Google Cloud Next 2027 returns to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from 13-15 April, drawing around 30,000 cloud architects, developers, data and AI engineers, IT executives and Google partners for three days of keynotes, hands-on labs and product launches. Next is where Google unveils its biggest Cloud and AI announcements of the year, so the audience skews technical and decision-making at once - builders in the breakouts, buyers in the expo. The catch for attendees is geography: Mandalay Bay sits at the far southern end of the Strip, and the resorts physically connected to the convention centre - Mandalay Bay itself, Delano and Luxor - sell out to sponsors and corporate blocks months before the event. This page shows live bookable rates for hotels sorted by real distance from Mandalay Bay, so you can lock in a room before the south Strip inventory disappears.

Popular areas for attendees: South Strip · Mandalay Bay · Mid-Strip.

  • Hotels curated by walking and tram distance to Mandalay Bay Convention Center, not generic Las Vegas listings
  • Live 4-5 star rates at Strip resorts, updated in real time as Next room blocks tighten
  • Free-cancellation rates prioritised, so you can hold a room before your conference pass or budget is confirmed
  • Instant tax invoice issued at booking for painless corporate expense claims

Getting there

From LAS (Harry Reid International Airport)

  • Mandalay Bay is the closest major Strip resort to the airport - roughly 2.5 miles, often under 10 minutes by car outside peak times
  • Taxis use zoned flat fares to Strip resorts, roughly US$21-29 depending on the hotel; the south Strip zone is the cheapest
  • Uber and Lyft pick up from the designated rideshare areas (Terminal 1 parking garage level 2 and Terminal 3); expect surge pricing on the Monday before keynotes
  • RTC public buses connect the airport to the Strip and downtown for a few dollars, but with luggage most attendees find a taxi faster for the short hop

Driving and regional arrivals

  • Southern California attendees often drive: Las Vegas is about 4-5 hours from Los Angeles via I-15, though Sunday-evening inbound traffic can add an hour or more
  • Most Strip resorts now charge for both self-parking and valet, so factor US$15-30 per day into a driving budget
  • If long-haul flights into LAS are expensive for your dates, connecting through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver or Phoenix opens up far more fare options
  • Allow buffer time on departure day - LAS security queues balloon when a 30,000-person conference lets out

Getting around during Google Cloud Next

Getting to Mandalay Bay Convention Center daily

  • If you stay at Mandalay Bay, Delano or Luxor you can reach the convention centre entirely indoors - the most valuable commute in Las Vegas during an April conference
  • The free Mandalay Bay Tram links Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay along the south Strip, so hotels near the Excalibur/MGM corner remain practical
  • The Las Vegas Monorail does not reach Mandalay Bay - its southern terminus is MGM Grand, about a 20-25 minute walk away
  • Ride-hail drop-off queues at Mandalay Bay back up before the morning keynote; leaving 30 minutes earlier than the map app suggests is realistic

Around Las Vegas

  • The RTC Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip around the clock; a 24-hour pass costs under US$10 and is bought via the rideRTC app
  • Walking distances on the Strip deceive - blocks are enormous, and 'two hotels away' can mean 25 minutes on foot
  • Taxis and ride-hail are plentiful but slow at conference peak hours (8-9am and 5-7pm); pedestrian bridges are often quicker for short hops
  • April evenings are pleasant but daytime sun is strong; use the air-conditioned casino corridors that link many resorts

Visa & entry

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • Citizens of the 40-plus Visa Waiver Program countries - including the UK, most EU states, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand - can attend on an approved ESTA for business stays up to 90 days
  • ESTA costs about US$40, is applied for online and is valid for two years; approval is usually quick but apply at least 72 hours before flying
  • Canadian citizens need neither a visa nor an ESTA for a short business visit - a valid passport is sufficient; the US has no visa-on-arrival scheme for anyone else

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of India, China, Brazil, South Africa and most countries outside the VWP list need a B-1 business visitor visa, which requires an in-person consular interview
  • Interview wait times vary enormously by consulate - from days to many months - so start the application as soon as you commit to attending
  • Most nonimmigrant visas issued from 2026 attract an additional US$250 visa integrity fee on top of the standard application fee; Chinese nationals with 10-year B1/B2 visas must also keep their EVUS enrolment current

Documents to carry

  • Passport valid for your entire stay, plus a printout or screenshot of your ESTA approval or the visa itself
  • Google Cloud Next registration confirmation and hotel booking - CBP officers routinely ask conference travellers for both
  • Evidence of onward or return travel; B-1 applicants should also bring an employer letter describing the business purpose to the visa interview

US entry rules and fees change frequently - confirm current requirements with the nearest US embassy or the official CBP and State Department websites before booking travel.

First time at Google Cloud Next?

  • Arrive Monday 12 April: badge pickup opens the day before keynotes and Tuesday-morning registration queues at Mandalay Bay are the longest of the week
  • Reserve breakout sessions in the Next app as soon as scheduling opens - popular AI and security sessions fill weeks before the event
  • The Mandalay Bay Convention Center is vast and on multiple levels; plan 10-15 minutes between sessions in different halls and wear proper shoes
  • Rooms at Mandalay Bay, Delano and Luxor sell out first because they offer an indoor commute - book those the day you register or accept a tram or taxi ride
  • Keynote seating is first-come; if you want to be near the front, join the line well before doors open, or watch from the overflow lounges with coffee instead

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • The final afternoon is the quietest time on the expo floor - the best window for unhurried demos and real conversations with Google product managers
  • Serious networking happens at partner-hosted evening events and in the Mandalay Bay lobby bars, not in the session halls; accept the invitations that land after you register
  • Food queues inside the convention centre peak at 12:15; eat before noon or walk to the Mandalay Bay casino-level restaurants for a faster, better lunch
  • Skip the ride-hail scrum after the closing keynote by walking the tram to Luxor or Excalibur and calling your car from there

Google Cloud Next travel FAQs

Where should I stay for Google Cloud Next?

The ideal base is the connected trio of Mandalay Bay, Delano and Luxor, which put you indoors all the way to the convention centre. Failing that, south Strip resorts around Excalibur, New York-New York and MGM Grand keep the commute to a free tram ride or a short taxi hop.

How much do hotels cost during Google Cloud Next?

Las Vegas room rates are demand-driven and a 30,000-person conference pushes south Strip prices to roughly double their quiet-week levels, with the connected resorts rising the most. Midweek conference nights cost far more than the weekend either side.

How early should I book hotels for Google Cloud Next?

Book as soon as your attendance is likely - ideally three to six months out. The properties attached to Mandalay Bay sell out to sponsor and corporate blocks first, and free-cancellation rates let you commit early with no downside.

Which airport do I fly into for Google Cloud Next?

Harry Reid International (LAS), which is remarkably close - Mandalay Bay is the nearest major resort to the airport, around 10 minutes by taxi. There is no realistic alternative airport for Las Vegas.

Is Google Cloud Next worth attending in person rather than online?

Keynotes stream free, but the hands-on labs, certification opportunities, one-on-one time with Google engineers and the partner networking circuit only exist on site. Most attendees justify the trip on the expo and networking rather than the sessions alone.
