The PPAI Expo, the promotional products industry's big annual trade show, returns to Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas in January 2027. PPAI Advance, the education day, is on Monday 11 January, and the exhibition floor is open from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 January 2027. The organiser reports that some 10,000 distributors attended the 2026 edition, and it promises more than 250,000 products from over 1,000 exhibiting companies across a one million square foot show floor. For promotional products teams the big choice is between the host resort and its neighbours, where you can walk to the halls indoors, and the wider Strip, where rates and choice vary more. Mandalay Bay, W Las Vegas, Luxor and Excalibur sit at the south end of the Strip next to the convention centre, while Mid-Strip hotels are a taxi or bus ride away. How do you get to PPAI Expo?
From LAS (Harry Reid International Airport)
- Mandalay Bay is the closest major Strip resort to the airport, roughly 2.5 miles away and often under 10 minutes by car outside peak times
- Taxis use zoned flat fares to Strip resorts, roughly US$21-29 depending on the hotel; the south Strip zone is the cheapest
- Uber and Lyft pick up from the designated rideshare areas (Terminal 1 parking garage level 2 and Terminal 3); expect surge pricing on the arrival days before the show opens
- RTC public buses connect the airport to the Strip and downtown for a few dollars, but with luggage most attendees find a taxi faster for the short hop
Driving and regional arrivals
- Southern California attendees often drive: Las Vegas is about 4-5 hours from Los Angeles via I-15, though Sunday evening inbound traffic can add an hour or more
- Most Strip resorts now charge for both self parking and valet, so factor US$15-30 per day into a driving budget
- If flights into LAS are expensive for your dates, connecting through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver or Phoenix opens up far more fare options
- Allow buffer time on departure day, as LAS security queues grow when a large trade show lets out
How do you get around during PPAI Expo?
Getting to Mandalay Bay Convention Center daily
- If you stay at Mandalay Bay, W Las Vegas or Luxor you can reach the convention centre entirely indoors, the most valuable commute in Las Vegas during a busy show
- The organiser runs a complimentary shuttle between Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Excalibur and Luxor from 11 to 14 January 2027, at set morning and afternoon times listed in the attendee FAQ
- The free Mandalay Bay Tram links Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay along the south Strip, so hotels near the Excalibur and MGM corner remain practical
- The Las Vegas Monorail does not reach Mandalay Bay: its southern terminus is MGM Grand, about a 20-25 minute walk away
Around Las Vegas
- The RTC Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip around the clock; a 24 hour pass costs under US$10 and is bought via the rideRTC app
- Walking distances on the Strip deceive: blocks are enormous, and 'two hotels away' can mean 25 minutes on foot
- Taxis and ride hail are plentiful but slow at show peak hours (8-9am and 5-7pm); pedestrian bridges are often quicker for short hops
- Use the air conditioned casino corridors that link many resorts, and bring a layer for cooler January evenings
Do you need a visa for PPAI Expo?
Visa-free / visa on arrival
- Citizens of the 40-plus Visa Waiver Program countries, including the UK, most EU states, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, can attend on an approved ESTA for business stays up to 90 days
- ESTA costs about US$40, is applied for online and is valid for two years; approval is usually quick but apply at least 72 hours before flying
- Canadian citizens need neither a visa nor an ESTA for a short business visit, as a valid passport is sufficient; the US has no visa on arrival scheme for anyone else
eVisa / visa required
- Nationals of India, China, Brazil, South Africa and most countries outside the VWP list need a B-1 business visitor visa, which requires an in-person consular interview
- Interview wait times vary enormously by consulate, from days to many months, so start the application as soon as you commit to attending
- Most nonimmigrant visas issued from 2026 attract an additional US$250 visa integrity fee on top of the standard application fee; Chinese nationals with 10-year B1/B2 visas must also keep their EVUS enrolment current
Documents to carry
- Passport valid for your entire stay, plus a printout or screenshot of your ESTA approval or the visa itself
- PPAI Expo registration confirmation and hotel booking, as CBP officers routinely ask trade show travellers for both
- Evidence of onward or return travel; B-1 applicants should also bring an employer letter describing the business purpose to the visa interview
US entry rules and fees change frequently, so confirm current requirements with the nearest US embassy or the official CBP and State Department websites before booking travel.
First time at PPAI Expo?
- Decide whether you need PPAI Advance on Monday 11 January (education from 7:30am to 4:45pm) as well as the exhibition days, as it changes your arrival night
- The show floor is open 9:30am to 5pm on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 January and 9:30am to 2pm on Thursday 14 January, so plan key appointments before the short final day
- The PPAI Expo is an industry event and attendance depends on your role, so check the organiser's current registration rules for distributors and suppliers before you book travel
- No one under 16 is allowed on the show floor, at education sessions or at events, so plan accordingly if you are travelling with family
- Wear comfortable shoes: the show floor covers about one million square feet

- The organiser names Maritz as the only official housing provider for the PPAI Expo 2027, with changes on its housing site closing on 15 December 2026; Event Escapes is an independent booking site, not part of that block
