's website and ticket pages are in French; the FAQ and practical pages cover prices, hours and banned items

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The late opening on Saturday 8 May runs until 22:00 with a cheaper evening ticket, and the organiser says the 2026 late opening drew a record crowd, so expect busy trams and Metro that night
  • An afterwork ticket between 17:00 and 19:00 is listed by the organiser, handy if you are in Paris for work and want a quick look after hours
  • The organiser names an official accommodation agency for the fair; we are independent and not affiliated with Foire de Paris, and you book a named hotel directly with us at the rate shown
