  • Amsterdam RAI station, which the organiser places about 300 metres from the venue, has regular trains to and from Schiphol
  • If you are staying in the city centre, take the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal, then metro 52 south to Europaplein, in front of the RAI
  • You can check in and out with a contactless bank card, credit card or phone on trains, buses, trams and the metro (OVpay), so there is no need to buy a separate ticket

By train or car from elsewhere

  • Amsterdam RAI station has regular connections with Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and the international rail network, according to the organiser
  • From Amsterdam Amstel, take metro 51 to Amsterdam RAI station or bus 65 to Scheldeplein; from Amsterdam Sloterdijk, take metro 50 towards Gein
  • By car, RAI Amsterdam is on the A10 ring road at exit 9 (S109 RAI); follow the P-RAI signs to the car parks
  • Parking is limited on the opening Saturday, 20 February, when parking cannot be booked online, so the organiser advises public transport that day; on other days you can order a parking card online in advance for 25 euros a day
  • The organiser says details of train and coach offers for 2027 will follow on its tickets page

How do you get around during Huishoudbeurs?

Getting to the RAI each day

  • Metro 52 runs every 5 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal to Europaplein, right outside the RAI, and the organiser puts the metro trip to the city centre at about 6 minutes
  • Tram 4 and bus 62 also stop at Europaplein; the organiser puts the tram ride to the city centre at about 25 minutes
  • Metro lines 50 and 51 and trains stop at Amsterdam RAI station, a few minutes on foot from the complex
  • Huishoudbeurs is held in the RAI's Europa complex; your e-ticket is scanned at the entrance assigned to you, and a paper floor plan is handed out when you arrive

At the show and around Amsterdam

  • The organiser puts a taxi between the RAI and the city centre at about 10 minutes, longer in rush hour
  • Cloakrooms at entrances K, L and G charge per coat or bag, and paid lockers are available at entrance K
  • Official RAI catering points only take digital payment, and you may bring your own food and drink
  • Free wifi is available throughout the show, and there is a Baby Care Lounge for changing and feeding
  • February in Amsterdam calls for a warm, waterproof coat for the walk between the metro, the RAI and dinner

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • The Netherlands is in the Schengen Area; EU, EEA and Swiss citizens travel with a passport or national ID card
  • Citizens of the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and many other countries can visit the Schengen Area without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180 day period
  • Non EU travellers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System, fully operational since 10 April 2026, with fingerprints and a facial image taken at the border, so allow extra time at passport control at Schiphol
  • ETIAS, the EU's planned travel authorisation for visa-exempt visitors, was not yet in operation when we checked; the EU says it will announce the start date several months ahead, so check before you fly

eVisa / visa required

  • Nationals of countries such as India, China, South Africa and Türkiye need a Schengen short stay (type C) visa, applied for in the country where you live through a Dutch embassy or consulate or its appointed visa centre
  • Under EU rules you can apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel; standard processing takes 15 days and can be extended to 45
  • A visit to Huishoudbeurs as a shopper is a tourist trip; if you are coming as an exhibitor, check the business visit rules on the IND website, which lists going to a trade fair as a business purpose

  • Your e-ticket for your chosen day, which carries your name, on your phone or printed
  • Hotel booking and return travel details, plus copies of your visa supporting documents and travel medical insurance if you need a visa

Entry and visa rules change; check current requirements with the Dutch embassy or consulate, the IND, or official EU sources, before you book.
